The divine beast gazed at the ancient tome in Lin Yu and Suna's hands, nodding slowly. A subtle glint of recognition flickered in the deep light of its eyes. "It seems you possess extraordinary abilities, but the next test will be the true challenge." The divine beast flapped its wings, and instantly, a fierce wind blew up, a howling sound that threatened to tear the entire space apart. The gusts of wind passed by violently, and when they died down, an intricate maze pattern slowly emerged on the floor of the circular space.
"The second test is to find the exit in this maze. This maze is filled with all kinds of illusions and deadly traps. If you make a mistake, you will be trapped in an irretrievable situation. The time limit is half an hour." The powerful voice of the divine beast echoed in the space like thunder, with unquestionable majesty, heavily hitting the eardrums of Lin Yu and Suna.
Lin Yu and Suna gazed at the enigmatic maze before them, both knowing that this was undoubtedly an extremely daunting challenge. Lin Yu held Suna's hand tightly, the warmth of his palm seeming to convey endless strength and comfort. He whispered, "Don't be afraid, Suna. Together, we'll be careful and we'll definitely find the exit." Suna nodded slightly, her eyes filled with unwavering determination, like a star shining brightly in the darkness.
They entered the maze with trepidation yet determination. A strange and cold light flickered on the walls, as if countless pairs of eyes hidden in the darkness were watching their every move, making them feel uncomfortable. Not long after they walked, two forks appeared in front of them. One emitted a soft blue light, like a tranquil lake, while the other was filled with an eerie red light, like a blazing fire, exuding a chilling atmosphere. Lin Yu frowned, lost in deep thought. He whispered to himself, "Both of these paths seem to be fraught with danger. We must choose carefully." Suna observed the subtle differences between the two paths intently. After a moment, she slowly said, "The blue path has a soft light, but it's unusually calm, which makes people feel uneasy. The red path is eerie, but it seems to have an invisible magic that is attracting us. Perhaps, behind the danger lies the right direction."
Lin Yu pondered for a moment, convinced that Suna's words were a perfect fit, and ultimately agreed with her judgment. They mustered their courage and chose the path of red light. However, the moment they entered, the surroundings suddenly shifted. They felt as if they were in a raging sea of fire. The blazing flames, like a demon with bared fangs and claws, rushed towards them, searing their skin and threatening to incinerate their very souls. Without a second thought, Lin Yu swiftly drew his sword, its blade gleaming coldly in the firelight. He slashed at the flames with all his might, attempting to dispel the nightmarish flames. However, the sword's impact on the flames was like striking air, ineffective; the flames continued to spread unchecked. Suna, distraught, shouted, "This is an illusion, Lin Yu. We must not be deceived by it. Close your eyes and feel the true path with your heart." Hearing this, Lin Yu took a deep breath, suppressed his fear, and slowly closed his eyes, concentrating his mind on the flow of the air around him. Under the interference of the flames, he vaguely felt that there was a weak but unique airflow surging in one direction.
"Follow me." Lin Yu held Suna's hand tightly and groped forward in the direction of the airflow. As they moved forward step by step, the burning sensation brought by the flames gradually dissipated, and the scene in front of them slowly returned to the appearance of a maze. However, before they could breathe a sigh of relief, the ground under their feet suddenly began to shake violently, as if a strong earthquake had occurred. Cracks spread rapidly in front of them like the mouths of a ferocious beast, and pungent smoke spewed out of the cracks, making people sick. Lin Yu was quick-eyed and quick-handed. Without thinking, he picked up Suna. His arm muscles were tense, and he used all his strength to jump over the crack. The moment he landed, his feet sank deeply into the ground, splashing a cloud of dust.
They continued their arduous journey through the maze, encountering one terrifying illusion after another and deadly traps after another. Sometimes, ferocious beasts suddenly leaped from the darkness, claws and fangs bared, pouncing at them, their bloody maws threatening to devour them whole. Sometimes, the ground beneath their feet suddenly collapsed without warning, revealing a bottomless black hole that seemed to devour them mercilessly. But thanks to Lin Yu's calm judgment and Suna's careful observation, they repeatedly escaped danger. With each successful avoidance of a trap, each time they broke free from the constraints of an illusion, their hearts raced, sweat drenched their clothes, but their faith grew stronger.
More than half an hour had passed, but they were still wandering in the maze, having yet to find the exit. Lin Yu couldn't help but feel a little anxious. Time was slipping away like sand in an hourglass, and every second was excruciating. But he knew that in times like these, he needed to remain calm; panic would only make the situation worse. Just then, Su Na suddenly called out excitedly, "Lin Yu, look at these symbols. Could they be clues to the exit?" Lin Yu hurried forward to examine them more closely. He saw some strange symbols engraved on the wall in front of him. These symbols had twisted lines and various shapes, and seemed to have some hidden connection with the ancient books they had seen before.
"Suna, you're so attentive." A glimmer of hope flashed in Lin Yu's eyes. He and Suna carefully studied the symbols and discovered that they formed a simple yet cryptic arrow. They followed the arrow's direction, their hearts filled with anticipation and nervousness. Finally, not far ahead, they saw the maze's exit. A soft glow emanated from it, like a ray of hope guiding them through the darkness.
