Episode 192: The Dawn of Hope

The Dawn of Hope

Just as they fell into despair, the entire temple seemed shrouded in a heavy haze, and everyone's face was filled with helplessness and fear. Lin Yu stood there blankly, his eyes empty, his thoughts a tangled mess. Suddenly, a flash of inspiration flashed through his mind, as if he had caught a faint glimmer of hope in the darkness.

"I've heard there's an ancient ritual that can purify the soul and blood. Perhaps we could give it a try," Lin Yu said, his voice tinged with uncertainty, but also with eagerness and anticipation. A flicker of hope reignited in his eyes, faint but gleaming brightly in the endless darkness.

When everyone heard this, hope instantly rekindled in their gloomy eyes. A hint of surprise appeared on Su Na's face. She grabbed Lin Yu's arm and said in a trembling voice, "Really? Lin Yu, if this works, then we're saved!"

The old man also stepped forward excitedly, his eyes revealing a hint of determination: "Then give it a try quickly. No matter whether it works or not, it's better than sitting and waiting for death."

So, they began preparing for the ceremony according to Lin Yu's instructions. The center of the temple was cleared, and a clean white cloth was spread on the ground. They gathered all the candles they could find from every corner of the temple and carefully arranged them in a large circle around the center.

Suna's hands trembled with nervousness as she diligently placed the candles one by one, silently praying for the ritual to succeed. "I hope this really works, God bless you," she muttered as she placed the candles.

The old man searched for a flame to light a candle. His steps seemed a little unsteady, but his eyes were full of determination. "I must find it, I must find it," he said, rummaging through the pile of debris, sweat beading on his forehead.

Lin Yu recalled the details of the ancient ritual over and over in his mind, fearing he might miss any crucial step. "We must not make any mistakes. This is our last hope." His heartbeat quickened, almost as if he could hear it echoing in the silent temple.

They nervously arranged everything, each action was extremely cautious. When all the preparations were completed, the ceremony was about to begin.

Lin Yu took a deep breath and slowly walked to the front of the circular candle array. He clasped his hands together, pressed them tightly against his chest, and with his eyes slightly closed, he began to mutter something. His voice was low and slow, as if he were having a mysterious conversation with an ancient deity.

Suna and the old man watched nervously from the side, their eyes not blinking and their breathing becoming slow, for fear of making any sound that would disrupt the ceremony.

Suddenly, a gentle breeze blew, rustling the temple's worn curtains. The candle flames flickered, and shadows danced on the walls like a ghostly dance. Suna's heart leaped into her throat, and she clenched her fists.

But Lin Yu's voice did not pause at all. He seemed to be completely immersed in the ritual, unaffected by any external interference. His tone became higher and higher, and his voice became more and more determined, as if issuing a final challenge to the evil forces in the darkness.

As the ceremony progressed, a strange light gradually emerged in the temple. At first, it was very faint, like the first rays of sunlight at dawn, barely visible through thick clouds. But gradually, the light grew stronger, illuminating the entire temple.

A look of surprise crossed Suna's face, tears glistening in her eyes. "Is this...is this a sign of success?" she murmured to herself.

The old man's eyes widened, unable to believe what he saw. "Maybe, maybe there is hope." His voice became hoarse with excitement.

Lin Yu continued to perform the ritual with great concentration, his forehead covered with sweat, but his expression was resolute. The light enveloped him, making him look like a divine messenger.

The atmosphere in the temple grew increasingly mysterious and solemn. The strange light seemed to possess a mysterious power that filled people with awe. However, they did not know that the appearance of this light was only the beginning, and greater challenges lay ahead...
