Survival in the Brink of Despair
As everyone stared at the missing plank, despair spread like a plague. Suna collapsed to the ground, sobbing. Her cries echoed in the darkness like a wail from hell. "We're done, completely finished!" Her voice trembled, her body trembling like a leaf in the autumn wind. "Why is this happening? Why can't we escape?" Her heart was filled with fear and despair, and she felt utterly lost and helpless about the future.
Old Chen gritted his teeth, beads of sweat rolling down his forehead, their clatter almost audible as they hit the ground. His eyes betrayed a reluctance to surrender to fate. "We can't give up like this!" he roared inwardly. "We've been through so much, we can't give up here!" He clenched his fists, his nails digging deep into his palms, yet he felt no pain.
Lin Yu, anxious, shouted, "Don't give up! Let's find something to attach to the planks." His voice trembled in the darkness, yet it was filled with unwavering determination. His heartbeat raced, almost leaping out of his throat. "We can get out, we can!" Every possible solution flashed through his mind, his eyes searching the darkness eagerly.
At this moment, an eerie chill suddenly emerged from the crack. The chill quickly spread like a ghost, like a pair of cold hands, climbing up along everyone's ankles, making them shiver.
"What the hell is this place?" one team member cried, his voice filled with fear and despair. His body trembled continuously, as if frozen by the cold. "I can't take it anymore, I really can't take it anymore!" His spirit almost collapsed, his eyes blurred, and he lost the last glimmer of hope.
Lin Yu, searching through the rubble, encouraged everyone, "Hold on! We'll definitely find a way out!" He was terrified, but he knew he had to stay calm and give everyone hope. "We can't be defeated like this. We have to get out alive!" His voice echoed in the darkness, like a ray of light.
Suddenly, another team member shouted, "Here are some steel pipes that might be useful!" Everyone immediately gathered around, as if they had grabbed the last straw.
"Great, hurry up, let's splice them onto the wooden board!" Lin Yu shouted excitedly.
Everyone worked together to try to splice the steel pipes and wooden boards together. However, the shaking continued, making their work extremely difficult. Each splicing required tremendous effort.
"Come on, we're almost there!" Old Chen shouted, his voice hoarse from the exertion.
Finally, after some hard work, a simple bridge was built.
"Everyone be careful, go one by one!" the rescue team leader warned, his voice serious and tense.
The team members stepped onto the wooden bridge carefully and moved slowly to the other side. With every step, the bridge creaked, as if it would break at any moment.
When the first person successfully crossed the bridge, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. But when the second person was halfway across, the bridge suddenly shook violently.
"Keep calm, don't panic!" Lin Yu shouted loudly.
The man turned pale with fear, but still tried to keep his balance and continued to move forward.
When the last person successfully crossed the bridge, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. However, before they could rejoice, the surroundings changed again. A black liquid began to seep from the wall, emitting a pungent, rancid odor and slowly flowing onto the ground, as if it were the blood of some evil creature.
"This is horrible!" Suna clutched Lin Yu's arm tightly, her body trembling. Her eyes were wide open, filled with fear. "What is this?" Her voice trembled, and she was almost crying.
Lin Yu patted her hand and comforted her, "Don't be afraid, I'm here. Let's keep moving forward and we will definitely find a way to leave here." His eyes were firm, but his heart was also filled with fear.
The group continued to move forward along the passage, their footsteps echoing clearly in the silence. Suddenly, a low roar was heard from the front, echoing in the narrow passage, making people shudder.
"There seems to be something ahead!" Lao Chen said vigilantly, tightening his grip on his weapon. His eyes were full of vigilance, and his body leaned forward slightly, ready to fight at any time.
Everyone slowed down their pace and inched forward. With every step, their heartbeat quickened and their breathing quickened.
As they turned a corner, a gigantic figure appeared before them. It was a beast-like monster, covered in black scales that shimmered eerily in the dim light. Its eyes shone with an eerie red light, like two burning flames, staring fiercely at them.
"Ah!" Suna couldn't help but scream, her voice breaking through the dark silence.
The monster heard the cry and suddenly pounced on them. Its movement was so fast and fierce that it brought up a gust of wind.
Lin Yu shouted, "Everyone be careful!" Then he quickly dodged the monster's attack and threw a punch at the monster. However, the monster's scales were so hard that Lin Yu's fist felt like it was hitting a steel plate, causing his arm to go numb.
"So hard!" Lin Yu was shocked.
The other team members also took action and started a fierce fight with the monster.
"Let's go together and don't let it run away!" the rescue team leader shouted.
During the battle, one of the team members was unfortunately hit by a monster and fell heavily to the ground.
