190. Chapter 190 Love Letter Incident

After the argument, we decided to buy a house. After all, it was for the children.

Old Li saved money desperately, emptied the savings of his parents and borrowed some from relatives, and finally bought a second-hand house in the community where he and his son now live.

Li Yu lived up to expectations and was admitted to the junior high school of the No. 1 Middle School in the city.

However, the house was quite far from the school and was not the one the hostess had initially chosen, so she did not feel any joy at all when she moved into the new house.

Before moving, she quit her job in the small town. After coming to the city, she devoted all her time and energy to Li Yu.

The child was left with almost no breathing space due to the heavy workload and cram schools, so much so that Mr. Li always believed that his son's short growth was caused by this period.

Once, she attended a high school reunion. After she came back, she was dissatisfied with everything and found all kinds of excuses to use cold violence or get angry at Lao Li and Li Yu.

Li Yu was so scared that he was like a little quail. He trembled and hid behind Lao Li.

She threw the cup in her hand, and then overturned the table: "What do you two mean by that? You two are teaming up to treat me as your enemy, right?"

At that time, the financial burden of the family fell entirely on Mr. Li. He had to pay off debts, take care of the family's daily expenses, and the fees for his son's various tutoring classes. He was almost sick from overwork.

Old Li sent his son back to the bedroom, closed the door, and had a big fight with her, smashing almost everything in the living room. It was not until the neighbor downstairs came up and knocked on the door that the quarrel calmed down on the surface.

——This is the second time.

In the second semester of the second year of junior high school, a little girl wrote a love letter to Li Yu. The letter was written on pink paper and folded into the shape of a heart. She secretly put the letter into the outer pocket of his schoolbag when everyone was crowded downstairs after school.

In the evening, when Li Yu was doing his homework, she came in to check as usual. She saw it as soon as she unzipped it, and then took it away calmly.

The next morning, after Li Yu went to school, she followed him. The little girl signed her class and name in the love letter, so she found the person easily.

She called the little girl to the corridor and humiliated her severely.

That morning, the head teacher's electric bike broke down on the road. When he arrived at the school and climbed up the teaching building, the bell for the end of morning reading rang.

Amid the shrill ringing of the bell, the head teacher saw a girl from his class crying and trying to climb the railing in the corridor. Fortunately, she was held tightly by several students who rushed out in time.

The head teacher took everyone back to the office. His legs were shaking when he went downstairs. He staggered for a while and grabbed the handrail, only to find that he was covered in cold sweat.

On the first floor, Li Yu was standing at the door of his classroom, covering his face where he had been slapped. His ears were buzzing. He was looking at his mother, who seemed like a stranger in front of him, with a hideous face and lips opening and closing.

The verbal violence ended only after a student informed the class teacher.

After arriving at the office, the little girl burst into tears again as soon as she saw Li Yu's mother.

After much effort to persuade her, the little girl started pointing at Li Yu's nose, making innuendos and blaming him in a roundabout way before her class teacher even opened his mouth to ask her for an explanation.

Li Yu was most afraid of her being like this, so he tried to hide behind his head teacher, but failed. He went directly under the desk and held on to the chair tightly to cover himself.

When all the noises gradually died down, the head teacher squatted beside the table and said softly to Li Yu, "Child, it's okay, come out."

Li Yu curled up in a ball. Before he could respond to the head teacher, she came over and slammed the table again: "Come out here, you hear me! Your grades are dropping and you're still in love, but you're hiding instead of repenting. What are you hiding for? I'm warning you, don't be like your father, that coward. Come out here right now!"

Another teacher came over immediately and pulled her aside to sit down.

Li Yu squatted under the table and trembled, begging in a trembling voice: "Teacher, please call my dad, please, let my dad come over..."

Old Li had already followed the construction team to the next city. He was putting putty on the wall when he received the call. He immediately dropped his things, went out and took a taxi back.

He was wearing a dirty work suit. He got off the car at the school gate and ran to the office in the teaching building. He didn't even have time to listen to what the head teacher said. When he saw his son hiding under the table, his heart ached: "Xiaoyu, don't be afraid, Dad is here, come out——"

When Li Yu heard the familiar voice, he raised his face from his knees and saw Lao Li's face through the gap. Then he slowly loosened his grip on the chair leg and came out.

He had been squatting for more than two hours and his legs were numb. He suddenly threw himself into Lao Li's arms and burst into tears.

It was as if she wanted to cry out all the grievances she had suffered over the years in one go.

Old Li held him like that, and waited until he finished crying and his emotions gradually calmed down before asking the head teacher what had happened.

Most of the teachers in the office had gone to class. Li Yu's head teacher was an old teacher who had seen a lot of outrageous things. He sighed in his heart, pulled a chair over for Li and motioned for him to sit down.

Old Li listened to the whole thing in silence, asked Li Yu for a few days off, and then coldly spat out four words to the chattering woman beside him: "Go home and get a divorce."

They persuaded the couple to reconcile rather than to separate. After the relatives on both sides found out, they all asked Lao Li to think about the children. No matter how unhappy things were between the couple, they had to tolerate each other and let the children have a complete family.

It’s not that Old Li hasn’t thought about this, but because of this, his patience and concessions have allowed the other party to get more than an inch, making his life doubly difficult, and his son’s life doubly difficult as well.

After having long conversations with his son these days, Mr. Li finally fully understood what kind of life his son had lived since he was a child. Perhaps the prisoners in prison are freer than he is.

So what's the point of maintaining this kind of marriage? It only brings harm to the children.

Li Yu is now unable to be alone with his mother in the same space. He has nightmares almost every night since he took leave.

When Mr. Li called the class teacher and helped Li Yu extend his leave, he told him about the situation and, at the teacher's suggestion, took the child to see a psychologist.

The first time he came across a word was "depression".

The doctor said: "The child has a serious tendency to depression. Fortunately, it was discovered in time. However, from the examination report, the child is in a process of self-consciousness tug-of-war. He has a spiritual pillar that helps him fight this negative emotion."

Mr. Li didn't understand all of this, he only remembered what the doctor said, that he didn't need to take any medicine for the time being, and that he needed to give his child more positive feedback, encouragement, companionship and guidance.

Create a relaxed and comfortable environment for him. As long as the child can feel it and is willing to express his feelings, the situation probably won't develop into a serious state.

It just takes time to heal slowly.

Old Li thought, this marriage must be divorced!

She was angry and went straight back to her parents' home after leaving school that day.

I heard that on her mother's side, she still stood on the moral high ground, crying to her relatives and friends about what she had sacrificed and paid for her family and children.

"He was busy with work and was gone for many days. For so many years, I was in charge of everything in the family. I also took care of the children's food, clothing, and studies. What did he do? He didn't do anything!"
