Survival in the Brink
Everyone's hearts instantly sank to the bottom, as if they had fallen into an endless abyss of darkness. Fear, like a black tide, spread rapidly through everyone's eyes, devouring their sanity bit by bit.
"We can't just sit there and wait for death. We have to fight them!" one team member gritted his teeth, his voice hoarse with anger and fear. His eyes were bloodshot, and he clutched a crude wooden stick tightly in his hand, as if it were his last straw. "We can't just let them do whatever they want!" His heart was filled with despair and anger, and he was ready to fight to the death.
Lin Yu took a deep breath, trying to remain calm. His mind raced, pondering a response. "Don't be impulsive. Let's see how things develop." His voice was calm, but the slight tremor betrayed his inner nervousness. "We can't act blindly, or it will only make the situation worse." His gaze was fixed on the mysterious figure outside, filled with worry.
At this moment, the mysterious leader spoke. His voice was deep and commanding, like a sentence from hell. "If you hand over the box, I'll let you live." His eyes were cold and ruthless, revealing an irresistible aura.
Lin Yu unflinchingly replied, "Don't even think about it! We haven't figured out the secrets of this box yet, and we won't give it to you, a bunch of unidentified people!" His voice was firm and powerful, his eyes gleaming with a stubborn glint. "This box might be the key to solving all these mysteries. We can't let you use it to do evil!" His heart was filled with a sense of justice, and he would never bow to evil.
The mysterious leader snorted coldly, the sound echoing through the air, sending shivers down one's spine. "If you refuse my toast, I'll punish you. Search them!" At his command, the mysterious men dismounted, their movements in unison, a testament to their meticulous training. Heavy footsteps echoed across the sand, like a countdown to their deaths.
Old Chen whispered, "Prepare for battle! Even if we die, we won't let them succeed!" His voice was steady and resolute, giving everyone a sense of courage. "We can't let them underestimate us!" He gripped the stick tightly, his knuckles turning white from the effort.
At this critical moment, a sudden roar erupted from the sky. The sound, coming from far away and approaching like rolling thunder, shattered the dead silence of the desert. Everyone looked up and saw a helicopter appear overhead. The helicopter's propellers stirred the air, creating a powerful blast that sent sand flying all over the sky.
A rope was lowered from the helicopter, and several fully armed men descended. They were dressed in black combat uniforms, helmets, and goggles, and were holding advanced weapons, looking very heroic.
"It's rescue! We're saved!" Suna cried excitedly, her voice filled with surprise and hope. Tears welled up in her eyes, and at that moment, she felt as if she saw the light of life. "Finally, our savior!" Her heart was filled with joy, and her body trembled slightly with excitement.
The mysterious men were immediately thrown into disarray upon seeing this. Their originally confident demeanor instantly collapsed, and they began to panic.
"Don't panic, deal with these people first!" The mysterious leader shouted loudly, but his voice could no longer stabilize the morale of his men.
The rescuers quickly engaged the mysterious man. Their movements were swift and decisive, each one powerful. "Don't move! Put down your weapons!" the rescuers' voices were commanding and powerful.
The mysterious man tried to resist, but was quickly subdued by the powerful offensive of the rescuers.
"Are you all okay?" the rescue team leader asked, his voice filled with concern, his eyes revealing his worry for everyone.
Lin Yu and the others were so excited that tears welled up in their eyes. "It's okay, thanks to you guys for arriving in time." Lin Yu's voice trembled, and his heart was filled with gratitude. "We almost thought we were dead."
"Don't worry, we will take you away from here." said the rescue team leader.
Everyone boarded the helicopter, the roar of the propellers resounding as they gazed at the desert receding into the distance, their hearts filled with emotion.
"Finally we left this damn place," said one of the team members, his voice full of fatigue and relief.
Suna leaned back in her seat. "This is all like a nightmare."
Lin Yu looked at the box in his hand, "But maybe this box can help us find the truth behind all this."
The helicopter flew away in the afterglow of the setting sun, carrying them away from this terrifying desert...
