Danger
Lin Yu's body plunged into the turbulent river. At that moment, time seemed to freeze. His mind went blank, his heart filled with despair and fear. However, his instinct for survival made him subconsciously reach out and wave his hands wildly in the air, trying to grab anything that could save his life. At the critical moment, his hands tightly grasped a protruding part of the tree trunk, and his whole body was suspended in mid-air.
"Lin Yu!" Suna and Lao Chen screamed in terror, their voices shrill and piercing with sheer terror. Suna's heart felt as if gripped by an invisible hand, the fear barely choking her. She stared at Lin Yu's shaky form with wide eyes, tears streaming uncontrollably. "You must catch him, Lin Yu!" she prayed frantically in her heart.
The color drained from Lao Chen's face instantly, and his hands trembled unconsciously. "What should I do? What should I do?" His brain raced, trying to come up with a way to save Lin Yu.
The hooded man quickly untied the rope around his body. "Grab this end and let's pull him up!" His voice was decisive and urgent, and his eyes revealed firm determination.
Lin Yu felt his arm nearly ripped apart, a sharp pain piercing his muscles as if countless needles were piercing him. But he still held onto the bulge, not daring to let up even a little. He knew that if he let go, he would be swallowed by the surging river, with no chance of survival. "I can't give up, I can't!" he mentally encouraged himself, his teeth chattering.
Suna and Lao Chen hurried to help pull the rope, their hands sweating from nervousness, and every pull took all their strength. Their eyes were fixed on Lin Yu, with only one thought in their minds: to rescue him.
"Come on, we're almost there!" the hooded man shouted, his voice particularly loud in the tense atmosphere.
Lin Yu was pulled upward bit by bit, and with every ascent, he could feel his hope growing. But the river water continued to hit his body, making his situation even more difficult.
Finally, with everyone's concerted efforts, Lin Yu was successfully pulled ashore. He collapsed on the shore, gasping for breath, as if he had just experienced a life-or-death battle. "Thank you, everyone. It was almost over." His voice was weak and trembling, his face full of relief at having survived.
"Don't talk for now, take a break." Lao Chen said, his voice full of concern. Lao Chen himself was so tired that he sat down on the ground, his heart beating so fast that it seemed like it was going to jump out of his chest.
However, at this moment, a mysterious voice was heard from afar. The voice was faint in the wind, like the call of death.
"Oh no! They're catching up!" Suna's face turned pale, her body trembling again, and her heart, which had just been at peace, rose to her throat again. "What should we do? What should we do?" Her eyes were filled with despair and helplessness.
The hooded man looked around, anxiously searching for a place to hide. "There's a cave over here. Let's hide in there first." His voice was low and rapid.
Everyone stood up hastily and ran towards the cave. The entrance to the cave was narrow and dark, emitting a damp and cold atmosphere. But at this point, they no longer cared about so much and dived into the cave.
After entering the cave, everyone was so quiet that they huddled together tightly. In the darkness, they could only hear each other's heavy breathing and heartbeats.
The mysterious man's footsteps were getting closer and closer, and every step seemed to step on their hearts. He stopped at the entrance of the cave, and at that moment, the whole world seemed to stand still.
"Did they go into the cave?" Suna's voice trembled with nervousness. Her hands tightly grasped the corner of Lin Yu's clothes, and her body kept shaking.
Lin Yu gripped his weapon tightly, his eyes fixed on the cave entrance, ready to fight at any moment. His heartbeat raced, his heart filled with anxiety and unease. "No matter what, I must protect everyone," he vowed silently.
Just when everyone thought they were about to be discovered, the mysterious man's footsteps gradually faded away.
"It's safe for now, but we can't hide here forever," Lin Yu said, his voice particularly low in the darkness. His mind was rapidly thinking about the next plan.
"But what if we run into them again when we go out?" Old Chen said worriedly, his brows furrowed and his face full of worry.
Everyone fell silent, the atmosphere in the cave oppressive and suffocating. Everyone's heart was filled with fear and confusion, not knowing what the future held for them.
Lin Yu took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. "We must find a way to get rid of them and find a way back." His voice was not loud, but it was full of determination.
Suna sobbed softly, "I'm so scared. Can we make it back alive?"
The hooded man patted Suna's shoulder and said, "Don't be afraid. As long as we unite as one, we will be able to overcome this difficulty."
Old Chen raised his head and said, "That's right, we can't just sit there and wait for death."
Lin Yu nodded and said, "Let's rest for a while, recover our strength, and then find a way to leave here."
Everyone nodded silently in the darkness, holding a glimmer of hope in their hearts, waiting for the arrival of dawn...
