Shadow Strike
That slight movement, like the silent approach of death, pierced the stone chamber's previously tense yet relatively calm atmosphere like a sharp needle. Everyone's nerves were suddenly strained, like a bowstring about to break. Their eyes immediately turned in the direction of the sound. In the darkness, the unknown presence seemed like a demon hidden in the abyss, something stirring, and every movement seemed to tug at their fragile nerves.
Lin Yu felt his heartbeat suddenly accelerate, threatening to burst through his chest. His palms were wet with sweat as he gripped his weapon tightly, his knuckles turning white from the strain. He whispered, "Everyone, be careful. Something might be wrong." His heart was filled with anxiety and trepidation, as terrifying scenarios raced through his mind. "What the hell is this? Is it more dangerous than the previous monster?" he wondered, fear flooding his heart like a tide. But he knew he couldn't retreat; he had to protect his companions.
The director nodded slightly, signaling silence. His eyes betrayed the calm composure of a seasoned warrior. Though wary of this unknown threat, he couldn't let fear spread among his team. He approached the source of the movement cautiously, each step measured with utmost caution, as if a deadly trap might be triggered at any moment. The silence within the stone chamber magnified every subtle movement; he could even hear his own heartbeat echoing through the empty chamber.
As they approached, a blurry figure loomed in the darkness. It was slender, yet exuded a chilling, eerie aura, like a vengeful spirit crawling from the depths of hell. Its outline distorted in the darkness, making it impossible to discern its true features, yet the overwhelming malevolence was palpable.
"What is that?" Suna whispered, a hint of undisguised fear in her voice. She felt as if something was choking her throat, and every word seemed to be squeezed out from between her teeth. Her body trembled slightly uncontrollably, and an instinctive fear drove her to flee this terrifying place. But she knew there was nowhere to escape and could only cling to her companions. "Has we just escaped a disaster, and now we are in dire straits again?" she wondered desperately.
The mysterious woman frowned, her eyes fixed on the blurry figure. She softly replied, "I'm not sure, but I have a feeling it's not a good person." Her heart was filled with doubt and vigilance. As a member of the witch clan, she had witnessed many mysterious and dangerous things, but the figure before her made her feel an unprecedented sense of unease. "This aura doesn't seem like that of an ordinary creature. What is its origin?" she pondered, searching her memory for clues about this figure.
Suddenly, the figure pounced at him like a ghost, so fast that the person had no time to react. A flash of cold light, like a meteor streaking across the night sky, but with deadly murderous intent, it stabbed towards the director. The director felt only a flash of cold light before his eyes, and a chill rushed towards him. He subconsciously dodged to the side, his body reacting instinctively in an instant. The cold light grazed his clothes, making a hissing sound and leaving a rip. The cold air penetrated his skin through the slit in his clothes, making him shiver.
"Attack!" the director shouted, his voice filled with unquestionable decisiveness. His heart was filled with anger and determination, and he would never let this mysterious figure act recklessly in front of them.
Hearing the director's call, Lin Yu rushed forward without hesitation. His eyes burned with anger, and he temporarily cast aside the fear in his heart. He swung his weapon and slashed at the figure with an unstoppable momentum. The weapon drew an arc in the air, bringing with it a gust of wind. However, the figure was as agile as a ghost, and with a slight flash, it easily avoided Lin Yu's attack. Then, it struck back with lightning speed, hitting Lin Yu's arm. Lin Yu only felt a sharp pain in his arm, as if hit by a heavy hammer, and the weapon in his hand almost fell because of the sudden pain.
"Ah!" Lin Yu couldn't help but cry out in pain, his heart filled with resentment. "Damn, this guy is too flexible!" He gritted his teeth, endured the pain in his arm, and gripped his weapon again, ready to launch a new round of attack.
Seeing this, the old man knew there was no time for hesitation. He swiftly swung his staff, muttering something. A dazzling light flashed from the tip of the staff, and like a sharp arrow, it shot towards the figure. The light traced a brilliant path through the darkness, carrying the old man's anger and power. The figure seemed wary of the old man's magic, feeling the overwhelming force coming towards them. They paused, forced to step back.
The mysterious woman seized the opportunity to unleash her witch magic. She formed hand seals rapidly and uttered a series of ancient incantations. Runes flew from her hands, shimmering with mysterious light and flying like fireflies towards the figure, attempting to trap it. The figure was trapped within the runes, which formed a cage of light, confining it. However, the figure remained unfazed. Instead, it let out a sharp cry, like a sharp blade, piercing everyone's eardrums and causing a splitting headache.
"That sound..." Suna covered her ears in pain, the fear in her heart becoming stronger. "What on earth does it want to do?"
Suna also cast a protective spell. She concentrated, channeling all her remaining mana into the spell. A transparent shield slowly rose around them, enveloping them like a solid fortress, protecting them from sudden attacks from the figure. A faint light shimmered on the shield's surface, making it particularly striking in the darkness.
