Episode 243: Mysterious Ruins Appear

Mysterious ruins discovered

Lin Yu and Suna, exhausted yet grateful for their survival, continued their arduous journey along the winding canyon. The air seemed thick and heavy from the thrilling battle, tinged with a nauseating, faint scent of blood, like the cruel legacy of a battlefield. The surroundings were as still as death, their heavy, dragging footsteps echoing lonely off the jagged canyon walls, each one a knock on their taut nerves.

Lin Yu shifted his eyes warily, observing every movement around him like a sharp cheetah. He thought to himself, this Worm Valley seemed like an endless, dangerous abyss, lurking with danger at every step. No one could predict what terrifying danger would suddenly emerge from a dark corner in the next second. He turned his head slightly, his gaze falling on Suna. Although she looked exhausted and haggard, her eyes still burned with a determined fire, and he couldn't help but feel a surge of sincere admiration. "Suna, how are you? Can you hold on? The dangers in this Worm Valley are like shadows, one after another. We can't let down our guard. We must remain vigilant at all times." Lin Yu's voice was low and concerned, and it was particularly clear in the silent canyon.

Suna nodded slightly, forcing a smile to dispel the tense atmosphere. "I'm fine, don't worry. I've been through so many life-or-death trials, and I've already prepared myself. But this Insect Valley is so mysterious and unpredictable. I don't know what even more terrifying things are lurking out there." Suna's voice was tired, but it also revealed an unyielding strength.

The two continued their journey in silence, time slipping slowly in a tense and uneasy state. After an unseen moment, the canyon ahead opened up, revealing an ancient and mysterious ruin like a sleeping beast. It seemed as if it had spanned countless ages, its walls covered in lush green ivy, like a green cloak woven by time. Some of the stones, weathered and mottled, seemed to silently speak of the vicissitudes and mysteries of the past. The gate to the ruins stood ajar, like a mouth about to speak, but unable to. A faint light shone through, a ghostly call, tempting them to step into this unknown and mysterious realm.

"What is this place? It looks so mysterious," Suna whispered, her voice unconsciously lowered, as if afraid to disturb the dormant ruins. Her eyes held a hint of curiosity, like an adventurer exploring unknown treasures, but also a deep sense of caution. After all, in this perilous Worm Valley, anything seemingly beautiful could conceal a deadly trap.

Lin Yu frowned, his expression focused and serious, carefully examining the layout of the ruins and the surrounding environment. His gaze was like a hawk's, not missing a single detail. "Judging from the architectural style, these must be the remains of an ancient tribe. But there's an indescribable eerie aura permeating this place, as if a pair of eyes are watching us from the darkness. We must be extremely careful when we enter. The slightest misstep could lead us to a place of no return." Lin Yu's voice was low and solemn, like a warning bell.

The two slowly approached the gate of the ruins, taking each step cautiously, as if a deadly mechanism might be triggered at any moment. Lin Yu reached out and gently pushed the half-open door. With a creak, the door emitted a piercing sound, like the cry of a night owl, which was particularly terrifying in the silent environment, as if it was a warning from the ruins to their intrusion. Inside the door was a long passage. The walls on both sides of the passage were inlaid with some luminous stones. The light from these stones was weak and swaying, barely illuminating their way forward, but it also cast mottled and eerie shadows on the ground, as if countless ghosts were wandering around them.

Further along the passage, they arrived at a vast stone chamber. The space was vast and empty, like a mysterious palace forgotten by time. In the center of the chamber stood a stone platform, upon which rested a softly glowing crystal ball. The crystal ball, like a brilliant star, quietly exuded a mysterious aura. Strange runes were engraved around the crystal ball, gleaming with a faint, mysterious light, as if echoing with the crystal ball or reciting an ancient, mystical spell.

"This crystal ball doesn't look simple. The runes on it seem to contain some powerful power." Lin Yu approached the stone platform, his eyes fixed on the crystal ball. He felt a strong urge to touch it, but years of adventure experience made him feel that something was wrong, as if once touched, it would trigger an unpredictable disaster.

Suna also slowly stepped forward, her gaze instantly drawn to the crystal ball, as if drawn by an invisible force. "I can sense something sealed within this crystal ball, or perhaps conveying some mysterious message. It's a strange feeling, yet also unsettling." Suna frowned slightly, a hint of confusion and worry in her eyes.

At that moment, a strange light suddenly emanated from the stone chamber's walls. Within the flickering light, projections appeared. The projections showed a group of people in bizarre attire performing some kind of ritual around a crystal ball. Their attire was vibrant yet exuded an air of ancient mystery. Their expressions were solemn and reverent, as if they were engaging in a sacred ritual to communicate with the spirits. They muttered something, their voices deep and distant, as if traveling through time and space, reaching Lin Yu and Suna's ears, though they could not make out the specifics of their words.

"What are they doing?" Lin Yu looked at the projection in confusion, his eyes filled with curiosity and a desire to explore. He tried to find some clues from the images to solve the mystery of this mysterious relic, but everything in the images seemed so strange and mysterious.
