Chapter 395 Pure Love, Pure Love
Liu Wangxue finished the rest of the drink in the cup and widened her eyes: "Sister, what's going on? What do you mean you dated your brother-in-law for half a year without knowing it?"
"Are you surprised and amazed?" Tao Huaxin pushed the melon seeds to her, "I think so too."
Liu Wangxue had no appetite anymore and urged her to speak quickly.
When Tao Huaxin was in college, he worked part-time as a cashier in a chain supermarket. Later, a new stock clerk came to the supermarket, a tall and strong young man, who always had an icy face towards everyone and gave off an air of "keep away from strangers".
There was little overlap between the work of stocking and cashiering. Tao Huaxin worked part-time at the time and only worked four hours a day. However, when the supermarket was very busy or other cashiers asked for leave or changed shifts, the supervisor would ask her to work overtime.
She didn't interact much with other people. Occasionally, when she was eating in the break room after working overtime, she would hear people talking about the stock clerk. She knew his name was Qiu Xiangrong. The supermarket was quite big, so she only heard about him and never met him.
There are little girls in the supermarket who like this one. It is said that one of them was brave enough to confess her love to her, and then came back crying, and it became a topic of conversation for everyone when they were bored.
One day, Tao Huaxin got off work early and was leaving the supermarket when she saw the clerk of the cake shop at the door putting a plate of freshly made cream biscuits into the glass cabinet. She was a little greedy at the time, but she usually wouldn't buy one, but then she thought, since she had just received her salary, she might as well buy one to try.
I got it, took a bite and was about to take a second bite when I was bumped by a big guy.
She almost fell down, not to mention the cream-colored baby in her hand, which fell to the ground and was stepped on by a passing child.
The kid obviously did it on purpose, and after stepping on her, he turned around and made a face at her, then ran into the supermarket. But the soles of his shoes were covered with butter, so he slipped while running, and he fell flat on his face, crying.
Tao Huaxin originally wanted to catch him and give him a lesson, but when he saw this, he immediately burst into laughter so much that his stomach hurt.
The big guy who bumped into her took out a tissue from his backpack, wrapped up the squashed cream on the ground, wiped the cream clean, and threw it into the trash can.
Tao Huaxin saw the POLO shirt he was wearing and thought, he is also an employee of this supermarket, could he be the legendary Qiu Xiangrong with an ice face? He also thought this person was really strange, he had a sense of public morality but no manners, he didn't even say sorry when he bumped into someone.
She thought about it and then turned and left. She had to catch the bus so that she could get back to school in time for lunch in the cafeteria.
When she was almost at the bus stop, someone pulled the shoulder strap of her bag. Tao Huaxin was startled and looked back. It was the person who had just bumped into her.
The big man was obviously running after her. He stuffed a bag with the cake shop's logo printed on it into Tao Huaxin's hand and didn't dare look her in the eye. "Sorry, this is compensation for you."
After saying that, he ran away.
Tao Huaxin called out to him but it didn't stop her. Just as she was about to chase him back, the bus came. She hesitated for a moment but still got on.
After lunch, I returned to the dormitory and opened the bag. Inside was a transparent takeaway box with six cream-filled biscuits neatly stacked. My roommates lying on the bed smelled the biscuits and came over to share them one each.
Tao Huaxin ate the remaining one and planned to go to the supermarket after work tomorrow to look for it and return the money to him. If you want compensation, just pay for one, there is no need to buy so many.
The next day, a cashier asked for leave, and her supervisor asked Tao Huaxin to help cover for two hours. Tao Huaxin's first class in the afternoon also had something urgent to do, so she agreed.
After work, she went for a walk inside, but didn't see anyone. Just as she was about to leave, she heard someone calling "Qiu Xiangrong". She followed the voice and actually saw the person.
Qiu Xiangrong was standing on a ladder helping an older female colleague get a box from the top shelf. Tao Huaxin stood by and waited for them to finish.
Because of the girl's confession, the elder sister thought that Tao Huaxin was also here to confess. She put the box at her feet and very considerately made room for them: "I'm a little thirsty, I'm going to drink some water first. Xiao Qiu, can you help me take down the two boxes on top later?"
Qiu Xiangrong stood on the ladder and looked at Tao Huaxin with an expressionless face.
Tao Huaxin said: "You come down first."
Qiu Xiangrong came down holding the ladder.
Tao Huaxin took two steps forward and stood in front of him, took out a banknote from his pocket and handed it to him: "Here's to you."
Qiu Xiangrong didn't answer and asked her, "What else?"
Tao Huaxin felt that there was nothing much to say, just as he stuffed the creamy little bean into her arms yesterday, she grabbed his hand and put the banknote in his palm: "The money for the other five creamy little bean is enough for you to pay me back one."
She gave him the money without even looking up at him, and then turned and left.
This was the second impression Qiu Xiangrong left on Tao Huaxin, large but particularly rough hands.
After this incident, Tao Huaxin found that she saw Qiu Xiangrong more often. He would always come to her to pay for small items when she was working part-time, sometimes a bottle of water, sometimes a bag of snacks, or a pen, or some discounted fruits and vegetables.
Occasionally he would say something to Tao Huaxin, like "There's a promotion over there for daily necessities", "You're working overtime today", or "It may rain outside, do you have an umbrella?", but most of the time he was silent.
One Sunday, Tao Huaxin took the bus to the bookstore after work. She studied accounting and it was almost the end of the semester, so she planned to buy a book of exercises to do.
After choosing the book, I just browsed around and then I met Qiu Xiangrong who was standing by the bookshelf reading a book.
Tao Huaxin went over to greet him and said, "You are taking a day off today. I was wondering why I didn't see you."
Qiu Xiangrong closed the book in his hand and put it back on the bookshelf. Seeing the book in her hand, he said, "Well, you come to buy books?"
Tao Huaxin nodded and noticed that he was reading a historical novel.
The two chatted back and forth like this, and in just a few minutes, they said more than they had said before combined.
Later, the two gradually became familiar with each other. Qiu Xiangrong would still buy some small things for her when she worked part-time, such as snacks and drinks, and give them directly to her after she paid the bill.
Gossip spreads very quickly in places where there are many idle people. Before long, Tao Huaxin became a topic of conversation on par with Qiu Xiangrong.
Tao Huaxin's school allows students to stay on campus during the summer vacation, but she rarely goes home because of this part-time job.
Qiu Xiangrong would ask her out on his weekends, and the place they would go most often was the bookstore, where they could enjoy the air conditioning and read books at the same time, killing two birds with one stone.
On the first day of the new semester, Qiu Xiangrong went to the school to find her, carrying a box of braised food and a pink balloon. When he saw her, he smiled shyly and was a little nervous, and handed the balloon to her first: "Here you go."
