The Final Battle at Wawu Mountain
The moment Lin Yu, Suna, and Lao Chen stepped out of the temple, a thick, almost tangible fog blew towards them like a ghost. This fog was not ordinary; it seemed alive, cold and damp, instantly enveloping their bodies. Every breath carried the damp, decaying smell of something, as if it were rising from the depths of the underworld.
"The fog is too thick. We must proceed with caution." Lin Yu's voice sounded dull and subdued in the hazy space. His heartbeat was like a drum, and nervousness was spreading deep within him. The fog before them was like an invisible barrier, completely isolating them from the outside world. The fear of the unknown followed them everywhere.
"But time is running out. We can't delay much longer." Suna's voice was tinged with anxiety and unease. She gazed at the endless fog, her mind racing through the tragic fates facing those missing, and her anxiety grew stronger. She longed to break through the fog immediately, find the sealed place, and end this nightmare.
They groped their way cautiously through the fog. The ground beneath their feet felt like a swamp, and they felt a strange suction with every step. The surrounding trees were tall and twisted, their branches crisscrossing like a pair of ferocious claws, ready to drag them into the dark abyss.
Suddenly, a sharp, piercing cry pierced the dense fog like a sharp sword. A gigantic, strange bird soared overhead, its wings flapping like a violent storm. Its massive body loomed in the mist, its blood-red eyes like blazing fireballs, flashing a ferocious light.
"What kind of monster is this?" Old Chen cried out in fear, his voice filled with despair and helplessness. His legs gave way and he nearly collapsed to the ground, his hands trembling as he clutched the tree trunk beside him.
The strange bird circled in the air before swooping down again. Its claws, like sharp scimitars, sliced through the air with a chilling whistling sound. Lin Yu and the others quickly dodged to the side. The bird's claws tore deep grooves in the ground, sending dirt and gravel flying everywhere.
"We can't let it keep attacking us. We have to find a way to drive it away!" Lin Yu shouted loudly, his eyes full of determination and courage. Although he was also filled with fear, he knew that retreating at this moment would mean death.
Suna tried to calm her fear, taking a deep breath and concentrating. She closed her eyes, her hands began to emit a faint light, and she muttered, "Power of light, drive out evil!" Her voice trembled, but it contained an unyielding strength.
A brilliant beam of light shot out from her hand, hurtling straight towards the strange bird. Startled, the bird screamed and flapped its wings, temporarily disappearing into the thick fog. But they all knew it wasn't far away, merely waiting for the right moment to strike again.
"Hurry up and don't give it a chance to attack again!" Lin Yu urged, his voice anxious and nervous.
They continued their arduous journey through the misty forest, each step fraught with unknown danger. The path grew increasingly rugged, sharp rocks and crisscrossing tree roots often tripping them up. Strange noises emanated from the surrounding mist: deep roars, like the howling of demons from hell; eerie sneers, as if ghosts in the darkness mocked their presumption; and faint cries, so mournful and pathetic they chilled their very bones.
"This place is hell on earth," Old Chen muttered to himself, his voice trembling with fear of the unknown. His clothes were torn by branches, and his face was covered in sweat and dirt, making him look miserable.
"Don't talk nonsense, keep your confidence!" Lin Yu scolded. Although his heart was also filled with fear and anxiety, he knew that fear could not occupy everyone's hearts at this moment.
Finally, after a seemingly endless and arduous journey, they came upon a vast cave. Its entrance yawned like a dark maw, emitting a chilling aura. Ancient and mysterious runes were carved into the surrounding rock. These runes shimmered faintly, as if proclaiming an ancient curse.
"This should be the place where the demons are sealed." Lao Chen's voice trembled. He looked at the dark cave entrance, his heart filled with awe and fear.
Just as they were about to step into the cave, the familiar mysterious voice sounded in their ears again: "Since you are here, don't even think about leaving alive!" The voice echoed in the cave, carrying endless resentment and curses, as if it came from the abyss of the underworld.
Then, a figure slowly emerged from the darkness. He was clad in a black robe, his face hidden in the shadows, his eyes gleaming red and standing out only in the distance. In his hand, he held a black wand, tipped with an evil gemstone. The gemstone shone with an eerie light, like the eye of a demon.
"You've been stopping us?" Lin Yu glared at him, his eyes burning with rage. His hands were tightly gripping the weapon, his joints turning white from the force.
"Hmph, the power under this seal should have belonged to me. Don't even think about resealing it!" The dark wizard sneered. His voice seemed to come from an ice cellar, making people shudder.
A thrilling battle broke out instantly. The dark wizard waved his wand, muttering something, and a black flame shot out from the wand like a mad dragon, sweeping towards Lin Yu and others.
Lin Yu dodged sideways nimbly and shouted loudly, "Suna, be careful!" His heartbeat accelerated rapidly and every nerve was tense to the extreme.
Suna quickly cast a spell, forming a transparent shield in front of her. Black flames struck the shield, crackling and ripples forming under the impact of the flames.
