Deathly Struggle
The monster lunged at Lin Yu and the others, its fangs bared and claws bared. Its massive body was like a moving mountain, and every step made the ground tremble slightly. Its bloody mouth opened wide, spewing a foul stench. Its fangs gleamed a chilling cold light in the firelight. Lin Yu waved a torch, trying to stop the monster's attack. The torch's light seemed so dim in the monster's shadow, as if it would be swallowed by the darkness at any moment.
Suna was panicking, her eyes wide open, filled with extreme fear. Her mind was blank, she didn't know what to do, and her feet seemed to be nailed to the ground, unable to move.
"Suna, find a place to hide!" Lin Yu shouted. His voice was a little hoarse from nervousness and fear, but still full of determination and protection. He stared at the monster, waving the torch in his hand constantly, trying to distract the monster and buy time for Suna.
The old man was agile, dodging the monster's attack with a sideways movement. His movements were swift and decisive, like a battle-hardened warrior. As he sidestepped, he thrust his dagger at the monster, using all his strength. However, the monster's skin was as hard as iron, and the dagger slipped away the moment it touched it, leaving only a shallow white mark.
"What kind of monster is this? Why is it so formidable?" the old man gasped. Beads of sweat covered his forehead, and his eyes revealed a hint of despair and helplessness. But he didn't give up. Instead, he quickly adjusted his posture, preparing for the monster's next attack.
Lin Yu was terribly anxious, his heartbeat rapidly accelerating, almost leaping out of his throat. Every attack from the monster made him feel death was approaching, but he had only one thought in mind: to protect Suna and the old man, and to find a way to defeat the monster. While fending off the monster, he thought of a countermeasure.
At this moment, the monster swung its claws violently, and the speed was so fast that Lin Yu could not dodge. The sharp claws scratched his arm, and blood splattered in an instant.
"Lin Yu!" Suna was distraught when she saw Lin Yu injured. Her voice was filled with pain and worry, and tears welled up in her eyes. She wanted to rush over to help Lin Yu, but fear prevented her from taking a single step.
Lin Yu gritted his teeth, enduring the pain. "I'm fine, leave me alone!" he shouted. His eyes became more determined. His injured arm slowed his movements, but his fighting spirit remained undiminished.
Just as they were in dire straits, Lin Yu suddenly realized that the monster's eyes seemed to be its weakness. Those eyes flickered with an eerie light in the darkness, as if hiding endless evil. A glimmer of hope ignited in Lin Yu's heart, he knew this might be their only chance.
"Old man, attack its eyes!" Lin Yu shouted.
The old man heard Lin Yu's cry and understood. He rushed towards the monster again, attracting the monster's attention and creating an opportunity for Lin Yu.
Lin Yu took a deep breath, endured the severe pain in his arm, held the torch tightly, and waited for the opportunity. The moment the monster's attention was attracted by the old man, he rushed forward, raised the torch high, and stabbed it into the monster's eyes.
The monster noticed Lin Yu's movements and tried to dodge, but it was too late. The torch pierced its eyes fiercely, and the monster roared in pain. Its body trembled violently, and it waved its claws frantically, trying to attack Lin Yu.
Lin Yu quickly retreated to avoid the monster's counterattack. The old man took the opportunity to attack again, stabbing the monster's other eye with a dagger.
The monster, in a frenzy and agony, rampaged through the cave, knocking down the surrounding stones and walls.
"Hurry, hide behind the rock!" Lin Yu pulled Su Na and hid behind a huge rock.
The monster's roar echoed in the cave, making their ears ring. Dust and rocks fell one after another, and the entire cave seemed to be collapsing.
Lin Yu hugged Suna tightly, protecting her with his body. "Don't be afraid, Suna, it will be over soon." He said softly.
The old man stood aside, still staring at the monster vigilantly, ready to respond to its attack at any time.
After a while, the monster's movements gradually slowed down, and its strength seemed to gradually disappear. Finally, it fell to the ground, motionless.
Lin Yu and Suna walked out from behind the stone, their bodies trembling with tension and fatigue.
"It's finally over..." Lin Yu breathed a sigh of relief and collapsed on the ground.
Su Na walked to his side, looked at his injured arm, and tears welled up again. "Lin Yu, you did this for us..."
Lin Yu looked at her with a smile, "As long as you are okay, everything is worth it."
The old man also came over, a relieved smile on his face. "Let's keep going. Maybe the exit is just ahead."
They rested for a while, then continued walking deeper into the cave, their hearts filled with anticipation and fear of the unknown...
