Lin Yu, Zhao Yang, and Ye Li were locked in a bitter, stalemate battle with the eerie figure in the cave, a scene filled with a pungent, rancid stench and a tense, almost frozen atmosphere. Though exhausted and covered in wounds, the resolve in their eyes remained unwavering, knowing full well that there was no turning back.
"This won't work. We must seize this brief window of opportunity and deliver a fatal blow!" Lin Yu shouted, his voice echoing through the cave with a desperate determination. He stared intently at the frantic attacking figure, his mind racing, trying to find a flaw in the split second before it struck. Every breath was accompanied by a sharp pain in his chest, but he fought it, focusing his full attention on his opponent. He knew that in this life-or-death struggle, any negligence could lead to total defeat. His teammates were relying on him, so he couldn't afford to retreat.
Zhao Yang gritted his teeth, beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, and blood and sweat mixed together and flowed down his cheeks. "Okay, I'll continue to distract its attention, you wait for the right moment!" Zhao Yang roared, brandishing his weapon again and rushing towards the figure. Although his physical fatigue made his movements a little slow, he still relied on his tenacious will to try to restrain the strange monster. In his heart, he had both fear of the unknown and a firm belief in completing the mission and protecting his teammates. Every confrontation with the figure was like brushing against death, but he was not afraid at all, and only wanted to create opportunities for Lin Yu.
Ye Li gripped the energy detector tightly, never daring to look away from the screen. The data flashing across it seemed like their last hope. She worried about the safety of Lin Yu and Zhao Yang, yet she also diligently searched the data for more clues to the figure's weaknesses, hoping to provide effective assistance to her teammates.
The figure seemed to sense their intentions and let out a sharp roar, the sound like a sharp blade slicing through everyone's eardrums, causing a splitting headache. Then, its body suddenly accelerated, moving through the cave like a ghost, its attacks becoming more frantic and elusive. Zhao Yang dodged left and right, suffering several more wounds, but he gritted his teeth and persisted, constantly attacking the figure with his weapon, trying to disrupt its rhythm.
Lin Yu seized the opportunity, and while the figure was attacking Zhao Yang, he rushed towards it like a cheetah. He concentrated all his strength on his weapon, ready to strike the moment the energy in the figure's chest gathered. However, the figure seemed to sense the threat from behind. As Lin Yu approached, it suddenly turned and grabbed Lin Yu with a hand like a steel clamp. Lin Yu was unable to dodge, and his arm was scratched and bleeding.
"Lin Yu!" Ye Li shouted in horror. Lin Yu endured the pain and quickly retreated to reunite with Zhao Yang.
"This monster is too cunning. We need to find a new way," Lin Yu said. A flicker of frustration flashed across his eyes, but it was quickly replaced by determination. He was deeply anxious. With each passing second, their situation became more dangerous. The fate of the missing expedition members was uncertain, and they were locked in a bitter battle with this powerful monster. He had to come up with a solution quickly.
Zhao Yang panted, looked at Lin Yu's injured arm, and said, "We can't fight like this, we have to outsmart him."
Ye Li nervously observed the energy detection device while saying, "Although its energy is powerful, this unstable state may be our breakthrough. If we can take advantage of the temporary imbalance when its energy is concentrated, we may be able to find an opportunity to severely damage it."
Lin Yu thought for a moment and said, "Zhao Yang, you will feign an attack to lure it into attacking. Lin Yu seized the opportunity and rushed towards the figure from the side, stabbing its chest with his weapon. At the same time, Ye Li quickly adjusted the energy detection device and sent a interference wave towards the figure.
The moment the interference wave struck the figure, its body trembled slightly, disrupting the process of energy accumulation. Lin Yu's weapon successfully pierced the figure's chest, and black blood gushed out like a fountain, accompanied by a strong stench of decay. The figure let out a shrill scream and began to tremble violently.
"Success! Keep attacking!" Lin Yu shouted. Zhao Yang and Lin Yu ignored the figure's resistance and continued to attack its injured chest. Under the attack of the two, the figure gradually lost its ability to resist and slowly fell to the ground.
The three of them breathed a sigh of relief as they watched the fallen figure. However, they knew that this was only the first challenge after entering the inner world, and they didn't know how many dangers awaited them ahead.
