Chapter 97: The End of the Tunnel

The End of the Tunnel

Everyone struggled forward through the passage, the dim flashlights flickering in the darkness, as if they would be swallowed up by the endless blackness at any moment. The sound of each person's footsteps echoed in the narrow passage, hollow and dull, adding a touch of eerie and terrifying atmosphere.

Suddenly, a giant spider descended from the cave ceiling, its massive body filling almost the entire passage. Its body was covered in hairy bristles, each one as sharp as a steel needle. Its eyes flashed an eerie red light, and a stream of white slime gushed from its mouth.

"Ah!" The team members screamed in terror, their voices echoing in the corridor, filled with despair and fear. They retreated one after another, their weapons trembling, and some even collapsed to the ground in fear.

Lin Yu raised his weapon, his heartbeat accelerating, but he tried to remain calm. "Don't be afraid, we can handle it!" he shouted, his voice trembling slightly, but more determined. "Everyone, stay focused!" He stared intently at the spider, bracing himself for the impending attack.

The spider swung its sharp claws and attacked them, its movements swift and agile, its claws slicing through the air with a sharp whistling sound.

One team member tried to hit the spider with a stick, but the spider easily dodged the attack and knocked him to the ground with its claws. "Help!" the team member cried out in pain.

"Hold on!" Lin Yu rushed forward and blocked the spider's attack again with his weapon.

"Everyone come together!" Lin Yu shouted.

The team members mustered their courage and attacked the spider, some slashing at its legs with knives, others throwing rocks at its body.

The spider was enraged and it sprayed more slime, which splashed on the face of one of the team members. He covered his face in pain and fell to the ground.

"Be careful!" Lin Yu warned loudly.

Suna was standing by, her heart pounding like a drum, and she was almost paralyzed by fear. But seeing her teammates getting hurt one by one, she gritted her teeth, picked up a stone, and threw it at the spider.

"Go to hell!" she shouted.

After a fierce fight, the spider's body was covered with wounds and its movements began to become slow.

Lin Yu seized the opportunity, swung the weapon in his hand hard, and hit the spider's head.

The spider let out a shrill scream and fell to the ground, motionless.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and collapsed on the ground, gasping for breath.

"Finally defeated it." said a team member weakly.

Lin Yu wiped the sweat and blood from his face and asked, "Is everyone okay?" His voice was full of concern.

"Thank goodness you're here, Captain." Suna said, her eyes full of admiration and gratitude.

Everyone rested for a while and continued on their way.

Finally, they reached the end of the passage, only to find a bottomless cliff. Thick fog hung over the cliff, making it impossible to see what was below.

"What...what should we do?" someone said desperately, his voice trembling. "We finally made it here, are we going to be trapped?"

Lin Yu stared at the cliff, frowning, lost in thought. His heart was filled with anxiety and helplessness. "Is this our end? No, there must be another way." He thought secretly in his heart.

Suna walked over to him, her face etched with worry. "Lin Yu, is there really no way out for us?" Her voice tinged with despair. "We've been through so much, are we going to die here?" Tears welled in her eyes, and her body trembled uncontrollably.

Lin Yu took a deep breath and said with a firm gaze, "No, there must be a way." His voice was soft but full of power. "We can't just give up. We must find a way out." His eyes searched the cliff edge, hoping to find a clue.

Just then, Lin Yu discovered some protruding rocks on the edge of the cliff, which seemed to be able to be used as support points for climbing.

"Look, we can climb down these rocks," Lin Yu said, a hint of excitement in his voice. "It's dangerous, but it's our only option."

"This is too dangerous! What if we lose our grip..." one team member hesitated, his voice filled with fear. "We might fall and get smashed to pieces."

"But this is our only chance," Lin Yu said, his tone unwavering. "If we stay here, we'll die. We are brave warriors and cannot be intimidated by difficulties." He looked at everyone with a firm gaze, hoping to give them courage and confidence.

Finally, everyone decided to take the plunge. Lin Yu took the lead, cautiously beginning his descent. His hands gripped the rocks tightly, his feet tentatively searching for a foothold. Every step was fraught with danger; a single misstep could lead to a plunge into the abyss.

Suna followed closely behind, her heartbeat accelerating, her hands sweating from nervousness. "Lin Yu, be careful," her voice trembled.

During the climbing process, gravel kept falling, making a terrifying sound.

"Everyone be careful!" Lin Yu warned loudly.

One team member almost fell down because he stepped on empty air, but fortunately he was pulled up in time by the person next to him.

"Hold on!" Lin Yu shouted.

Finally, everyone successfully reached the bottom of the cliff.

A secret passage appeared before my eyes, filled with a mysterious atmosphere.

"Let's walk along the passage, maybe this is the way out." Lin Yu said.

Everyone walked along the passage, feeling both nervous and excited.

Suddenly, a ray of light came from the front.

"It's the exit!" someone shouted excitedly.

They quickened their pace and walked out of the cave.

The sunlight shone on them, and at that moment, everyone cried with joy.

"We did it!" Lin Yu shouted loudly, his voice full of joy and pride.

This thrilling adventure became an unforgettable experience for them.
