Episode 127: The Mysterious Temple

Mysterious Temple

Lin Yu and Suna slowly approached the ancient temple. Its exterior was old and dilapidated, its walls covered in moss and vines, as if the traces of time had solidified there. The temple's main door was tightly closed. Made of heavy wood, its texture blurred by age, the door was filled with a mysterious and eerie atmosphere, as if invisible eyes were watching them from the shadows.

"Lin Yu, I'm a little afraid to go in." Suna's voice trembled, her steps became hesitant, and her eyes were filled with fear and anxiety. She tightly grasped the corner of Lin Yu's clothes, as if it was her only support in this terrifying world.

Lin Yu took a deep breath. Even though his heart was beating rapidly, he tried to sound calm. "Don't be afraid, Suna. Perhaps the holy relic we're looking for is hidden in here." He stared at the closed door, feeling a sense of unease. He knew that every exploration could bring unknown dangers, but to lift the curse, they had no choice.

They approached the gate cautiously. The stone pavement beneath their feet was covered with cracks and moss. They had to be extremely careful with every step, fearing they would slip. When they finally reached the door, Lin Yu stretched out his trembling hand and gently placed it on the door.

They pushed the door open cautiously, and the door hinges creaked sharply, a sound that was particularly jarring in the silence. The sound seemed like an ancient call, or a warning, that made their hearts tremble.

Entering the temple, it was dark and damp, filled with a stale smell. A mixture of rotting wood, damp earth, and the scent of long-lost incense, it made one feel nauseous and dizzy. A faint light filtered through the doorway, illuminating only a small area, while the rest of the place was shrouded in darkness.

In the center stood a gigantic statue, towering high above the ground, creating a powerful sense of oppression. Its features were blurred, obscured by time and dust, yet its vague outline seemed to carry a mysterious majesty.

"This statue is so strange." Suna couldn't help but say, her voice echoing in the empty temple with a hint of trembling and awe.

At this moment, a strange sound suddenly came from the temple. The sound was like the sound of an object moving, or like low breathing, and it was particularly clear in this silent space.

"Who?" Lin Yu shouted loudly, his voice echoing in the temple, but no one responded. Fear quickly spread in his heart. He gripped the dagger tightly in his hand, his eyes vigilantly scanning the darkness around him.

Su Na's body involuntarily moved closer to Lin Yu, her breathing becoming rapid and disordered. "Lin Yu, I'm scared." Her voice was filled with tears, and her hands tightly grasped Lin Yu's arms.

Lin Yu pretended to be calm and comforted her, "Don't be afraid, Suna, maybe it's just the wind or a mouse." But he knew that this explanation could not even convince himself.

Suddenly, a chilling wind blew through the temple, extinguishing the torches in their hands and plunging the temple into darkness.

"Ah!" Suna screamed, her voice echoing in the darkness, full of fear and despair.

Lin Yu's heartbeat accelerated instantly, and he could feel Suna's body trembling. "Suna, don't be afraid, I'm here." He stretched out his hand, trying to find Suna's hand in the darkness.

In the darkness, they could only hear each other's rapid breathing and heartbeats. Every tiny sound was infinitely amplified, making their nerves tense to the extreme.

"Lin Yu, what should we do?" Su Na's voice was filled with deep fear and helplessness.

Lin Yu tried to calm himself down, his mind racing. "Let's find a place to hide first, and wait until our eyes adjust to the darkness before we see what's going on."

They groped their way to the side, and their feet bumped into something, making a dull sound. Lin Yu's heartbeat became more and more intense, and he didn't know what would happen next second.

Just then, they heard a heavy sound of footsteps, which were slow and powerful, and every step seemed to be stepping on their hearts.

"What on earth is this?" Lin Yu's voice was filled with fear and confusion.

The footsteps were getting closer and closer, and their breathing almost stopped...
