Tao Huayu was wearing a safety helmet and had just come out of a warehouse. There was a layer of white ash on his head and shoulders.
"Why did you come here together?" he asked, but Guagua started to teach him the language first.
Then, under the guidance of Liu Wangxue, he completed the correct way of answering.
Tao Qinglei asked him, "Brother Huayu, are you free tomorrow? I have to go to school to register and talk to my class teacher about going to the training camp. My parents are afraid that they won't be able to tell them well, so they would like to trouble you to go with us."
Tao Huayu nodded: "Sure, if you're free, the school isn't far away. Just call me at my house before you leave."
Tao Qinglei smiled so hard that his little tiger teeth were exposed: "Thank you, brother! Then you go ahead and do your work. I'm leaving now! Sister Xuxu, thank you!"
"What's going on with him?" Tao Huayu asked, pointing at the child's jumping back.
"I woke them up with just a few words," Liu Wangxue said with a smile, "and strengthened their determination to work hard."
Tao Huayu gave a thumbs up and asked, "What do you want to talk to me about?"
Liu Wangxue acted like a fox using the power of a tiger to bully others: "Boss Du wants to know the progress of the project. I came to check it out and take a video to send back."
Tao Huayu immediately bowed and extended his hand: "Please——"
Liu Wangxue was holding a cat, with a bird standing on her shoulder and a big golden retriever following her. She was led by Tao Huayu to inspect the construction site and took a video at every stop.
Tao Huayu looked at the obedient and quiet little green bird on her shoulder and said, "Doesn't it greet everyone it sees? Why is it so motionless after coming in?"
Liu Wangxue held up her phone to record: "Maybe there are too many people, are you tired?"
“Social birds are also picky about their environment!”
After looking around, Manager Tao asked respectfully, "Do you think Mr. Du will be satisfied?"
Liu Wangxue stroked the cat's head with her orchid finger: "Well, young man, work hard, your future is limitless."
Forget it, I couldn’t hold it back anymore, Liu Wangxue started laughing first.
When I just came in, I noticed a lame, thin man next to the concrete mixer. He was limping and pushing a cart, carrying the cement loaded by the workers to the storage warehouse.
Liu Wangxue whispered to Tao Huayu: "Your construction site still recruits disabled people? Aren't you afraid that they will get into danger?"
Xu Qingsong and Du Yunkai didn't tell Liu Wangxue in detail about the process of renting a house, so she didn't know this person. I have been concentrating on writing the script before, and today is the first time I come here.
"You're talking about Jiahong." Tao Huayu explained to Liu Wangxue, "It can't be helped. We're from the same village. His parents came to my house to find me, so I just did them a favor. I also told the others to help take care of him as much as possible."
After Tao Jiahong was rescued from the pyramid scheme, he only rested for two or three days at home before going to the town to find a job.
His parents advised him to take care of his health first, as could he go without a meal at home?
Tao Jiahong was unwilling to do so. He felt that he had to work. How could he live without income? His parents were old and he didn't have a penny. He couldn't fulfill his filial duties and had to rely on his parents. What kind of person was he? He might as well be an animal.
But his current condition was not very good. He was skinny and had a limp. No job seeker in the town wanted him, fearing that he was someone who had just been convicted of a crime.
After running into a series of setbacks for a few days, the old couple were afraid that he would be unhappy, so they didn't dare to speak loudly at home.
When Jiahong's father went to the village store to buy salt, he heard that the old village committee site had been rented by a big boss and Tao Huayu was asked to renovate it. After returning home, he secretly discussed it with Jiahong's mother and went to Tao Huayu's house with his things.
"Uncle, I am ashamed to ask you for a favor." Jiahong's father explained his purpose. He didn't want Tao Huayu to help him find a job, but just wanted him to assign some work on the construction site to Tao Jiahong.
"He has been holding this matter in his mind these days. He finally came back, and your uncle and I are worried that something might happen to him." Jia Hong's mother said as she took out a small cloth bag, half the size of a palm, which was obviously sewn by herself.
She said, "He is in such a state that he cannot do any work. You can teach him some easy tasks. Here is 1,500 yuan. Take it and pay it to him as our salary. Just give him 20 or 30 yuan a day."
Before Tao Huayu could even open his mouth, his parents blocked him: "You're working for his kid and you have to pay for it yourself. What kind of thing is that? Take it back!"
The parents on both sides were pushing each other and Tao Huayu had no room to speak at all.
"Oh, all right!" He raised his voice, interrupting their attempts to persuade each other, "Uncle and aunt, keep the money. If Jiahong wants to come, he can come. I will pay him as usual, and he can do what he can."
Tao Huayu understood that Tao Jiahong probably just wanted to prove that he was not useless and was still a useful person. They grew up together. Tao Jiahong was a few years older than him. When he was a child, he always chased after him to ask for food.
"Wait a minute, there's one more thing. Mom, go ahead." Tao Huayu stopped Jiahong's parents who wanted to speak. Even if they didn't come, Tao's mother would still take the time to go over.
Tao's mother seemed to have just remembered and said, "This matter is more important. It is about Jiahong's leg. Professor Xu's son, Xiao Qingsong, do you still know him?"
Jiahong's parents nodded together and said they had met each other on the road.
Tao's mother went on to say, "He has a friend who is a doctor and the chief of surgery. He asked around and said that Jiahong's condition should still be treatable, but he had to go to the hospital for an X-ray first.
Well, don't worry about work for now, the child's health is more important. Why don't you go back and ask Jiahong what he thinks? "
After Jiahong's parents returned home, they told their son what happened.
After hearing this, Tao Jiahong's face did not fluctuate. He had already checked and found that the cost of the surgery was not low. He pretended to be relaxed and comforted his parents: "It's okay, it's just a lame leg, it's not a disease. I will go to Huayu tomorrow. Working and making money are more important."
The old couple was thinking about something else: "If your leg is healed soon, we can find you a wife."
Before Tao Jiahong was deceived into joining the pyramid scheme, he was already preparing to go on a blind date.
In rural areas, it is rare to find someone who is still unmarried in his thirties.
If someone is being urged to get married and uses Tao Huayu as an example to refute, his family will say: "He runs a company and has plenty of money. What kind of person do you want to find? Do you have money? If you don't have money, don't talk nonsense."
Tao Jiahong himself had been dating someone for several years. When they were preparing to discuss marriage, they broke up over the bride price and they never dated again after that.
His parents were worried, and since he was about to turn 30, they arranged a blind date for him. But he was tempted by the high salary, and finally chose what others called "making a lot of money" and plunged into the scam.
Tao Jiahong no longer thinks about getting married. He just wants to live in the present and recover first.
So he came to the construction site.
Seeing how fragile he was, everyone wanted to take care of him, but he declined. He didn't want to embarrass Tao Huayu, nor did he want to accept other people's sympathy.
