Solving the Mystery
After some effort, Lin Yu's eyes were almost dizzy. Just when he was about to give up, suddenly, those seemingly chaotic patterns seemed to come alive in his eyes and began to have patterns.
"I think I understand. The direction and arrangement of these lines seem to indicate a certain direction," Lin Yu said excitedly, his voice trembling with excitement. His eyes were fixed on the pattern on the cave wall, as if it were the most precious treasure in the world. "I've always wondered why these lines bend and intersect like this, and now I finally see that they seem to form the shape of an arrow." His heartbeat accelerated rapidly, and the excitement of solving the mystery made him temporarily forget the pain in his body.
Suna leaned in for a closer look, her eyes filled with anticipation and nervousness. "Could it be pointing towards the exit?" She spoke softly, as if afraid a louder voice would shatter this possible hope. "If that's the case, then we're saved." A spark of hope ignited in her heart, and her hands unconsciously clenched.
Everyone decided to follow the instructions on the pattern. In the darkness, the flashlights seemed so dim, as if they would be swallowed by the darkness at any moment. Everyone's footsteps echoed in the silent cave, becoming particularly clear.
Groping forward in the darkness, everyone's heartbeat was as rapid as a drum. The air was filled with the smell of dampness and decay, making it difficult to breathe. From time to time, water dripped from the cave wall, dripping onto their shoulders, bringing a chill to the touch.
Suddenly, a narrow passage appeared in front of them, only wide enough for one person to pass through. The passage looked eerie and terrifying, as if it led to an unknown abyss.
"Could this be a trap?" a team member asked worriedly, his voice trembling with fear. "If there's any danger in there, we're finished." He stopped in his tracks, not daring to take another step forward.
Lin Yu pondered for a moment, his gaze shifting between the tunnel entrance and his teammates. "No matter what, we have to give it a try. I'll go over and take a look." His voice was firm and steady, bringing a sense of reassurance to everyone. "If there's no danger, I'll call you over." He took a deep breath, adjusted his weapon, and prepared to enter the tunnel.
"Captain, be careful!" Suna couldn't help but say, her eyes full of concern.
Lin Yu nodded. "Don't worry." He walked slowly into the passage, his body pressed tightly against the wall. The passage was filled with a pungent smell that made him feel nauseous. He took each step carefully. The ground under his feet was slippery and uneven, so he had to be extra careful.
Everyone waited anxiously outside, and time seemed to stretch endlessly. Every second felt like a year, and everyone's heart was filled with anxiety and anticipation.
"Why is there no movement yet?" a team member couldn't help but whisper.
"Don't talk, just wait patiently." Another team member scolded in a low voice.
Suna clenched her hands tightly together, her nails digging deep into her palms, but she was completely unaware. "Lin Yu, you must be okay." She prayed silently in her heart.
At this moment, Lin Yu's voice came from the passage. "You can come over now, be careful!"
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and cautiously walked into the passage. The passage was filled with thick fog, making it difficult to see the road ahead.
"Everyone be careful and follow me closely." Lin Yu's voice sounded in front.
Suna followed closely behind, her heartbeat echoing in her ears. "Lin Yu, I'm scared." She whispered.
"Don't be afraid, we'll be out soon." Lin Yu comforted.
Suddenly, a cool breeze blew from the front, bringing a chill.
"What kind of wind is this?" someone asked in horror.
Lin Yu stopped and said, "I don't know, but everyone be careful."
Just then, they heard a strange sound, like someone whispering, or like the breathing of some monster.
"What on earth is this?" a team member's voice was filled with fear.
Lin Yu frowned, "No matter what it is, we can't retreat."
They continued to move forward, each step filled with fear and uncertainty...
