Fuxian Lake Underwater Corpse Bank (Part 2)
Underwater, Lin Yu stared intently at the stone door engraved with strange symbols, his heartbeat racing. He knew that behind this stone door might lie the terrifying secret of Fuxian Lake's underwater morgue, but these mysterious symbols stood like an insurmountable barrier, hindering his pursuit of the truth. "These symbols must hold the key to unlocking the stone door, but I haven't grasped the secret yet," he muttered, his voice muffled and suppressed in the water, as if swallowed by the endless darkness. His heart was filled with doubt and anxiety, eager to uncover the secrets behind the stone door, yet wary of the unknown dangers.
After hearing Lin Yu's description on the boat, Ye Li quickly dug out the thick research volume on ancient mystical symbols from her backpack. Her brow furrowed, her eyes etched with eager concentration as she quickly flipped through the yellowed pages. "Lin Yu, describe the characteristics of those symbols as thoroughly as possible, paying attention to even the smallest detail. These symbols may originate from an ancient, lost culture. Perhaps there are clues to their origin in the literature." Ye Li knew that deciphering these symbols was a crucial task at hand, and no carelessness was tolerated. Her heartbeat quickened with the tense atmosphere, worried about Lin Yu's safety underwater but also eager to quickly uncover useful information from the literature.
Lin Yu leaned closer to the stone door, carefully examining the symbols, striving to clearly describe their shapes, lines, and arrangement to Ye Li. "The lines of the symbols are very strange, winding and zigzagging, like the movement of some mysterious creature. Some resemble eyes, with complex patterns in the center, as if the pupils hold a deeper secret. Surrounding them are irregular geometric shapes, nested triangles and diamonds, and some of the lines have incisions of varying depths, as if to deliberately emphasize certain messages." Lin Yu said, his eyes fixed on the stone door, not missing a single detail, as if he wanted to engrave every detail of the symbols in his mind.
Ye Li listened to Lin Yu's description while frantically searching through the documents. Her fingers flicked through the pages, her eyes revealing a hint of anxiety and anticipation. "According to what you said, these symbols may be closely connected to ancient sacrificial culture. In some ancient legends and texts, eye patterns often symbolize protection, insight, or communication with supernatural forces. The nesting of these geometric shapes may represent some ritual process or mysterious power structure. However, the specific connection to the opening of the stone gate is not clearly stated in the documents," Ye Li said, her tone tinged with frustration and disappointment. She knew that solving the mystery of the symbols would be difficult with the existing information alone, but she did not give up hope and continued to search for possible clues in the documents.
At that moment, Zhao Yang, who had been observing silently, suddenly spoke up. "Lin Yu, think about it. Could these symbols, like some of the traps we've encountered before, require a specific sequence to trigger? Perhaps based on the depth of the incisions, or some hidden connection between the patterns?" Zhao Yang's eyes flickered with thought. He recalled past adventures, trying to find solutions to similar predicaments. He knew that in this mysterious underwater world, any bold guess could be the key to solving the mystery.
Lin Yu's heart moved, and he carefully observed the symbols on the stone door again. He found that the color of several symbols seemed to be darker than the others, and their positions were relatively concentrated, forming an irregular shape. Inside this shape, the direction of the lines seemed to have some subtle pattern. "Zhao Yang, what you said makes sense. There are several darker symbols here, and the arrangement seems to have a certain pattern. I will try to touch them according to this pattern to see what the reaction will be. But to be honest, I still feel a little unsure. I don't know if doing so will trigger danger." Lin Yu said, his heart was full of expectation and some uneasiness. He was looking forward to this guess to successfully open the stone door, and he was uneasily worried that if he made a wrong judgment, it might trigger an unexpected crisis.
Lin Yu took a deep breath, slowly reached out his hand, and gently touched the darker symbols in the order he had deduced. When his finger touched the first symbol, a faint electric current ran through his fingertips, causing him to tremble slightly. But he didn't retreat, continuing to touch the other symbols in order. As the last symbol was touched, a faint light suddenly illuminated the stone gate, spreading along the lines of the symbols, as if breathing life into the ancient stone gate. Then, a dull rumbling sound echoed through the water, as if a giant beast, slumbering for thousands of years, had awakened. The stone gate slowly opened, and a stale, decaying smell filled his face, causing Lin Yu to frown, a sense of foreboding welling up in his heart.
"The stone door is open, but the smell inside isn't right, like something has been rotting for a long time. This smell makes me a little worried. I don't know what danger is hidden behind the door." Lin Yu said, his voice trembling and his heartbeat suddenly accelerating. At this moment, his heart was filled with fear and curiosity. Fear was that the unknown danger could come at any time, and curiosity was that the secret behind the stone door was about to be revealed.
"Lin Yu, be careful! This smell might be poisonous. Don't rush in yet. Wait until it dissipates. Also, pay attention to your surroundings for any other anomalies. We'll be keeping a close eye on your movements on board," Ye Li said anxiously, her eyes glued to the monitoring equipment, trying to determine from the data whether the environment inside the door was safe. She was filled with worry, knowing that Lin Yu was standing on the brink of danger. Any negligence could lead to catastrophic consequences.
