Chapter 472: Further Exploration of the Inner Earth (Part 1)

Zhao Yang glanced around warily, leaning forward slightly, his hand firmly on his weapon, ready to respond to any unexpected situation. "It feels eerie here, as if countless eyes are watching us from the shadows. Every whisper is like the whisper of a monster hidden in the darkness, making me feel uneasy," Zhao Yang whispered, his body tense like a cheetah about to be released from its cage. His intuition told him that danger was approaching like a ghost, pouncing from the darkness at any moment to kill them.

The three of them exchanged glances, their eyes conveying a firm conviction. They knew that what lay ahead might be an unprecedented and terrifying challenge, but to uncover the truth behind the missing researchers and uncover the mysteries of the inner world, they had no choice but to resolutely step into this mysterious cave filled with unknowns and dangers.

The cave was dark and damp, permeated by a pungent, putrid odor, as if countless ages of decay and evil had converged here. Strange lights flickered on the walls, appearing and disappearing like ghostly eyes, coldly gazing at them from the darkness. Their footsteps echoed through the silent cavern, each step seeming to shatter the tranquility of the darkness. The sound echoed through the cavernous layers, as if countless figures were following them. Suddenly, a cold wind howled from the depths of the cavern, bringing a biting chill that seemed to freeze their very souls. This wind was tinged with faint sounds, like low, desperate roars, or painful, miserable moans, swirling and echoing through the cavern, leaving a chilling impression.

"This wind... feels off. Something sinister seems to be coming with it," Zhao Yang said warily, his hand tightly gripping his weapon, his knuckles turning white from the strain, and the veins in his arm bulging. His heartbeat raced, threatening to burst through his chest. A powerful sense of unease surged over him, as if invisible hands were reaching out from the darkness, trying to drag them into an endless abyss.

Lin Yu also keenly sensed something was amiss. He quickly flicked on his flashlight, its beam flickering in the darkness, as if threatened to be swallowed by it at any moment. In the light, they seemed to see a blurry figure flash by, incredibly fast, like a ghost. The figure seemed to be condensed from the darkness, leaving only a fleeting outline. It was impossible to see its appearance clearly, but a strong evil aura could be felt.

"What is that?" Ye Li asked nervously, her voice trembling slightly as she unconsciously leaned closer to Lin Yu. At that moment, her heart was filled with fear and curiosity. As an expert in the occult, she had witnessed many strange phenomena, but the unknown figure before her filled her with an unprecedented chill. She didn't know if this figure was the transformed form of a missing expedition member, or some sinister creature from the inner world. This uncertainty kept her nerves on edge.

Lin Yu took a deep breath, trying to sound calm and composed. "Don't panic. Perhaps the strange environment here is causing us to misunderstand. But everyone must remain vigilant and be prepared for any emergency." Despite his words, Lin Yu's heart was filled with doubt and alarm. What was that fleeting figure? Was it the resentment left behind by the missing scientific expedition personnel who had suffered an unfortunate fate, or some unknown evil creature spying in the dark? What horrors would they encounter in this mysterious cave? Everything was unknown, and the tense atmosphere in this dark cave grew ever thicker, like an invisible net enveloping them, making it almost impossible to breathe...
