New Clues
After Lin Yu and Su Na escaped from the attic, they were like two frightened rabbits, not daring to stay there any longer. They stumbled all the way and hurriedly left the Tang Family Castle, which was full of mystery and horror.
They walked along the winding mountain road, the gravel underfoot making their soles hurt. The trees on both sides were like silent guards, casting a gloomy shadow. The sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, creating patches of mottled light and shadow, but it could not bring them any warmth.
Finally, they arrived at a seemingly peaceful town. Its streets were narrow and old, with houses arranged in an orderly pattern on both sides, and plumes of smoke rising from the chimneys. However, this seemingly ordinary scene was filled with uncertainty and unease in their eyes.
They found a slightly run-down inn to rest their heads in. The inn's sign creaked in the wind. Entering the inn, the scent of old wood and damp earth hit them.
"Lin Yu, what should we do next?" Suna asked wearily. Her eyes were dull, and her once rosy cheeks had turned pale and haggard. She sat on a worn wooden chair, leaning forward slightly, her hands resting limply on her knees.
Lin Yu paced back and forth in the room, his brow furrowed, lost in thought. After a long moment, he slowly said, "I don't think this encounter at Tangjiabao was accidental. Those strange symbols and the mysterious black stone may be the key to solving the mystery." His voice was low and hoarse, revealing deep confusion and uneasiness.
Just then, a mysterious stranger entered the inn. He was clad in a black cloak, completely covering himself from head to toe, making it impossible to discern his features. His footsteps were so light, almost inaudible, that he seemed like a ghost. He sat down at the table next to Lin Yu and Suna, and the air around them seemed to freeze.
The stranger whispered, "What you saw in Tangjiabao is just the tip of the iceberg." His voice was low and hoarse, as if coming from the depths of hell, with a creepy chill.
Lin Yu and Suna looked at him warily, their bodies tensing up involuntarily.
"Who are you? How do you know about us in Tangjiabao?" Lin Yu asked, his hand unconsciously touching the sword at his waist, his eyes full of vigilance.
The stranger smiled, a laugh that seemed particularly abrupt and strange in the quiet inn. "Don't be nervous, young man. I'm here to help you," he said in a low voice, as if deliberately suppressed, with a mysterious air.
Lin Yu frowned and looked at the stranger suspiciously: "Help us? Why? Why should we trust you?"
The stranger sighed softly, "There's a huge secret hidden behind Tangjiabao, which is related to a mysterious incident many years ago. This secret concerns the lives of countless people, and you have accidentally been involved in it."
Lin Yu and Suna looked at each other, their hearts filled with confusion and fear.
The stranger continued, "I can give you some clues, but you must promise me to be careful. The power behind this secret is extremely powerful. If you are not careful, you will be doomed." His voice became heavier, as if warning them of the great danger they were about to face.
Lin Yu hesitated for a moment, then nodded firmly: "As long as we can solve the mystery, we are willing to do anything."
The stranger pulled out a tattered map from his pocket. The paper was yellowed, the edges frayed, and there were some strange markings and lines on it. He handed it to Lin Yu and said, "You may find the answers you seek in the places marked here. But remember, this journey is full of dangers, so you must be careful."
After saying this, the stranger stood up and left the inn. His figure disappeared in the sunlight outside the door, as if he had never appeared.
Lin Yu and Suna looked at the map in their hands, their hearts filled with anxiety and anticipation. They knew that what awaited them ahead would be an even more thrilling adventure...
