Chapter 203: You Will Never Marry Someone Else
There is a dressing room inside the dressing room, and next door is a nap room reserved for the main characters. There are bunk beds, the upper one belongs to Cui Manli, and the lower one belongs to He Sang. Cui Manli basically never slept in it.
At this moment, colleagues were crowded in the outer room to eat and drink. Liang Jishen always liked quietness, so He Sang took him into the inner room.
"Bend over and use a pillow."
The bed was narrow, and Liang Jishen sat on the lower bunk with his head resting on the upper bunk. He Sang stuffed it with a soft pink pillow. He had handsome features, the standard tough guy lines, and a darker skin tone, and the pink color made him look inexplicably funny.
He Sang laughed uncontrollably.
The man glanced at her and asked, "What are you laughing at?"
She brushed his hair with her hand, "Laughing at you sulking with a pink pillow on your head."
"I've spoiled you."
At the beginning of their relationship, she was submissive, willing to make concessions and endure minor grievances. Liang Jishen was a bit chauvinistic; his status, temper, and family background had shaped his pride.
He Sang was willing to go along with him, and once she softened, Liang Jishen also understood the principle of "reciprocity" and accepted her weakness and compensated her materially.
Now that he has promised to marry her in a formal relationship, she begins to reveal her "true colors" and becomes more stubborn and no longer soft-hearted.
"Is the food at the celebration banquet delicious?" Liang Jishen asked in a serious tone.
"tasty."
His brow furrowed, "How delicious is it?"
He Sang picked up a piece of bamboo shoot and fed it to him, "Of course the dish ordered by Mr. Liang is delicious."
He thought it was because the celebratory banquet Liang Chihui had invited was delicious. After she explained, the atmosphere eased a little, "Calling you Mr. Liang again? You owe me that."
The man stood up and opened the door. "Cheng Xun, documents."
Cheng Xun handed over a stack of contracts, and Liang Jishen leaned against the bed railing to give instructions.
"Don't you like bamboo shoots?" He Sang didn't move his hand away, but kept it raised in the air.
The man flipped through the documents carefully and said, "I'm not hungry."
She understood that her female colleague had touched his heart and hurt his face.
All men are afraid of "invisible cuckold", let alone Liang Jishen, who is too embarrassed to save face in public.
When suspicions arise between couples, rumors can be just as damaging, not just from the actual facts. Especially when gossip from colleagues, classmates, and neighbors can have a far-reaching impact.
"You know my second brother. He likes to joke and tease. The other day, Hu Dafa's wife scolded him for meddling in other people's business, and to help me out, he used the excuse that I was his sister-in-law and that he was treating his colleagues to dinner to silence them. In this circle, as long as there's a man and a woman, no matter what their relationship is, it's assumed to be a relationship between a man and a woman."
Liang Jishen's expression finally showed some emotion. "You call him Second Brother?"
He Sang nodded.
"Will Liang Chihui agree?"
She pursed her lips and said, "No... He said he would call after registering."
Liang Jishen closed the document silently. The chandelier on the ceiling was too bright, it hurt his pupils and he became alert unconsciously.
"Do you have the household registration booklet?"
"exist."
His brows were furrowed, never relaxing. "I'm going on a business trip tomorrow morning and will be back the day after tomorrow. I'll get the certificate first."
He Sang counted the days and said, "The chairman's seventh day is the day after tomorrow. It's only one day anyway. Wouldn't it be good for your reputation in advance?"
When Liang Jishen gets married, the Liang family will make it public.
The first public channel was the Liang Group's public relations department, which issued a statement that the third son was married; the second was the China Overseas Group's secretariat, which responded to colleagues' wedding congratulations after Liang's announcement.
The old chairman was a powerful figure in the business world, Liang Jishen's direct superior. He had taken over the top job, and out of respect for his junior, he postponed the wedding. It had already been four or five days, so there was no need to give people a reason to talk at the last minute.
"Are you afraid that I won't marry you?"
She stood there, Liang Jishen raised his head slightly and looked at her, "Will it?"
"If you stop being angry, I'll marry you."
There were no windows for ventilation in the lounge. He Sang's earlobes and nose tip were red with heat, and fine beads of sweat oozed out of them, making her look as delicate as white snow and red plum blossoms.
Liang Jishen had calmed down. He was angry with himself, not blaming her.
He was not present when Mrs. Hu caused trouble. If Liang Chihui did not take action, He Sang would definitely suffer. He cared more about her safety.
Liang Chihui was wrong for not being tactful enough. She shouldn't have been so ambiguous as to entertain her theater colleagues under the guise of "affairs".
He laughed, "I'm not mad at you."
He Sang hugged him and said, "Then I will marry you."
"You dare not marry me?" Liang Jishen pinched her chin, "If you don't marry me, I will make sure you never marry anyone else."
She struggled to get away, "You're so domineering."
The man's big hand covered her again, "I don't want to be an old maid until I'm fifty, so I have to get married even if I don't want to."
After get off work, He Sang pestered Liang Jishen to go to the cinema to watch a newly released comedy.
He doesn't like movies and would rather go shopping with her. Li Zhen said that the scene where the woman is shopping and the man is swiping his card is the most charming and the man is the coolest.
He Sang didn't have much of a desire to shop, but it was really cool that Liang Jishen paid the bill.
No woman can resist the seven-figure jewelry without blinking an eye, just swipe the card, sign the bill and pick up the goods.
But watching the movie was quite torturous for him, so He Sang left halfway through.
Back at the old house, Sister Fang told He Sang to vacate the guest room.
Liang Jing lived in a large compound in the city, in Taining District, known locally as the "Senior Cadre District." It was small, only one-tenth the size of other districts, and housed a military training ground, a public security hospital, a military art school, and office buildings. The dormitories ranged from single-family houses to apartments. Liang Jing was allocated an 89-square-meter, three-bedroom, one-living-room unit.
Old Zhang arranged a 40-year-old female nanny from Shaanxi who was good at making noodles. Liang Jing loved noodles and asked her to be responsible for his daily life, but he refused. Instead, he hired an old lady in her 60s who had a local partner. He was avoiding suspicion in every aspect.
Old Zhang laughed so hard that he almost choked, and he and Old Jiang joked about Liang Jing. The female nanny was a widow with a daughter and had an ordinary appearance, so Liang Jing kept his distance from her.
Chiang Kai-shek understood very well. Liang Jing was 37 years old and the female nanny was 40 years old, they were of similar age. The key point was that the female nanny was single. Liang Jing was right to handle the matter with caution.
Liang Jishen changed into a set of home clothes and asked He Sang at the bathroom door, "Where do you live?"
"Live in the north bedroom."
He tried to smile, "Not staying in the guest room anymore?"
He Sang pushed him away with a stern face, went into the house and took off his coat.
It was really embarrassing to be face to face with Liang Jing in her pajamas last night. She was only focused on escaping, and threw the charging cable and underwear on the bay window of the guest room. She forgot to clean them up during the day. Now there was a velvet box, as if it was deliberately hidden, hidden under the coiled charging cable.
I'm sure she'll find out.
He Sang turned his head and asked, "Sister Fang, have you and Sister Rong been to the guest room?"
"I cleaned it this morning." Sister Fang opened the door. "Is it not clean enough?"
"It's clean." She hesitated for a second. "Did Secretary Liang leave while you were cleaning?"
"Leave."
It wasn't something they had left behind, it was something left for her.
She walked over and carefully opened the lid of the box. There was a black lace hairpin with a top-quality Australian white pearl in the center. It was not set tightly, and it was obvious that it was made in a hurry.
He Sang opened the drawer and took out the hairpin he had fished out of the fish pond. It was similar in size and shape to the hairpin in the box.
