Dangerous Journey
Everyone followed the stranger into the car. The sound of the car door closing was particularly dull in the silence. The car sped away, raising a cloud of dust. The dust formed a hazy yellow smoke in the sunlight, as if isolating them from the outside world.
The atmosphere inside the car was tense and oppressive, and no one spoke. The air seemed frozen, with only the roar of the car engine and the scrape of tires against the road. Lin Yu gripped the folder tightly, his fingers white from the strain, and his eyes kept glancing at the stranger. He was filled with doubt and wariness, wondering where this mysterious stranger was taking them.
"Where are you taking us?" Lin Yu broke the silence, his voice low and hoarse, revealing his inner uneasiness. His eyes were fixed on the back of the stranger's head, trying to find a clue from his reaction.
The stranger drove the car attentively, his hands tightly gripping the steering wheel, and said without turning his head: "A safe place, you'll know when you get there." His voice was cold and calm, without any emotional fluctuations.
Suna shifted restlessly, her hands gripping the edge of the seat so tightly that her knuckles turned white from the strain. "I just feel uneasy. Is this another trap?" Her voice trembled, her eyes filled with fear and worry. "We just escaped danger, and now we're following a stranger into an unknown place. It's too risky." Her heartbeat was so rapid that it threatened to burst out of her chest.
Old Chen patted Suna's shoulder, trying to comfort her. "Let's wait and see. There's no better solution right now." His voice was steady and resolute. Although he was filled with doubts, he knew they had no other choice in this situation. "Maybe this person can really help us," he prayed silently in his heart.
The car drove onto a remote mountain road, which was bumpy and full of rocks and potholes. The car kept shaking like a small boat sailing on a rough sea.
Suddenly, a fallen tree appeared in front of us, blocking our way. The tree's thick trunk lay across the middle of the road, and its lush branches and leaves looked like an insurmountable obstacle.
The stranger slammed on the brakes, causing the wheels to rub against the ground with a sharp, piercing sound. "Everyone, be careful!" he shouted, a hint of nervousness in his voice.
Everyone leaned forward, their hearts in their throats. Lin Yu's forehead nearly hit the seat in front of him. He steadied himself, a bad premonition welling up in his heart.
"Get out of the car, we need to move the tree." said the stranger. He opened the car door first and got out.
Everyone got out of the car and walked to the large tree. Lin Yu looked around and saw that the trees on both sides of the mountain road were tall and gloomy, their branches and leaves intertwined, casting a dense shadow. A breeze rustled the leaves, as if whispering some secret. "There's something strange about this place. Everyone, be careful," he whispered, his voice full of caution.
At this moment, a sinister laugh echoed through the valley, sending chills down one's spine. It seemed to come from all directions, making it impossible to pinpoint its source.
"Who? Who's there?" a team member shouted in horror, his voice shrill with fear.
Lin Yu's heartbeat instantly accelerated, and his eyes quickly scanned the surrounding woods. "Everyone, move closer and be alert!" he shouted, holding the weapon tightly to his chest.
Su Na was so scared that she hid behind Lao Chen, her body shaking. "What's that sound? It's so scary!" She cried, tears welling up in her eyes.
Old Chen's expression also became very solemn. He placed his hand on Suna's shoulder to offer some comfort. "Don't be afraid, girl, we are here for you," he said. Although he was also filled with fear, he knew that he had to remain calm at this moment.
The stranger stood there, motionless, as if listening to something.
"Do you know what's going on?" Lin Yu asked.
The stranger was silent for a moment, then slowly said, "I don't know, but we must get out of here as soon as possible."
At this moment, some dark shadows suddenly appeared in the woods and quickly approached the crowd.
"Get ready for battle!" Lin Yu shouted.
The team members raised their weapons and stared at the dark shadows nervously.
As the shadows approached, everyone realized they were a group of monsters with distorted faces and strange shapes. Their eyes flashed red and they let out low growls.
"Open fire!" Lin Yu gave the order.
Bullets whizzed out and shot at the monsters. After being shot, the monsters howled in pain, but they did not retreat. Instead, they rushed towards the crowd more frantically.
Lin Yu and his team members fought and retreated, engaging in a fierce battle with the monster.
"This is not a solution. We are running out of bullets!" shouted a team member.
Lin Yu's heart was filled with anxiety. He knew that if they couldn't get rid of these monsters as soon as possible, their lives would be in danger.
At that moment, the stranger suddenly pulled a strange device from his backpack and pressed a button. A bright light instantly blazed out, illuminating the entire valley. The monsters, caught in the glare, stopped their attacks, covered their eyes, and cried out in pain.
"Go!" the stranger shouted.
Everyone took the opportunity to flee the scene and returned to the car.
The car started again and sped forward.
"What is that?" Lin Yu asked, panting.
The stranger didn't answer, but just drove intently.
As the car sped along the mountain road, everyone's mood remained restless, wondering what dangers awaited them ahead...
