Episode 186: Ancient Secrets

Ancient Secrets

The old man's face turned pale upon seeing the pattern, and his lips trembled as if controlled by an invisible force. "This... this is an evil curse, said to be connected to the terrifying Tai Sui." The old man's voice was trembling and hoarse, as if it came from the distant past, filled with deep fear and awe.

Lin Yu asked hurriedly: "Old man, can you tell us the origin of this spell and how to break it?" His eyes were full of eagerness and expectation, staring at the old man closely, as if the old man's answer was their only life-saving straw.

The old man sighed deeply, a sigh that seemed to carry endless pain and heavy memories. His eyes grew hazy, as if he had traveled through time and space, back to a distant and terrifying era of legend. "This is a legend from long, long ago. According to legend, Tai Sui is an evil spirit that slumbers in the depths of darkness. If disturbed by mortals, it will unleash endless evil power, bringing disaster and death. This talisman is the symbol of Tai Sui's unleashing of evil power." The old man's voice echoed in the silence, like a whisper from hell.

Suna nervously grasped Lin Yu's arm, her fingers turning white from the strain. "What should we do? Is there no way to stop this?" Her voice was tearful, her eyes filled with despair and fear. The horrific deaths of that family kept replaying in her mind, and she was filled with fear of an unknown fate.

The old man was silent for a moment, his eyes sweeping over the faces of Lin Yu, Suna, and the old man, as if weighing something. He slowly said, "There is a way, but it's extremely dangerous. There's an ancient temple on the hill behind the village. That temple was once very popular, and people went there to pray for the gods' protection. But as time passed, the temple was gradually forgotten, and no one has set foot there for many years. It is said that there is a god enshrined there who can restrain Tai Sui. But the temple is now dilapidated and full of unknown dangers. Perhaps, there is a power hidden there that can save you, but it may also be a road of no return." The old man's voice was particularly clear in the silence, and every word was like a heavy stone, pressing on their hearts.

Lin Yu, Suna, and the old man exchanged a look of determination. They knew that no matter how dangerous the road ahead was, they had no way out.

"No matter how dangerous it is, we have to give it a try." Lin Yu said, his voice firm and powerful, as if swearing their determination. Although his heart was also filled with fear, his belief in protecting Suna and finding the truth made him fearless.

They said goodbye to the old man and headed for the mountains behind them. Along the way, the forest was filled with thick fog, a thick white curtain that enveloped the entire world. Their footsteps were particularly clear in the silent forest, and each step seemed to be stepping on the fear of the unknown.

The eerie atmosphere grew thicker, and the surrounding trees seemed to have transformed into savage monsters, ready to pounce on them at any moment. Suna followed Lin Yu closely, her heartbeat rapidly accelerating, as if it was about to jump out of her throat. "I always feel like something is following us," Suna said in a trembling voice, her eyes constantly scanning the surroundings, trying to catch the danger hidden in the thick fog.

"Don't be afraid, maybe we're just too nervous," Lin Yu consoled him, but he was also filled with unease. He could sense the strange atmosphere around him; every swaying leaf and every gust of breeze seemed to conceal some unknown secret.

Suddenly, a chilling wind blew, rustling the leaves like countless ghosts whispering. The sound of the wind was like the cry of death, terrifying. Su Na screamed in fear, and Lin Yu quickly hugged her tightly in his arms.

"It's okay, Suna, don't be afraid." Lin Yu comforted her softly, but his eyes were looking around vigilantly.

The old man stopped and listened attentively to the sound of the wind. "There's something wrong with this wind. It seems to carry some kind of curse." His voice was low and serious, and he held the dagger tightly in his hand.

Lin Yu took a deep breath and took Suna's hand. "Let's hurry up and find the temple as soon as possible." They struggled forward in the thick fog, each step filled with fear and uncertainty.

The branches scratched their faces, causing them pain, but they didn't care. Suddenly, a black crow flew over their heads, uttering a shrill cry.

Suna's body trembled even more violently. "Is this a bad omen?"

Lin Yu pretended to be calm and said, "Don't let your imagination run wild. It's just a crow."

However, they all knew in their hearts that all the signs along the way indicated that a huge test was waiting for them ahead.

The fog was getting thicker and thicker, and they could hardly see the road ahead. Just then, they heard a low roar, like a giant beast from the abyss.

"What's that sound?" Suna's voice was full of despair.

Lin Yu's expression became very solemn. "I don't know, but we must keep moving forward."

They walked cautiously in the direction of the sound, each step filled with fear and hesitation. Finally, they saw a huge figure looming in the thick fog.

"What is that?" The old man's voice began to tremble.

As they approached, the figure gradually became clearer. It was a massive monster, its body the size of a hill, covered in sharp spikes. Its eyes flashed red, and a puff of black smoke emanated from its mouth.

"It's Tai Sui's guardian!" Lin Yu exclaimed.

The three of them were instantly plunged into extreme fear, but they knew that there was no way out...
