Chapter 244 She Has Her Strengths
She pulled it back in time, but left behind a breeze.
Soft and cool, like jasmine petals soaked in dew.
The touch felt like an electric shock, and Liang Chihui froze.
He maintained this posture, motionless.
I don’t know what he is thinking.
After a long while, he stroked the keychain with his fingertips, vaguely feeling her warmth, and asked, "Where did I drop my key?"
"In the blanket at the end of the bed."
The man smiled and raised his head, his voice deep and powerful, "The blanket has long fur and is black, so you can't see it unless you look carefully."
He Sang was backlit, and her entire figure was too dim. Liang Chihui adjusted the angle, and her sight became clearer. "My sister-in-law is so thoughtful."
He addressed Miss He by her full name, but he never addressed her sister-in-law to her face.
Liang Chihui never acknowledged the relationship because they had not obtained a marriage certificate.
Occasionally, she would say something, either to show that there was an outsider present and to show respect for her and to elevate her status; or she would say it as a joke.
In traditional aristocratic families, status depends on obtaining a marriage certificate and having children, neither of which can be missing.
No matter how solemnly Liang Jishen introduced her, cared for her, and even got her married, her status was still unstable and informal in the eyes of outsiders when she was not pregnant.
Therefore, those rich wives don’t take their husbands’ mistresses seriously at all. Even if they are deeply in love with them and cannot bear to part with them, they are still insignificant little characters. They will only take action if their husbands’ mistresses become pregnant and they have bargaining chips to divide the property.
"Brother, I have a handkerchief. I used it to bandage my sprained ankle the other day, and I haven't returned it to you yet."
"It's just a handkerchief, not worth much. You can handle it yourself."
He Sang was very stubborn, "I washed it clean and will return it to you when I have the chance."
Liang Chihui stood in the deep sunlight, looking at her.
"good."
After leaving the old house, he drove back to Yunhai Building.
The streets were quiet in the afternoon, and the wide asphalt road was filled with the scent of vanilla. Liang Chihui held the steering wheel with one hand and pressed his fist to his lips with the other.
Distracted driving.
Passing Huaxi Road, he dialed a number.
"Uncle Zheng, where's Doctor Zhu?"
Dr. Zhu was the old house's personal doctor. He had worked there for more than 20 years but was suddenly fired by Liang Yanzhang.
"Back home."
Liang Chihui stared at the road ahead, "Is there something wrong at home?"
"He opened a clinic in the local area. Dr. Zhu's two children, both studying medicine, refused to work for the hospital. Dr. Zhu turned to Mr. Liang for help, and Mr. Liang had connections."
"Got it." He hung up.
Three days into the new doctor's tenure, Liang Yanzhang fell ill, and Liang Chihui felt something was amiss.
I can't figure out exactly where the problem is.
......
The car arrived at Yunhai Tower at five in the evening.
Liang Chihui went straight to the office.
Without turning on the lights, he sat in the dimness.
The word "sister-in-law" he said at the old house was purely a test.
Something is wrong with He Sang today.
He was always the one who took the initiative, while she was passive, measured, and spoke little.
The old house clearly had servants, drivers, and bodyguards serving her everywhere. Even if she was too lazy to eat, the servants would feed her. There was really no need for her to pick up the food or deliver it herself.
Besides, she usually felt a little uncomfortable facing him.
Her normal reaction was that she wouldn't even have time to hide from him.
Liang Chihui rested his head on the back of the chair, his head tilted high, his neck straight, and his Adam's apple became more prominent.
Ni Hong pushed the door open, and he just opened his collar. His crisp clothes were torn askew and wrapped around his body. At this moment, he looked relaxed and unrestrained, with a dissolute masculinity.
There is a pot of orchid hanging above Liang Chihui's desk. He doesn't like to raise flowers, plants, fish or birds, as he doesn't have the time. Instead, he likes to play with hunting dogs and raise falcons in his suburban garden. He likes to watch them hunt and fight.
This pot of orchid was specially planted by him to cultivate his character. He had just raised it in the past two days and bought it from a garden museum at a high price. It was a ready-made famous orchid and was very delicate.
He came up with a rather elegant name, Sang.
Raised in a greenhouse, suitable for home, gentle and chaste.
"You're here so early?" Ni Hong closed the door. "I was shopping during the day and picked up a gift."
Liang Chihui wasn't interested, "I won't use it."
"It's a tie." She was unhappy. "You don't wear a tie?"
He sat up straight and put out his cigarette in the ashtray. "I bought it last month."
"Women have good taste. I bought you something that suits you." She opened the package. "It has dark blue stripes. The pretty boy with the most popular business at the Lakeside Club looks very handsome in this color."
"Gioco?"
"What's wrong with the pretty boy?" Ni Hong walked around the desk. "Isn't he better than the black-faced one?"
"The third one is black." Liang Chihui lit another cigarette, "Is the pretty boy better than him?"
Ni Hong was stunned. "He...he got it from the sun, so it doesn't count."
She lifted Liang Chihui's collar and noticed out of the corner of her eye that the cigarette butts in the ashtray were about to overflow. "You might as well not quit smoking. The more you try to quit, the more you smoke. Repeated smoking will only cause more harm."
The man blocked her hand and said, "I can do it myself."
Ni Hong hated this about him the most. No matter how long they had known each other or how familiar they were, he always seemed out of reach.
He was not trying to keep her in suspense or use tricks to seduce her into falling in love with him but unable to get him, and keep her obsessed with him.
Liang Chihui is really cold and distant.
The female employees of Yunhai Building who had been "in a good relationship" with him gathered in the dressing room to complain that he had wasted his reputation as a playboy and his good looks.
In fact, they were too defensive to get close.
Ni Hong was angry and insisted on putting it on herself, "I helped you change your clothes, did you forget?"
He chuckled, "The time I was drunk?"
"You went to a social event with a cold, and your whole body was burning hot. I used a wet towel to wipe you down and stripped down to your underwear."
Liang Chihui's smile faded a little.
Ni Hong thought of that night, in the lounge inside this office, he was wearing a gray shirt. Every time he unbuttoned a button, his hard chest scraped against her fingers, and every bulge with his breathing was deeply imprinted in her palms.
At that moment, Liang Chihui's expanding tension and lust burned like a raging fire.
Burned everyone.
Only he, the instigator, remained intact.
Ni Hong struggled in the world of fame and fortune and met countless men. Liang Chihui was the most deadly and unforgettable.
Because he cannot be conquered, he is so bad that he is a mystery.
"You don't have to do these things anymore." Liang Chihui flicked off half of his cigarette ash. "It's inconvenient."
"The man is unmarried and the woman is unmarried. You don't have a woman and I don't have a man. What's the inconvenience?"
"Perhaps it's really inconvenient." He smiled slightly, "A powerful enemy wants to settle a score with me."
Ni Hong sneered disdainfully, "Who dares to compete with you?"
Liang Chihui held a cigarette in his mouth, pointed the lighter cap at the edge of the lampshade, and flicked it. The light came on brightly in an instant.
"I have my strengths, and she naturally has hers."
