If there's one person he'd miss the most at Monaco, it would undoubtedly be Reming, with whom he only worked for half a season.
The two felt inexplicably compatible when they were together. Under Lei Ming's guidance, he completed the process of transforming from a boy into a man. Now, he has surpassed his teacher and has changed several girlfriends. Not long ago, he broke up with the transvestite and found a more mature and charming woman.
Lei Ming always says that he knows how good Auntie is at such a young age, which has already surpassed him by a lot.
The call was quickly connected, but it sounded very noisy on the other end, which made Mbappe frown.
"Hey Rege, are you on vacation somewhere? Why is the background so noisy? I have some news for you, I might be going to PSG next season."
"Hehe, I saw this news five minutes ago. What else could it be? He didn't go on vacation; he's in the hospital."
"The hospital? What happened?"
“I’m fine. It was my adoptive mother who had an accident. I’m here to be with her on her final journey.”
The final journey?
Mbappe instantly realized that his brother seemed to have encountered the most distressing thing at that moment.
"Oh, please accept my condolences. Give me your address, I'd like to go and pay my respects to her."
After hanging up the phone, Mbappe quickly received the address from Lei Ming. Without any hesitation, he immediately booked a flight to Portugal for himself.
"Kilian, where are you going?"
His parents were puzzled. He said he wanted to go back to his room to calm down, but he came out looking like he was fully armed and ready to go out.
"Mom and Dad, Lei Ming's adoptive mother had an accident. I'm going to see her off. Don't worry about me, I'll be back soon."
After saying goodbye to his parents, Mbappe headed to the international airport alone.
On the other side, Lei Ming stroked Mrs. Merri, who was on her last breath, with tears welling up in his eyes.
"Madam, you are so foolish! Money is just an external thing, but you only have one life. Why are you insisting on this?"
"It's all my fault. I should have thought about the security issues there earlier. It would be great if I could provide you with a few bodyguards."
Mrs. Merri’s cloudy eyes reflected Lei Ming’s face. Although he was on an oxygen tube, he showed no signs of pain. Instead, he reached out with a slight smile, wanting to touch Lei Ming’s cheek one last time.
Listening to Lei Ming's self-reproach, she used her last strength to shake her head, and then passed away peacefully.
The room was filled with the buzzing of a heart machine and the sound of thunderous crying.
At that moment, he held Mrs. Merri in his arms on the sickbed and cried like a child, as past scenes played slowly in his mind like a slideshow.
Outside the ward, Paul felt equally distressed listening to the crying.
He didn't know where the reporters in front of him had gotten the information they wanted to get in to interview Lei Ming, but given the situation, he naturally couldn't let them in.
At this moment, he knew very well that all Lei Ming needed was silence.
He didn't want to be disturbed by anyone.
Paul also seemed very remorseful for failing to protect Mrs. Merri.
He personally arranged for the renovation of the old orphanage building, but he genuinely forgot to consider the local security situation, which gave criminals an opportunity to take advantage of the situation.
Mrs. Merri must have argued with the robber during the robbery, and was accidentally pushed down by the robber, causing her heart attack to relapse. If it weren't for the neighbor calling the police in time, Lei Ming might not have been able to see her one last time.
Fortunately, the local police took the case very seriously and quickly apprehended these ruthless individuals that same evening.
Soon after, Raymond and Paul carried Mrs. Merri's urn home together, and two days later, he would hold a simple sea burial ceremony for her.
This was Mrs. Merri's dying wish, and Lei Ming would naturally comply.
When they got home, they found that the house was still in a mess, and the luxurious house was empty. The children who used to be there had been taken away by other orphanages with the help of the police.
After eating something simple, the two began tidying up the house.
While tidying up his wife's bedroom, Lei Ming suddenly discovered some photos and diaries left behind by his wife.
Most of the photos are group photos of her with the adopted children, recording her quiet dedication over the years.
And among these, there are more photos of him than anyone else.
After opening the diary, his eyes welled up with tears again.
"I was very lucky to meet an Asian child at the door today. He is very cute, like a porcelain doll. I have decided to adopt him."
"Although his swaddling clothes bore the name Lei Ming from China, I gave him a new name: Jonas Lei Ming."
"Little Leiming is so cute, I like him very much, he must be the best gift God has given me."
"Little Leiming is one year old. According to the customs of the Eastern Hua Kingdom, it seems that a 'grasping ceremony' should be held for him. Although I don't understand these things, the almighty Internet still taught me how to arrange the ceremony."
"I was quite surprised that he chose an Arsenal jersey."
“He has been discriminated against by the other children because of his skin color, but that’s okay. I love him and I will guide him to become the best child.”
“I’m so happy. Little Lei Ming has grown up. I heard he’s been selected for the football team. He’s starting to show his extraordinary talent. I love watching him play. It’s like watching Cruz play for Arsenal back in the day.”
...
"My little Rummenigge is excellent. He has become a key player for Monaco. I am proud of him. Cruz, do you see? This is a gift from God. It would be even better if he could wear the same jersey as you."
