Fuxian Lake Underwater Corpse Repository (Part 2)
Lin Yu felt a chill wash over him as the eerie figure pounced like a ghost, its speed leaving him barely enough time to react. Instinctively, he swung his weapon with all his might. A flash of cold light flashed as the weapon grazed the figure's arm. Instantly, a thick, black liquid gushed out of the wound, spreading rapidly through the water, emitting a sickening, rancid odor. The smell, like a thousand tiny insects, followed Lin Yu's breath into his nostrils, sending a churning sensation through his stomach.
"What the hell is that!" Lin Yu screamed in terror, his voice distorted in the water, filled with unconcealed fear. His heart felt like it was about to burst out of his throat, each beat accompanied by intense palpitations. He stared wide-eyed at the terrifying figure before him, his brain racing, trying to figure out a response. He knew that if he wasn't careful, he would be killed.
Ye Li and Zhao Yang heard Lin Yu's terrified cries from the boat, their hearts instantly in their throats. Ye Li gripped the communication device tightly, her knuckles turning white from the strain, and anxiously called out, "Lin Yu, are you okay? What happened?" Her voice trembled slightly, her eyes filled with worry and fear, and beads of sweat covered her forehead and trickled down her cheeks.
Lin Yu stared at the figure vigilantly to prevent it from attacking again, and responded quickly: "I encountered an extremely strange humanoid creature. It looked terrifying, with skin as pale as a dead person, eyes empty and lifeless, and lips purple and black. It just launched a fierce attack on me." There was a hint of trembling in Lin Yu's voice, but years of adventure experience made him try to stay calm and describe the situation to his teammates as clearly as possible.
The figure let out a deep, sharp roar, like a howl from the depths of hell, causing Lin Yu's eardrums to ache. The roar echoed endlessly in the enclosed underwater space, like a demonic curse. Then, it swung its arms again, lunging at Lin Yu at an even faster pace. Its hands were like sharp claws, flashing with an eerie, cold light, aiming directly for Lin Yu's throat.
Lin Yu quickly dodged sideways, his body nimbly twisting in the water. The sharp claws scraped across his wetsuit, leaving deep marks. A few inches further and it would have lacerated his skin. "This thing is too powerful. Its attack speed and power are beyond imagination. Ordinary attacks seem to have no effect on it," Lin Yu shouted anxiously, knowing full well that he was facing an unprecedented crisis.
Zhao Yang paced back and forth anxiously on the boat, veins bulging on his forehead, and shouted, "Ye Li, we have to find a way to help Lin Yu quickly! It's too dangerous for him to be alone down there!" His eyes were full of anxiety and worry, and he wished he could jump into the water immediately to fight alongside Lin Yu.
Ye Li's brow furrowed, her mind racing as she pondered a response. "Lin Yu, try to avoid its attacks first. Observe its movements carefully for any obvious weaknesses, such as joints, eyes, or throat. We'll also find ways to assist you in other areas on board," Ye Li said. Her voice was steady, but her heart was filled with anxiety. She stared intently at the monitoring equipment, hoping to find some useful clues to help Lin Yu escape his predicament.
Lin Yu dodged the figure's flurry of attacks while forcing himself to calm down and focus on its every move. He noticed that whenever the figure turned to attack, a patch of lighter skin would briefly appear at the back of its neck. There, he saw visible blood vessels, which pulsed slightly with its movements. "I think I've found its weak spot. It's at the back of its neck, where the skin is relatively thin and the blood vessels are noticeable. I'll try to strike when I get a chance. But its attacks are too fierce, making it hard to get close," Lin Yu said, a glimmer of hope in his eyes, but he also knew that successfully attacking that weak spot would be no easy task.
As the figure lunged again, Lin Yu feigned impatience, deliberately slowing down his movements to reveal his weakness. Seeing this, the figure sped up, claws extended, as if determined to capture him. Just as it was about to snatch Lin Yu, Lin Yu suddenly exerted force, using the buoyancy of the water to quickly swim behind it. He gritted his teeth, concentrated all his strength, aimed at the lighter area at the back of the neck, and thrust with all his might.
The moment the weapon penetrated, a thicker black liquid gushed out, splashing onto Lin Yu's mask. The figure let out a shrill scream, so sharp and piercing that it seemed to pierce Lin Yu's eardrums. Its body began to twist violently, struggling frantically, trying to break free from Lin Yu's weapon. Lin Yu held the weapon tightly, kicking his feet hard against the surrounding objects to prevent himself from being thrown away. After a fierce struggle, the figure's movements gradually slowed, and its strength continued to weaken. Finally, it slowly sank to the bottom of the water and stopped moving.
"Finally solved." Lin Yu breathed a sigh of relief, but he still didn't dare relax, keeping a vigilant eye on the fallen figure. He knew that this mysterious space might still harbor other unknown dangers. His body was exhausted from the excessive tension and strenuous exercise, but his mind remained highly focused.
"Lin Yu, are you okay? It's too dangerous. You must be careful!" Ye Li asked with concern. Hearing that Lin Yu successfully repelled the mysterious figure, she breathed a sigh of relief, but her worries were still not completely dissipated.
"I'm fine. But this place is getting weirder and weirder, filled with unknown dangers. I have to keep exploring to see if I can find more clues about the underwater morgue and figure out the truth behind it all," Lin Yu said, his eyes fixed firmly on the massive sarcophagus. Despite having just experienced a life-and-death struggle, his determination to uncover the truth remained undimmed.
