Chapter 462: Northern Jilin Ghost House (Part 2)

Northern Jilin Ghost House (Part 2)

Lin Yu struggled to his feet, his eyes steadfast despite blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. The figure in Japanese military uniform exuded an even stronger aura of evil, like a swirling black mist, surging freely in the dim basement. The saber in its hand now glowed with a strange, eerie glow, as if infused with new malevolent power. With every step, the ground trembled slightly, seemingly unable to bear the weight.

Ouyang Zhenghao was terrified, his eyes fixed on the approaching terrifying figure, and he glanced worriedly at the injured Lin Yu. "Lin Yu, how are you? This monster has become stronger. What should we do?" His voice trembled slightly, but he forced himself to remain calm, trying to find a glimmer of hope in this desperate situation. At this moment, his heart was filled with conflict. He was worried about Lin Yu's injuries, but he was also afraid that he could not defeat the enemy before him. Fear spread like a tide in his heart, but he knew that he must not retreat.

Lin Yu took a deep breath, swallowing the pain, his mind racing. "Don't panic. It's getting stronger, but my attack on the mask just now was effective, which means it's still the key. Chen Yao, does the energy jammer have any stronger capabilities? Can it disrupt it for a while longer? Ouyang, seize the opportunity and use bait tactics to draw it in, giving me a chance to close in," Lin Yu said, his voice firm and powerful, trying to steady the team. He knew this was a life-or-death battle, and every decision depended on everyone's life. He had to remain calm.

Chen Yao quickly checked the energy jammer, her brow furrowed. "The jammer's energy is almost depleted, but I can adjust the frequency and send out a powerful jamming wave. However, this is my last chance, and I must make it work." Her eyes revealed a hint of nervousness and determination, fully aware of the importance of this last-ditch effort. As an expert in the occult, she understood that at this critical moment, any mistake could lead to disastrous consequences.

Ouyang Zhenghao took a deep breath, gripped his weapon tightly, and said casually, "Alright, watch me lead this monster away. You guys wait for the right moment to attack. At worst, I'll be a brave man again in eighteen years!" But his slightly trembling legs betrayed his inner fear. He knew this mission was a life-or-death struggle, but for his teammates, and to uncover the secrets of the Haunted Soul Building, he was willing to give it a try.

As the figure closed in, Ouyang Zhenghao roared and charged, brandishing his weapon with ferocious force, attempting to attract its attention. The figure, enraged, spun around, brandishing its saber, slashing at Ouyang Zhenghao fiercely. The blade flashed like a deadly bolt of lightning, brimming with murderous intent. Ouyang Zhenghao dodged nimbly, the basement debris shattering under the blade's glare, sending wood chips flying. Each dangerous evasion sent his heart pounding like thunder, and cold sweat drenched his back.

"Chen Yao, now!" Ouyang Zhenghao took advantage of the gap between the figure's attacks and shouted loudly.

Without hesitation, Chen Yao pressed the button on the energy jammer. A dazzling blue energy wave roared out, like an enraged blue beast, hurtling straight towards the figure. The moment the energy wave struck the figure, it shimmered with intense light, scattering the sinister black mist. The figure let out a painful roar, a piercing sound that seemed to pierce the soul. Its movements instantly slowed, its once determined steps becoming unsteady.

Lin Yu seized the opportunity, ignoring the pain in his body, and rushed towards the figure like a cheetah. His eyes were filled with determination, and he raised his weapon high and stabbed the figure's mask fiercely. "Break it!" Lin Yu roared.

The moment the weapon pierced the mask, time seemed to freeze. The mask's light shone brightly, countering Lin Yu's weapon. The figure, sensing mortal danger, struggled desperately, trying to escape Lin Yu's attack. Lin Yu gripped the weapon tightly, his feet rooted to the ground, exerting all his strength.

"Hold on, Lin Yu!" Ouyang Zhenghao and Shen Yao shouted in unison, their eyes full of anticipation and nervousness.

Finally, with a crisp "crack," a crack appeared on the mask, quickly spreading. With a "bang," the mask shattered. A powerful burst of energy erupted from the figure, illuminating the entire basement. The figure let out a miserable howl, and its body began to dissipate, transforming into a cloud of black smoke that slowly drifted into the air.

Lin Yu and the other two collapsed to the ground exhausted, gasping for breath. "Finally... it's over, right?" Ouyang Zhenghao said weakly, his eyes filled with relief at having survived.

Lin Yu slowly stood up, looked around, and said vigilantly: "We can't relax yet, there may be other dangers in this building. And we have to find out the truth behind all this." He knew very well that although the battle was temporarily won, the mystery has not been completely solved, and the danger may not have really gone away.

Chen Yao climbed up from the ground and walked over to the wall where she had found the bloody handprints, continuing her study. "The negative energy of these bloody handprints seems to be somehow connected to the evil power of that figure. Perhaps the Japanese invaders performed some kind of evil ritual here, resulting in the deaths of countless innocent people. Their resentment and the invaders' evil power intertwined, causing the strange phenomena in this building." Chen Yao spoke as she carefully examined the marks on the wall.

After thinking for a moment, Lin Yu said, "It's very likely. The geographical location of this building may also be special, which can gather these evil energies. Let's continue looking to see if there are other clues and figure it all out." Lin Yu's eyes revealed determination. He was determined to uncover the truth hidden behind this and let the wronged souls rest in peace.
