Episode 51: The Truth Comes to Light

The Truth Comes to Light

The pale face suddenly appeared, looking particularly eerie and terrifying under the dim, flickering light. Everyone stepped back in terror, as if being violently pushed by an invisible force.

"Ah!" someone couldn't help but scream. The sound was sharp and piercing, instantly shattering the originally solemn atmosphere in the warehouse. The scream echoed in the empty warehouse, making everyone's heart beat rapidly.

Lin Yu suppressed the fear that threatened to burst through his chest. With trembling hands, he raised the flashlight and shone the trembling light towards the face. In the dim light, he finally saw a haggard woman. Her hair was disheveled, covering most of her face. Her eyes revealed a deep fear and helplessness, as if she were trapped in an endless nightmare, unable to escape.

"Who are you? Why are you here?" Lin Yu asked in a trembling voice. His throat felt as if it were being tightly gripped by an invisible hand, and every word was extremely difficult to utter. He stared at the woman, trying to find a clue from her expression and answer.

The woman's body was shaking constantly, and her lips were trembling. "I... I was tricked into coming here." Her voice was so weak that it was almost inaudible, as if all her strength had been drained away by fear.

Suna stepped forward, trying to make her voice sound gentle and soothing. "Don't be afraid, tell us what happened." Her eyes were full of sympathy and concern, trying to give the woman some courage and strength.

The woman sobbed, tears streaming down her pale cheeks. "Someone told me to send you a package and then lured you here, saying... they'd give me a large sum of money." Her voice was filled with despair and regret. "I needed the money so badly, I agreed without giving it a second thought." She hugged herself tightly, as if that were the only way to give herself a sense of security.

Old Chen frowned, his eyes revealing suspicion and vigilance. "Who ordered you to do this?" His voice was low and stern, trying to break the woman's psychological defenses and get more information.

The woman shook her head frantically, her hair swirling wildly around her face. "I don't know, I really don't know. I've never met that person," she cried. "He's always contacted me by phone, and the audio is censored. I really don't know anything." Her eyes were filled with fear and confusion, as if she had fallen into an abyss from which there was no escape.

At this moment, footsteps were heard from deep within the warehouse. The footsteps were slow and heavy, and each step seemed to tread on everyone's heart.

"Who's there?" Lin Yu shouted. His voice echoed in the warehouse, but there was no response. Only the footsteps continued to arrive slowly, getting closer and closer, as if carrying an irresistible sense of oppression.

Everyone nervously gripped their weapons, their palms dripping with sweat. Their gazes were fixed on the direction of the footsteps, their heartbeats rumbling like thunder in their ears.

"Everyone be careful!" Lao Chen whispered, his body tense, ready to deal with any possible danger at any time.

The footsteps were getting closer and closer, and a dark figure slowly walked out. In the dim light, the outline of the shadow gradually became clearer, almost making people's breathing stop.

Everyone's eyes were wide open, and fear spread in their eyes.

As the shadow approached, the light finally illuminated his face. It turned out to be the strange man he had met in the forest before.

"It's you!" Lin Yu said in surprise. His voice was full of surprise and vigilance, and his mind quickly flashed through all the encounters with the strange man in the forest.

The strange man sneered, and the laughter echoed in the warehouse, making people shudder. "You didn't expect that we would meet again." His eyes revealed a mysterious and strange light, which made people shudder.

"What on earth do you want to do?" Lin Yu asked angrily. His anger was mixed with fear and confusion. He didn't understand why this strange man always appeared in front of them like a ghost.

The strange man looked at everyone and said slowly: "You have broken into a place you shouldn't enter. That forest holds unknown secrets. And your courage has attracted the attention of certain beings." His voice was low and hoarse, as if it came from the depths of hell.

"What does it mean? What kind of existence is this?" Suna asked anxiously. Her eyes were filled with desire and fear. She wanted to know the truth, but she was afraid that the truth was too terrifying.

The strange man was silent for a moment, and the atmosphere around him seemed to become heavier and more oppressive with his silence. "Follow me, I'll show you for yourself." He said, turning and walking deeper into the warehouse.

Everyone looked at each other, their eyes filled with hesitation and fear. They didn't know whether they should believe this strange man, but in order to uncover the truth, they finally decided to follow him.

Lin Yu took a deep breath and said, "Everyone, be careful and go."

They followed the strange man. The warehouse was filled with a stale and decaying smell. Water droplets on the wall dripped onto the ground, making a crisp sound. Every step they took felt like stepping into an unknown and terrifying world.

"I always feel like this is a trap." A team member whispered, his voice full of anxiety.

"Whether it's a trap or not, we have no way out." Lao Chen said, his eyes firm and resolute.

Su Na's heartbeat accelerated rapidly, and she grabbed the corner of Lin Yu's clothes tightly, as if it was her only life-saving straw.

A strange man was walking in front, his figure looking particularly mysterious and terrifying in the dim light.

Finally, they arrived at a huge room filled with a pungent smell and surrounded by strange instruments and specimens.

"What is this place?" Lin Yu asked.

The strange man turned around and said slowly: "This is the secret of that forest."

At this moment, a strange sound suddenly rang out in the room...
