Chapter 73: Unknown Light

Unknown Light

Everyone desperately ran towards the faint glow, their footsteps chaotic and hurried in the darkness. Each step was filled with fear of the unknown and a desire to survive, as if it was their only hope in this endless darkness. Their breathing was rapid and heavy, and their heartbeats were like dense drumbeats, especially clear in the silent space.

As they approached, they realized the light seemed to be coming from a narrow crack in the door. The light was faint and flickering, like a candle in the darkness that could go out at any moment. Lin Yu approached the door cautiously, his steps as light as a cat's, afraid to disturb the unknown beyond. He leaned forward slightly and pressed his ear against the door, trying to catch even the slightest sound.

"How is it? Did you hear anything?" Old Chen asked nervously. His voice was very low, as if a louder voice would trigger something terrible. Old Chen's eyes were fixed on Lin Yu, and his hands unconsciously clenched the weapons in his hands, his knuckles turning white from the force.

Lin Yu shook his head. "I can't hear anything." There was a hint of doubt and uneasiness in his voice. His brows furrowed, his eyes narrowed into slits, and he tried to think about what might be behind this door. "It's too quiet, so quiet that it's a little abnormal," he said to himself.

Suna hesitated, "Should we really open this door? There might be something even scarier behind it." Her voice trembled, her eyes filled with fear and worry. Her hands clutched the corners of her clothes tightly, her body trembling slightly, as if she had already foreseen the terrifying scene behind the door. "Perhaps we should think of another way. This is too risky." Her heartbeat accelerated, and all kinds of terrifying images kept surfacing in her mind.

"But this might be our only way out," one team member said. There was a hint of despair and helplessness in his voice. "We have no other choice. If we don't open this door, we might be trapped here forever." His eyes were firm and resolute. Although he was filled with fear, he knew they couldn't just sit there and wait for death.

Lin Yu took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. "Get ready, I'm going to open the door." His voice was low and powerful, as if to encourage himself and his teammates. His hand slowly reached for the door handle. The moment his fingers touched the handle, he felt a chill from his fingertips. "No matter what's behind the door, we have to face it," he said silently to himself.

He slowly pushed the door open, the hinges creaking, a sound that was particularly piercing in the silence. It was like a call from hell, causing everyone's heart to suddenly tighten. As the door slowly opened, a stale and unfamiliar smell filled the air, carrying a hint of mystery and danger.

Behind the door lay a vast room. A faint mist filled the room, blurring everything. Strange devices and instruments lay scattered throughout the corners, some flashing eerie lights, while others lay silent, as if slumbering, awaiting awakening. In the center of the room sat a large glass container, something seemingly wriggling within.

Lin Yu walked into the room cautiously, his footsteps echoing in the empty room. "Everyone be careful," he whispered, his eyes scanning the surroundings vigilantly.

Lao Chen followed behind him, holding his weapon tightly to his chest. "What is this place? It looks like a laboratory." His voice was full of confusion and caution.

Suna hesitated, her eyes drawn to the giant glass container. "What's in there?" her voice trembled, her heart filled with fear and curiosity.

The crowd slowly approached the glass container, and as the distance shortened, they finally saw what was inside. It was a huge, irregularly shaped object, covered in a layer of mucus, and it kept wriggling, as if it had life.

"What...what kind of monster is this?" a team member shouted in horror, and he involuntarily took a few steps back.

Lin Yu's face became solemn, "I don't know, but it doesn't look like a good thing." His eyes were fixed on the object, his heart full of doubts and uneasiness.

At this moment, the object suddenly accelerated and began to move, and the glass container made a "cracking" sound, as if it was about to be unable to withstand its force.

"Oh no, it's coming out!" Old Chen shouted.

Everyone's heartbeats instantly reached their throats, and fear enveloped them like an invisible net...
