Return and Rebirth
The helicopter landed at a safe base, its massive propellers slowly pausing, the dust rising from it gradually settling. Medical staff quickly collected everyone, stretchers clattering as they hurriedly moved across the ground.
Lin Yu lay in his hospital bed, his gaunt face framed by the white sheets. His eyes were hollow, his mind still lingering on that terrifying forest. Every detail, every moment of life and death, flashed through his mind like a movie. The whipping of branches, the roar of wild beasts, the fear of the unknown... it seemed as if it still clung to him.
At this moment, Suna tiptoed in. Her steps were very light, afraid to disturb Lin Yu. "Lin Yu, how are you feeling?" Suna asked with concern, her voice gentle but tinged with worry. Her eyes fell on Lin Yu's face, trying to read his expression to determine his condition.
Lin Yu turned his head slightly and forced a smile. "Much better, but I still remember those horrible experiences." His voice was weak, as if each word required immense effort. "Those images keep popping up in my mind, and I can't get them out of my head." His eyes revealed a deep fear and helplessness.
Suna walked over to the bedside and took his hand. Her hand was warm, trying to give him some strength. "It's all over. We made it back alive." Her voice was soft but firm, as if stating an undeniable fact. "We've overcome so many difficulties. We will definitely be able to get out of this shadow." Her heart was actually filled with fear and anxiety, but in front of Lin Yu, she tried to appear strong.
Old Chen also walked into the ward with heavy steps, his face still etched with fatigue and age. "It's really not easy to come back this time," he sighed, his voice filled with emotion. "I thought we were all going to die in that forest, but I didn't expect to find our way out alive one day." He walked to the window, looked out at the view, and his thoughts seemed to return to that dangerous forest.
After a period of recuperation, everyone gradually recovered. Sunlight streamed through the windows into the ward, bringing a glimmer of warmth and hope. However, this experience left a deep psychological scar on them. At night, when they closed their eyes, the gloomy forest, the terrifying beast, and the unknown dangers would flood into their dreams like a tide.
Lin Yu returned to the forest in his dream. Thick fog filled the air, and he was groping alone in it, feeling terrified with every step. Suddenly, the giant beast leaped out of the darkness, its maw gaping. He ran desperately, but couldn't find a way out.
"Ah!" Lin Yu woke up from his dream, his clothes soaked with sweat. He gasped for breath, his heartbeat accelerated rapidly, and his eyes were filled with fear.
Suna often dreams of being chased by wild beasts. She desperately calls for help, but no one responds. Every time she wakes from a dream, she feels extremely lonely and scared.
Lao Chen dreamed that he was lost in the forest and couldn't get out. The darkness around him seemed to swallow him up.
In order to get rid of the shadow, everyone decided to face it together, talk to each other and support each other.
Everyone sat together in a quiet room.
"Every time I think of that beast, I'm still terrified," one team member said, his voice trembling, his hands clutching the hems of his clothes. "Its enormous body, sharp claws, and terrifying roar—it's as if it were right before my eyes." His eyes were filled with fear, and his body trembled uncontrollably.
"But we overcame it together. That's our courage and strength," Lin Yu encouraged. His voice was firm, but a hint of fatigue lingered in his eyes. "We can't be defeated by fear. We must bravely face the past to move towards the future." He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself.
"But I'm really scared. I'm afraid those nightmares will never end." Another team member cried, tears streaming down his cheeks, and the fear in his heart almost made him collapse.
"Don't be afraid, we are together, we are a team." Suna comforted, she gently patted the team member's shoulder, giving him strength and courage.
Everyone talked to each other, sharing their fears and anxieties, and encouraging each other.
They began to return to their normal lives, trying to get everything back on track. Lin Yu walked on the bustling streets, the sun shining on him, but he was always unconsciously alert to his surroundings. Every strange sound, every sudden appearance, would make his nerves tense instantly.
Suna works in an office, but she often panics at the slightest disturbance.
Whenever Lao Chen takes a walk in the park and sees a dense forest, he will think of the terrifying forest and a chill will surge in his heart.
One day, they received a mysterious package. The package looked ordinary, but it exuded a mysterious atmosphere.
When they opened it, they found the items they had lost in the forest, including Lin Yu's compass, Suna's necklace, Lao Chen's lighter, etc. There was also a note that read: "Your courage makes the forest in awe."
Everyone looked at each other, their hearts full of doubts.
"Who sent this? Why did you send these things to us?" Suna held the note with a frown on her face.
"Could it be that there is some mysterious existence in the forest that has been watching us?" Lao Chen guessed.
"Anyway, this package makes me feel that things are not over yet." Lin Yu said, his eyes full of worry.
