Chapter 6: The Oath to Protect Changbai Mountain

The Oath to Protect Changbai Mountain

After successfully repelling the mysterious organization, Lin Yu, Suna, Lao Chen, and the guard team remained on edge. They knew that this victory was only a small episode in a long battle. The enemy, like a vicious wolf lurking in the darkness, could pounce again at any time, and the peace of Changbai Mountain was still as shaky as a candle in the wind.

In order to better deal with possible threats in the future, they decided to further strengthen the defenses of Changbai Mountain and conduct in-depth research on the sealing mechanism of the mysterious power to ensure its indestructibility.

On a quiet, dark, and windy night, all was silent except for the rustling of the trees by the night wind. Lin Yu stood alone on the summit of Changbai Mountain, the closest point to the sky and the perfect vantage point for a panoramic view of the entire mountain. The cold moonlight streamed down upon him like water, outlining his resolute and solitary figure. His eyes were deep and worried, as if he bore the weight of Changbai Mountain.

"No matter how many hardships and obstacles the future holds, I will hold fast to this land. This is my eternal vow." Lin Yu whispered softly to the vast, silent, and deep forest before him. His voice drifted on the wind, as if blending into this ancient land. Every word was filled with unparalleled resolve, like an inscription carved in stone, indelible.

Meanwhile, at the camp at the foot of the mountain, Suna and Lao Chen were immersed in a bustle of activity. Inside the tent, flickering candlelight illuminated the mountain of documents and the dazzling array of equipment. Suna sat at a worn wooden table, her brow furrowed as her quill swiftly moved across the parchment. Her beautiful face, illuminated by the candlelight, looked remarkably focused.

"We must consider all possible scenarios and not make any mistakes," Suna muttered to herself as she flipped through a yellowed ancient magic book. Her eyes were filled with anxiety and determination, and her heartbeat seemed to speed up with each page she turned.

Old Chen, on the other hand, sorted various weapons and tools. His weathered face was etched with traces of time. His movements were slow and steady, and every time he picked up an item, he seemed to be weighing its importance in the future battle.

"That's right, and we need to improve the team members' strength as quickly as possible so they can handle stronger enemies." Old Chen nodded and said solemnly. His voice was low and hoarse, carrying an unquestionable authority.

A few days later, sunlight filtered through the dense foliage, casting dappled shadows across the Changbai Mountains. The defense team began intensive and arduous training and the construction of fortifications. Their sweat fell like rain, mixing with the soil.

At key locations, they meticulously set up magical traps. Hidden among the grass and rocks, these traps were practically invisible to the naked eye. The team meticulously placed magic runes and energy crystals, paying close attention to every detail.

"Be careful, the position of this rune must be accurate, otherwise the trap will not be able to exert its maximum power." Xiao Li, who is responsible for setting the magic trap, reminded his teammates around him.

At the junction of the mountaintop and the valley, they built towering watchtowers. Made of sturdy timber, they had vigilant team members standing atop them, their eyes scanning the surrounding mountains and forests, not missing a single movement.

"Everyone, work harder and make sure the watchtower is built firmly!" shouted Lin Yu, the captain in charge of directing the construction work.

Deep in the camp, they built a supply storage depot filled with food, medicine, and weapons in case of emergency.

However, just as everything was proceeding smoothly, a disturbing anomaly struck Changbai Mountain. The stream, once crystal clear and flowing with a melodious sound, suddenly became murky, with a strange layer of foam floating on the surface. The animals in the mountains seemed terrified and restless. The birds stopped singing, and the squirrels scurried from branch to branch, as if fleeing from some invisible terror.

"This is not a good sign." Lin Yu looked at the scene in front of him and said worriedly. An ominous premonition surged in his heart, as if a cold hand was tightly grasping his heart.

Suna rushed to the stream, squatted down, scooped up some water with her hands, and observed it carefully. "Could there be another problem with the seal?" There was a tremor in her voice, and her eyes were full of confusion and fear.

Old Chen also hurried over. He looked at the muddy stream and pondered for a moment. "It's possible. We need to go check it out." His tone was heavy, as if a heavy burden was weighing on his shoulders.

They led a few core members along the winding mountain road, heading towards the place where the mysterious power was sealed. The atmosphere around them became increasingly strange, with fog filling the air, and the branches and leaves of the trees seemed to stretch out twisted arms towards them.

When they finally reached the sealed area, they discovered that the surrounding magical runes had indeed begun to dim. The runes that had once shone with a mysterious light now seemed like a dying lamp, weak and unstable.

"Oh no, the power of this seal is weakening." Old Chen exclaimed, his voice sounding particularly abrupt in the silent forest.

At this moment, a gust of wind blew past, and the sound of the wind seemed to be mixed with a sinister laughter. The laughter seemed to come from the depths of hell, making people shudder.

"Who is it?" Lin Yu shouted vigilantly, his voice trembling in the wind, but he held the weapon in his hand tighter.

A dark figure slowly emerged from the woods, its figure looming in the mist. "Do you think you can stop me like this?" The shadow's voice was hoarse and evil, full of mockery.
