Chapter 228 A Big Rat Weighing Over 90 Pounds
"You don't know?" Liang Yanzhang sneered, "Then I'll tell you, Mrs. Zhao is working for me."
Liang Chihui's face was calm, "I really don't know."
"Last year, Third Brother secretly investigated Guanghe Group for He Sang's sake. I hinted at him, telling him not to investigate further, but he stayed quiet for six months. Then, in February, he took a position at Zhonghai Group. He's now more confident and in a higher position than I am, so he's restarted the investigation." Liang Yanzhang sat down, his brows raised with pride. "He's already so busy with his own affairs, how can he possibly investigate further?"
"So it was you who taught the third brother a lesson."
"Teach him a lesson." Liang Yanzhang leaned back in his chair. "Curb his cleverness. A son should not fight with his father."
"The third brother is not smart. I have experienced his methods. If he knew that you were making trouble behind his back." Liang Chihui didn't say anything else.
"He stopped when he had enough, and I stopped too. Father and son don't hold grudges overnight. He was just too unruly."
Liang Chihui stood still.
After a long stalemate, Liang Yanzhang grew impatient. "You and I are both father and son. I am closer to you than to the third brother because we are on the same boat. In the end, you will inherit the Liang Group."
Liang Chihui smiled, but the smile still didn't reach his eyes. "Yes."
Coming out of the study, he walked towards Yao Wenji who was waiting in the corner, "Mother."
"Who ordered Mrs. Zhao to do this?"
"Not me."
Yao Wenji stared at him, "Chi Hui, the Third Brother has always been polite to me in the old house. He has no grudge against us mother and son. Every grievance has its perpetrator. Liang Jing and the Third Brother don't mess with you, so don't mess with them either. As for Ji Xilan bullying you when you were young, I will settle that account with her personally, and the Third Brother can't stop me."
Liang Chihui said respectfully, "I'll remember that."
He did not stay overnight and told the driver to drive back to Bixi Mansion. However, he changed his mind on the way and drove towards the provincial highway.
......
When He Sang woke up in the morning, Liang Jishen was not in the bedroom.
The babysitter said he went fishing at the lake.
There is an artificial lake behind the Qiu family's manor. It was originally an abandoned earth pit. Mr. Qiu bought the land at a low price and raised a pond of pebble corals and small fish. In his spare time, he would go fishing, collect folk songs, wash the corals, and keep the pond lush and tidy.
He Sang rode the nanny's bicycle to pick up the express package and headed straight for the artificial lake.
Stopping at the end of the asphalt road, she saw two huge tents set up by the lake, one blue and one yellow. Liang Jishen was wearing a white long-sleeved casual suit with a sports jacket on the outside, and had bait hanging on the fishhook.
"Xiao He, can't you sleep well by yourself if Mr. Liang doesn't sleep with you?" Mrs. Qiu walked out of the tent on the left and shouted, startling Liang Jishen on the shore.
He turned his head and asked, "Have you had breakfast?"
"I drank milk."
Liang Jishen called her, "Come here, I'll teach you how to fish."
She went to the tent to get a bottle of mineral water and walked behind the man. "I'm stupid, you can't teach me."
"Is there anyone who admits they're stupid?" He held her hand, holding it in his arms, and lowered his voice, "Mrs. Qiu knows it."
"Mrs. Qiu! He laughed at you—"
Liang Jishen covered He Sang's mouth and bit her earlobe. His laughter, mixed with hot breath, blew into her cochlea, and she shrank her neck in numbness.
"Xiao He, Mr. Liang said you like braised fish eyes?"
"I don't like it." She held the fishing rod and skipped the fish back and forth on the lake. "He made me eat it."
"Eat what you need to nourish your body, and your eyes will be beautiful." Liang Jishen looked at her with a smile, "Hook me."
Mrs. Qiu pushed Mr. Qiu and said, "Don't you think I'm unattractive? I'll eat fish eyes to seduce you."
He Sang abandoned his fishing rod, and Liang Jishen began to focus on fishing. "There's a big and a small crucian carp in the bucket. Sweet and sour fish for lunch?"
"I'll go back at noon and contact the agent to sell the house." She leaned on Liang Jishen's shoulder, "And I've given up sugar."
"Oh, I've given up sugar." Liang Jishen said seriously, "Mrs. Qiu, there are mice in the manor. Find a way to catch them."
"There's a mouse?" Mrs. Qiu was afraid of that thing. "Where did you see it?"
"Guest bedroom."
"Old Qiu, there's a rat in Mr. Liang's room!"
Mr. Qiu was surprised. "How big is it?"
Liang Jishen replied nonchalantly, "A rat weighing over ninety kilograms."
Mrs. Qiu was startled and laughed, "Mr. Liang teases Xiao He every day, but Xiao He is good-tempered and won't get angry with you."
He Sang was about to leave, but he stopped her and said, "Since you didn't eat it, it must be Haozi who stole half a pound of grapes last night."
Before he finished speaking, Liang Jishen suddenly exerted force on his wrist and looked at the rippling water surface. "The fish has taken the bait. Raise your arm."
She was in a panic, lifting all four limbs together, and almost lying on her back in his arms.
Liang Chihui got out of the car at this moment. Not far away, he heard a girl's clear and sweet voice like a wind chime. He stopped and watched.
“What a big fish!”
He Sang pulled the rod hard, and it flew into the air. It was a fat, golden-red fish with a long tail. Liang Jishen dropped it into the bucket and pointed it out to her, "It's a koi."
"So fat." She was delighted, touching the bulging gills of the fish.
Liang Jishen lowered his eyes. In the warm sunshine, the breeze ruffled her hair, brushed across the bridge of his nose, and vaguely brushed across his heart.
He leaned over and kissed the top of her head, "Steam it and eat it."
"No way..." He Sang refused. "Keep it in a glass tank and give it a nickname... Xiao Ji, the Ji in the middle of your name."
She carried the bucket, and the fish were very lively, thrashing at the bottom of the bucket, splashing water on her face. She closed her eyes and said, "Fishy!"
Liang Jishen laughed and said, "Put it down."
As He Sang let go, the bucket fell to the ground with a clang and fell to the ground on the lawn. Clear water gurgled out, soaking her shoes and socks. Liang Jishen picked her up horizontally, put her on a chair outside the tent, and bent down to pick up the fish.
Four fish swam back into the lake, leaving only two. Mr. Qiu clapped his hands happily, "Thank goodness you stirred it up. I had three in my bucket, and Mr. Liang had two. He lost me one hundred thousand."
Mr. Qiu put away his fishing rod and said, "Xiao He, I'll give you 50,000."
He Sang suddenly remembered the 500,000 yuan she had given to Manager Cui. She reached out to Liang Jishen and said, "Pay me back."
"What money?"
"It's the money I saved from working to pay for the spies."
Liang Jishen chuckled, "My expenses have been high lately, so I'll owe you the money for now." The wind was strong by the lake. He took off his coat and draped it over He Sang's back. "I'll definitely pay you back when I have more money."
Mrs. Qiu teased him, "Mr. Liang has never owed a woman money in his life, right?"
He recalled carefully, "I really didn't owe any."
He Sang covered her forehead with her hands to block the sunlight, and a cool shadow fell silently from behind, covering her.
She noticed it and turned her head immediately.
