Chapter 480: The Mysterious Ancient Kingdom Underwater in Fuxian Lake (Part 2)

The Mysterious Ancient Kingdom Underwater in Fuxian Lake (Part 2)

Deep underwater, Lin Yu felt a growing sense of being watched, as if eyes from the darkness were watching his every move. His body tensed instantly, every muscle on alert, and the weapon in his hand trembled slightly from the exertion. "What is watching me from the shadows? This feeling is even more terrifying than last time," Lin Yu pondered. Fear surged like an icy tide, crashing against his defenses. However, years of adventure had swiftly suppressed his fear, and he began to focus on capturing even the slightest changes in his surroundings.

Ye Li, hearing Lin Yu's nervous report from the boat, tensed her already tense nerves even further, her expression growing even more serious. "Lin Yu, you must remain calm! Don't act rashly. Try to illuminate your surroundings with your headlamp. Observe every corner carefully to see if you can spot anything unusual. Perhaps it's just testing you. Don't panic," Ye Li said. Although she tried to sound calm, the slight tremor in her voice betrayed her inner nervousness. She knew full well that in these mysterious underwater ruins of an ancient kingdom, the slightest mistake could lead to fatal danger, and Lin Yu was now alone at the center of this dangerous vortex.

Lin Yu took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. He slowly turned, sweeping the light from his headlamp around like a searchlight. At the edge of the light, a massive black shadow flashed by like a ghost, so fast that it left only a blurry afterimage on his retina. The vague outline resembled some aquatic creature, but its size was beyond imagination, several times larger than any creature he had ever seen in any water. "I think I saw a huge black shadow, but it was so fast that I couldn't see it clearly. It felt like an aquatic monster I'd never seen before. What exactly is this? Could it be a mysterious creature guarding the ruins of an ancient kingdom?" Lin Yu said, his voice trembling. At this moment, his heart was filled with fear and curiosity. The fear stemmed from the fear of the unknown monster's immense power, while the curiosity drove him to understand the intricate connection between this monster and the mysterious ancient kingdom.

Zhao Yang was terrified on the boat, his hands unconsciously clenched into fists, his knuckles turning white from the exertion. "Lin Yu, how about I come down and help you now? This damn place is too dangerous, you can't handle it alone!" He shouted, his eyes revealing deep worry and anxiety, and he wanted to jump into the water immediately and fight alongside Lin Yu to face the unknown danger together.

Lin Yu quickly responded, "Don't come down yet, Zhao Yang! The situation here is unclear and the underwater environment is complex. If you rush down, it might make things worse. I'll wait and see what it does next and try not to provoke it. We can't act blindly; we must act with caution." Lin Yu knew that in this narrow underwater space fraught with unknown dangers, hastily adding more people could trigger a series of unpredictable consequences, making the situation even more difficult to control. He had to rely on his own abilities to first understand the mysterious creature's movement patterns and intentions.

Lin Yu remained on high alert, his eyes fixed on the direction where the shadow had just appeared, not daring to look away for a moment. Suddenly, the shadow reappeared. This time, it did not disappear as quickly as before, but slowly approached Lin Yu. As it gradually approached, under the dim light of the headlamp, Lin Yu finally saw its appearance clearly. It was a huge creature, somewhat similar in overall shape to a catfish, but with six thick tentacles, each covered with sharp barbs, which flashed a cold light in the light, like a sharp dagger. Its eyes were the size of lanterns, emitting a strange green light, as if it was a ghost fire from hell, which made people shudder. The huge mouth opened slightly, revealing rows of sharp teeth, as if ready to tear the prey in front of it into pieces at any time.

"I've got a clear view of that thing. It looks like a catfish, but with six tentacles and glowing green eyes. It looks incredibly dangerous. It's slowly approaching me, and it feels like death is creeping closer," Lin Yu said. He instinctively stepped back slightly, gripping his weapon tightly, aiming it at the monster, ready to respond at any moment. His mind raced, mulling over a strategy. He was well aware that the monster's size and strange form suggested it was no friend. A head-on confrontation would likely put him in a desperate situation. He had to find its weakness quickly to stand a chance.

On the boat, Ye Li quickly searched for information on aquatic life, trying to find any clues related to this monster in the vast amount of information. "Lin Yu, I haven't found any records that fully match this monster. But judging by its appearance, its tentacles may be important organs for attacking and sensing its surroundings. Try to avoid the tentacles' attack range and look for opportunities to attack its eyes or abdomen, as these areas may be relatively vulnerable. Be extremely careful, as it looks very aggressive and may launch a fierce attack at any time." Ye Li said, her eyes revealing deep concern and anxiety. She hoped that her advice would help Lin Yu find a solution in this critical moment and escape his current predicament.

Lin Yu nodded slightly, though Ye Li couldn't see his movements. His eyes were fixed on the monster, never daring to relax, watching its every move. The monster suddenly let out a deep roar, the sound muffled through the water, causing Lin Yu's eardrums to ache, as if an invisible hammer were hammering at his head. Then, it quickly extended a tentacle, like a flash of black lightning, and lunged towards Lin Yu. Startled, Lin Yu quickly dodged to the side, relying on his years of diving experience and quick reflexes to successfully avoid the attack. The tentacle grazed his body, its sharp barbs nearly piercing his diving suit. A mere fraction of a second would have left deep wounds on his body. "It's attacking! The tentacles are so fast, it's impossible to defend against and it's hard to dodge. I must be more careful, or I'll get hit," Lin Yu shouted, nervous and anxious. He understood that this was just a tentative attack by the monster, and that there would likely be a more violent and deadly attack next. He had to find a way to deal with it as soon as possible, otherwise the consequences would be disastrous.
