Crisis in the Dark
In the pitch-black darkness, the sound of everyone's heartbeats was as clear as the rapid beat of drums. Each heartbeat seemed a response to the unknown fear, and it was particularly loud in the dead silence. Lin Yu anxiously tried to turn on the flashlight, his fingers frantically pressing the switch, but the once reliable flashlight seemed to be suppressed by some mysterious force in the darkness and would not light up.
"What the hell is going on?" Lin Yu cursed, his voice filled with anger and helplessness. Fine beads of sweat formed on his forehead, sliding down his cheeks in the darkness, bringing a slight chill. "This damn place, nothing is right!" He roared inwardly, fear and anxiety like two invisible hands, tightly strangling his throat.
At this moment, the approaching sound became clearer and clearer, like something slowly moving, or heavy footsteps dragging forward. The sound seemed to carry an irresistible sense of oppression, an invisible pressure that weighed heavily on everyone like a block of lead.
"Everyone, stay still. Be cautious," Old Chen said in a low voice. Although he tried to remain calm, a slight tremor could still be heard in his voice. His breathing became rapid, his heart beat like a drum, and all kinds of terrible speculations kept flashing through his mind. "Don't panic. Stay calm," he silently warned himself, hoping to calm everyone down.
Su Na clutched Lin Yu's clothes tightly, her body trembling constantly, her voice tinged with tears: "I'm so scared." Her voice sounded particularly fragile and helpless in the darkness, like a child lost in the darkness. "Will we die here?" Various terrifying images kept emerging in her mind, those twisted black shadows and hideous faces, making it almost impossible for her to breathe.
Suddenly, a sharp scream came from the darkness. The scream was like a sharp thorn, piercing everyone's eardrums and stinging their nerves.
"Ah!" A team member couldn't help but scream out, his voice filled with extreme fear and despair. This sudden cry echoed in the darkness, making the already extremely tense atmosphere even more suffocating.
"Shut up!" Lin Yu roared, his voice booming in the darkness, carrying an irresistible majesty. "Everyone, calm down!" His heartbeat accelerated rapidly, his brain racing, thinking of a response. "We can't let fear take over our minds. We must stay clear-headed." He kept encouraging himself while also trying to calm the team members.
At this moment, a pair of cold hands grabbed the ankles of a team member. Those hands seemed to be ghosts from hell, icy cold and piercing, making people shudder.
"Help!" He screamed in terror, his voice distorted by extreme fear. He struggled desperately, trying to break free from the hands, but the hands held him tightly like iron pliers, not letting go.
Everyone frantically groped toward the sound. In the darkness, their hands waved wildly in the air, trying to catch their companions. Lin Yu's breathing became rapid and heavy, his heart filled with worry and fear. "I must find him, I must!" He prayed silently in his heart.
"I'm here!" The team member's voice was crying and full of despair.
Lao Chen was the first to touch his body. "Don't be afraid, we are here!" He tried to comfort the team members, but his voice was trembling.
Lin Yu also arrived and pulled hard at the hands, trying to pry them apart. But the hands were surprisingly strong, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't break free.
"Everyone, work together!" Lin Yu shouted.
Everyone worked together and exerted their strength. After a fierce tug, the hands finally loosened.
"Let's go!" Lin Yu said loudly.
The team members stumbled and ran in the darkness with only one thought in their minds: to escape from this terrible place.
Suna accidentally fell to the ground, "Save me!" Her voice was full of fear.
Lin Yu turned around and helped her up, "Don't be afraid, follow me closely!"
They didn't know how long they had been running in the dark, nor did they know if the direction was correct, they only knew that they couldn't stop.
Suddenly, a faint light appeared ahead.
"What is that?" someone asked.
"I don't know, but maybe it's a way out." Lin Yu said.
Everyone ran towards the light, their hearts filled with hope...
