Chapter 8 The Truth About Wawu Mountain Becomes Clear

The Truth of Wawu Mountain Gradually Emerges

Lin Yu, Suna, and Lao Chen were suddenly sucked into the temple by the mysterious force, their bodies falling heavily to the cold stone floor. They struggled to their feet, only to find the temple filled with an air of age and decay, as if time had stood still. The temple hall seemed remarkably empty, with a massive, mysterious statue standing in its center. Its features, blurred by the erosion of time, yet the subtle majesty and oppression it emanated filled them with awe and fear.

"What on earth is this place?" Suna's voice trembled, echoing in the empty temple, full of tension and confusion. Her eyes were wide open, filled with fear of the unknown.

Lin Yu's heartbeat raced. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, and carefully observed his surroundings. The dim candlelight flickered on the temple walls, its shadows flickering, making strange patterns and texts appear and disappear. "Anyway, let's see if there's any clues to escape," Lin Yu said, feigning composure, though his heart was filled with anxiety.

They began a thorough search of the temple, taking every step with extreme caution, fearing any unforeseen danger. Old Chen leaned close to the wall, squinting his eyes as he studied the incisions. His fingers gently touched the rough stone, as if he could sense the traces of time and the secrets hidden within.

Suddenly, Lao Chen's eyes lit up, and his voice was filled with excitement and nervousness: "I seem to have noticed something. These patterns and words seem to be telling an ancient legend about Wawu Mountain."

Suna hurried over and asked, "What legend is it? Tell us about it."

Old Chen swallowed and began to narrate, "Legend has it that Wawu Mountain was once a battlefield between immortals and demons. That battle was so terrifying that it shook the heavens and earth, and ultimately, the immortals sealed the demons there at a great cost. But as time passed, the seal's power gradually weakened, and a dark aura began to seep out, leading to the appearance of the Yellow Springs Road and various strange phenomena."

"So, all the dangers we encountered and the missing people are related to this seal?" Suna's voice was full of worry. The faces of the missing people appeared in her mind, and a strong sense of mission surged in her heart.

At that moment, a low humming sound came from the temple, as if thousands of bees were fluttering their wings simultaneously. The ground began to tremble, and small pieces of stone fell from the ceiling.

"Oh no, there may be new danger!" Lin Yu shouted loudly, his eyes became sharp in an instant, and he held the weapon tightly in his hand.

The three of them quickly stood back to back, forming a tight defensive circle, watching their surroundings vigilantly. Suddenly, a group of black shadows emerged from behind the statue, silently and ghostly rushing towards them.

Lin Yu gritted his teeth, waved the weapon in his hand, and shouted loudly: "Don't be afraid, we will definitely defeat them!"

Suna's heart was beating rapidly, and she thought to herself, "I can't retreat, I must hold on!" She cast her magic, and rays of light shot out from her hands, trying to repel the dark shadows.

While resisting the attacks of the black shadows, Lao Chen observed their movements and shouted, "Everyone be careful, their attacks have a pattern!"

Lin Yu and the others fought hard, but these shadows seemed endless, coming in wave after wave. Lin Yu felt his strength rapidly depleting, and his arms became extremely sore from the constant attacks.

"This is not a solution. We have to find their weaknesses!" Lin Yu said loudly.

Just when they felt powerless, Lin Yu's eyes accidentally swept across a strange decoration in the corner of the temple. He was moved and realized that it might be a mechanism.

"Suna, Lao Chen, cover me!" Lin Yu shouted loudly, and then rushed towards the mechanism desperately.

Suna and Lao Chen tried their best and launched their strongest attacks to buy time for Lin Yu.

Under the cover of the two, Lin Yu finally rushed to the mechanism. His hands trembled as he pressed the button of the mechanism.

A dazzling light flashed, its powerful force instantly annihilating the shadows. Silence returned to the temple, leaving only the heavy breathing of the three of them.

"It seems we have found the right direction." Lin Yu said panting, with a tired smile on his face.

They rested briefly and continued exploring the temple. In a hidden chamber, they found a yellowed scroll. The paper was so fragile that it seemed as if it would crumble to ash at the slightest touch.

Old Chen carefully picked up the scroll and flipped it open, his eyes fixed on the words. "If we can reseal the demon, perhaps we can solve the problem of the Yellow Springs Road." Old Chen's voice held a glimmer of hope.

However, just as they were about to leave the temple to search for the sealed place, the temple gate suddenly slammed shut with a dull thud. A mysterious and eerie voice rang in their ears: "Do you think you can leave so easily?"

Lin Yu's face darkened, and he shouted, "No matter who you are, don't try to stop us! We will definitely complete our mission and save this land!"

The mysterious voice sneered: "Then give it a try."

Then, a series of strange changes began to occur in the temple: sharp spikes suddenly emerged from the ground, poisonous arrows shot out from the walls, and huge rocks kept falling from the ceiling.

Lin Yu and others dodged left and right in the narrow space, facing danger all around.
