Chapter 49: The Mystery of the Mysterious Package

The Mystery of the Mysterious Package

Everyone sat around in the room, their eyes focused on the mysterious package. The room was filled with a solemn and doubtful atmosphere.

"This is so strange! Who would send these things to us?" Suna frowned. Her voice broke the silence, but it did nothing to alleviate the oppressive tension in the room. Her eyes were fixed on the package, as if she wanted to see through it to the truth hidden behind it.

Old Chen touched his chin, thinking: "Is there someone else in the forest? Or some kind of mysterious power?" His eyes revealed a hint of worry and fear. Recalling his experience in the forest, he couldn't help but shudder.

Lin Yu picked up the note and carefully examined the handwriting. It looked like it was written with an ancient quill pen, and the strokes were somewhat stiff. "Whoever it is, it seems like they know a lot about our experience." Lin Yu's voice was low and hoarse. His eyes moved from the note to the items in the package, and he was filled with doubt.

Everyone started discussing it.

"Could it be that mysterious weirdo?" one team member said, his voice trembling. "Maybe he's been following us."

"Impossible. His attitude was so bad at that time, why would he suddenly send us these things?" another team member retorted.

"Maybe it's the gods of the forest? Rewarding us for our courage?" Someone else came up with another bizarre idea.

"Don't talk nonsense. There are no gods." Old Chen interrupted, "But this is really too strange. We must get to the bottom of it."

They decided to start their investigation by looking at the source of the package. Lin Yu and Lao Chen asked around and visited nearby residents, asking if they had seen anyone suspicious or anything.

Lin Yu knocked on the door of a farmer's house and an old man opened the door.

"Old man, have you seen anyone sending packages or something like that recently?" Lin Yu asked politely.

The old man shook his head and said, "Son, we rarely have outsiders coming here, let alone sending packages."

Old Chen asked the staff at the village post office, "Comrade, can you help me find out where this package was sent from?"

After checking, the staff said helplessly: "This package does not have any sender information. I am very sorry."

No matter how hard they tried, they still had no clue.

Just when everyone felt confused and helpless, Lin Yu received an anonymous text message.

"If you want to know the truth, see you at the old warehouse tonight at twelve o'clock."

When Lin Yu told everyone the content of the text message, the team members' faces turned pale instantly.

"Could this be a trap?" someone said worriedly, his voice trembling and his body involuntarily shrinking back.

Lin Yu pondered for a moment, "It's possible, but this may be our only chance to solve the mystery."

Suna's face was filled with anxiety. "Lin Yu, if it's a trap, our lives might be in danger if we go there."

Old Chen gritted his teeth and said, "But if we don't go, we will always be troubled by this mystery and live in fear forever."

"But..." A team member wanted to say something, but was interrupted by Lin Yu.

"Don't be afraid, everyone. We have been through so much together, and we will be able to handle it this time." Lin Yu's eyes were firm, as if he had injected courage into everyone.

Night fell quickly, and as the clock struck twelve, the night sky was starless, with only a faint, hazy moon emitting a faint glow. The group arrived at the eerie, dilapidated warehouse. It stood alone in a wasteland, surrounded by overgrown weeds. The wind rustled the grass, creating a rustling sound that sounded like the whispers of countless ghosts.

The door of the warehouse was closed, but a faint light shone through the window next to it. The light flickered in the darkness, as if it would go out at any time.

"This place looks really creepy." A team member muttered softly, his voice sounding particularly clear in the quiet night.

Lin Yu took a deep breath, walked forward and gently pushed the door. The door slowly opened with a creaking sound. The sound was particularly harsh in the silence, as if it was a call from hell.

Everyone walked into the warehouse, which was filled with an old smell, a mixture of rust and rotten wood. The ground was covered with dust, and every step left a clear footprint.

Suddenly, a dark shadow flashed past them from behind.

"Who?" Lin Yu shouted vigilantly, his voice echoing in the empty warehouse.
