Episode 257: All or Nothing, Jedi Counterattack

A desperate counterattack

Lin Yu, Suna, and the mayor quickly gathered the young and strong men in town who had some martial arts experience, and they urgently discussed countermeasures in the town square. Everyone sat tightly together, the atmosphere heavy and suffocating, like a heavy lead block, like the dark clouds in the sky before a storm. A great battle was about to break out.

The mayor's face was as hard as steel, his expression extremely serious. He was the first to break the silence, his voice full of deep worry: "The mysterious man has stolen the sealed treasure and may complete the evil ritual at any time. If he releases that terrible evil power, our town will be doomed. Therefore, we must come up with a practical solution as quickly as possible to stop his crazy actions."

A young and energetic hunter, with his eyes wide open, clenched his fists in anger, his knuckles turning white from the force, and shouted, "What are we waiting for? Let's take the initiative and go find him directly. We must take the treasure back even if it means risking our lives. We must not let him do whatever he wants on our territory!" His words were full of passion and impulse, like a burning flame.

After hearing this, everyone nodded subconsciously, their eyes revealing a determined fighting spirit. However, Lin Yu frowned slightly, and a glimmer of thought flashed in his deep eyes. He knew very well that facing such a strange and powerful mysterious man, he must not act rashly. He spoke slowly, his tone calm and steady: "The mysterious man's magic is very strange. Until now, we still don't know how strong he is, nor do we know where he is hiding. If we rush out blindly like this, we may fall into the trap he set, and then we will be completely passive. Therefore, we must first find a way to find his possible hiding place. Knowing ourselves and the enemy, we can win every battle."

Suna nodded in agreement, her eyes gleaming with wisdom and calmness as she added, "That's right, and we have no idea where or how he'll perform the ritual. If we act rashly and alert him, allowing him to complete the ritual prematurely, the consequences will be disastrous. We must proceed with caution and come up with a thorough plan."

Just as everyone was racking their brains, still at a loss, an elderly hunter with gray hair hesitantly stepped forward. His lips trembled slightly as he spoke slowly, "I... I suddenly remembered something. There's an abandoned mine outside of town. Years ago, someone saw a strange light nearby, flickering and looking quite eerie. Now that I think about it, could it be connected to this mysterious man?"

After hearing this, Lin Yu's eyes suddenly lit up, as if he saw a ray of light in the darkness. He said excitedly: "This may be the important clue we have been looking for! I suggest that we split into two groups. One group will stay in the town to strengthen defense to prevent the mysterious person from sneaking in and causing trouble; the other group will go with us to the mine to check the situation. Maybe we can find the mysterious person and take back the treasure."

After a tense discussion, everyone quickly came to a detailed plan. The mayor, with a solemn expression, led a group of people to stay in the town and methodically organize the defense. They set up roadblocks at the town entrance and arranged patrols, ready to respond to any possible emergencies. Meanwhile, Lin Yu, Suna, and several other brave townspeople headed towards the abandoned mine under the setting sun.

The sky gradually darkened, the setting sun a blood-red, tinting the earth an eerie crimson. The afterglow cast long shadows across the crowd, like a group of warriors about to depart for battle, yet with a touch of tragic grandeur. The entire journey was silent, a heaviness weighing heavily on everyone's heart. The atmosphere was tense, almost taut with tension. The occasional rustle of the wind, like the whispers of death, sent a chill through the heart.

When they finally reached the abandoned mine, a chilling, eerie atmosphere permeated the area around the shaft. The mine resembled a gigantic, blood-thirsty monster, its dark hole seemingly intent on devouring everything in the world. Lin Yu approached the shaft cautiously, his heart pounding in his chest, threatening to burst. He slowly crouched down and peered down into the depths of the shaft, only to be met with endless darkness, like the depths of the universe. Occasionally, a sinister wind rustled, like the howling of ghosts and wolves from the depths of hell, a terrifying chill in his spine.

Su Na walked gently to Lin Yu's side, her voice as low as a mosquito, but it was particularly clear in the silent atmosphere: "Something feels so wrong here, as if countless pairs of eyes are staring at us in the dark. Everyone must be careful and don't act rashly." There was a hint of fear in her eyes, but more of it was determination and vigilance.

Everyone nodded silently, their eyes filled with tension and wariness. They carefully descended the ropes to the bottom of the shaft. A pungent, putrid odor filled the air, making them nauseous. Around them lay shabby, shadowy figures in the dim light, like ghosts hiding secrets, a particularly eerie presence. They advanced along the narrow, winding passage, taking each step cautiously. The sound of their footsteps echoed in the silent mine, amplified as if countless eyes were watching their every move from the darkness, making them feel uneasy.

Suddenly, a faint light appeared ahead, standing out against the darkness. Lin Yu's heart tightened, and he immediately signaled everyone to stop. He lowered his voice, almost whispering, "It looks like we've found the right place. Everyone, be careful, approach slowly, and don't make any noise." Everyone held their breath and cautiously moved toward the light, each step feeling like it was timed to their heartbeat.
