Chapter 317: Falling out
Ni Hong went upstairs. The office door was closed and the only sound in the corridor was the echo of high heels.
There were few customers at Yunhai Tower during the day, but as night fell, seats began to fill up. She didn't think much about it and pushed open the door.
A wave of oppressive and gloomy feeling came over me.
The lights were not on and the curtains were drawn. Liang Chihui leaned back in his chair, set up a Go board, and played against himself.
The game was two-thirds over, and she had been waiting for at least half an hour.
Ni Hong looked around and saw eight bodyguards standing on the left and right, wearing black clothes, white gloves, square-framed sunglasses, and looking murderous.
There were dozens of bodyguards stationed in the venue, but they were never used. Yunhailou was a top-notch upper-class place, and the patrons were prominent and well-connected, and they cared about their reputation. It was unlike the mixed bars and nightclubs, where there were always drunk men or men fighting and cursing each other while trying to steal beautiful women.
Therefore, bodyguards are also called "internal professional thugs" who specialize in punishing male employees.
Anyone who steals cigarettes and alcohol to sell them in the second-hand market, or who touches female employees, will be severely beaten.
Yunhai Building has strict rules and Liang Chihui is iron-fisted and sharp, and the employees are afraid of him, so everything has been safe so far.
The only disturbance was when the boss of Nanyang District broke into the place to intimidate Liang Chihui. Sixteen bodyguards were dispatched that day, and the two groups confronted each other in the back alley, causing quite a stir.
After many years, this intimidating scene reappeared, and Ni Hong felt a sinking feeling in her heart.
In Yunhai Tower, it is not necessarily a big occasion to dispatch so many bodyguards. The other party has a high prestige, and Liang Chihui attaches great importance to him, so he also sends out a large number of people.
"Did you run into a tough guy?" Ni Hong put on her badge. "Or do you have a social engagement?"
"It's just a social event." Liang Chihui held a black piece and searched on the chessboard. "I'm free in the morning and will return to the group at noon."
"Social gathering tonight?"
"Um."
Although his attitude was perfunctory, Ni Hong finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Are you coming from the old house?"
Liang Chihui put down the chess piece and picked up another white piece, "What else?"
"It's a long journey, have you had breakfast?"
"I had some porridge in the car." He looked up, his joke revealing his seriousness. "Where are you from?"
"I live in North River Bay, have you forgotten?"
"Did you sleep well last night?"
Liang Chihui's sudden concern did not make Ni Hong happy. Instead, she felt a chill down her spine. "I slept well. How about you?"
"I slept well." Bai Zi's move was victorious, and he contentedly cleared the chessboard. "But I think you didn't sleep well because you felt guilty, yet you were comforting yourself. There were twelve actresses in the big room. The actress might be jealous of He Sang, and the actor might covet her. She happened to drink a glass of unclean wine, and once the drug took effect, she would accept anyone who came. You were looking forward to that scene."
It was as if a strong electric current struck Ni Hong, and her eyes flashed and finally turned into a blank. She froze in place.
The light in the office was too dim, and Liang Chihui's face was obscured. "Ali."
The bodyguard, named Ali, placed twelve glasses on the table. "After the boss took Miss He away, the colleagues in the main private room didn't leave and started drinking again. At this time, I received a notice from the boss to seal the glasses in the private room. I counted them and found one glass missing. It happened to be Miss He's glass. So I urgently checked the surveillance footage and found the glass in the trash can in the food preparation room. It was Miss Cancan who threw it away."
Ali clapped his hands, and two bodyguards escorted Cancan in. Cancan's cheek was swollen and there was blood at the corner of her mouth. Seeing Ni Hong, she cried for help, "Cousin! I didn't mean to betray you... I dare not not confess... It was you who told me to dispose of the cup used by Miss He..."
"So what if it's handled?" Ni Hong looked at Liang Chihui with sorrow and resentment. Her bright red lips and watery pupils could not touch his heart at all.
"Cleaning the private room is the waiter's job. Miss He has already left, so I asked Cancan to clean it up. Is that against the rules? Do you suspect I drugged you?"
Liang Chihui pressed the remote control without saying a word, the curtains opened, and sunlight seeped in from all directions like a tide. Only then did Ni Hong discover that male PR No. 3 was crawling on the ground. His work clothes were the same color as the carpet. She only paid attention to the bodyguards and did not notice the kneeling person.
"What are you doing here?" she asked in confusion.
The male PR ignored her and kowtowed in fear, "It was President Ni who ordered me..." He was hesitant to speak, his heart pounding.
Before the boss arrived at the private room, a young girl invited him. When he went there, Miss He was lying on the sofa in the dark place where the light could not reach. Her eyes were open and her face was flushed.
The little girl ordered him to touch Miss He's feet and shoulders, but he refused. Miss He asked him if he wanted to get rich and make a name for himself in Yunhai Tower. He should do whatever she told him to do, and she would ensure that he would escape unscathed and become successful.
After careful consideration, he decided to betray Ni Hong.
After all, Ni Hong works for the boss and is just a senior employee.
Miss He is the boss's wife, declared by the boss himself. If you don't obey her or offend her, losing your job is a small trouble, but being banned is a big trouble.
The powerful and wealthy crushed him like an ant.
Liang Chihui lit a Yellow Crane Tower cigarette and said calmly, "What did Mr. Ni order you to do?"
"Serve Miss He well in the big private room..."
"How do I serve you?" He flicked off the ash from his cigarette.
"I bullied Miss He and recorded a video... and sent it anonymously to the Liang Group's partner email address and your mother. President Ni is promoting me to team leader next month." The male PR crawled to the desk and grabbed Liang Chihui's trousers from under it. "Boss... I swear I didn't touch Miss He! Her colleagues testified that there was a girl who was not drunk! I repented in time and realized my mistake."
Liang Chihui didn't look at him, but only looked at Ni Hong.
"What nonsense are you talking about... Who bribed you?" Ni Hong angrily beat up the male PR, but was stopped by Ali on the spot.
"I don't!"
Liang Chihui blew out a puff of smoke, turned his chair with an indifferent expression, and turned his back to Ni Hong, "Take him away."
Ali was confused, "Boss, where are you taking it?"
"Dungeon."
Those two cold, ruthless words sent shockwaves through Ni Hong's chest. She felt numb from head to toe, numb to the point of losing consciousness. Her internal organs twisted into a ball, squeezing her blood vessels. She could barely breathe. "Dungeon... You locked me up in a dungeon?"
The man didn't look back.
His broad, straight back was hidden in the light and shadow, with thin, neat stubble and a strong, white neck with protruding veins.
Ni Hong was familiar with every inch of him, yet at this moment, he seemed so unfamiliar to her.
"Chi Hui..." Ni Hong panicked. She knew exactly what a dungeon was like. There was no beating or scolding, no hunger or thirst, no trace of scars, no abuse or persecution. They were just locked up inside, with no windows, no internet, no snakes, insects, rats or ants. There was even no distinction between day and night. After eating, they slept on the floor. It was always pitch black and dead silent.
The psychological torture and mental destruction drove a strong man crazy.
"I've been with you for ten years... ten years!" she screamed hysterically. "Why would you trust an outsider and not me? You don't even know the name of this male PR. He's clearly been bribed and is framing me!"
"Boss!" the male PR also shouted at the top of his lungs, "The salary at Yunhai Building is high, I'm not short of money, and besides, Boss Ni is a big shot around you. Everyone, from top to bottom, treats her with respect. Who has the guts to frame her? I'm innocent!"
Come prepared.
All of Ni Hong's arguments came to an abrupt end.
She laughed out loud for a long while, then bent down and stared at the male PR, "I treat you well... If there's any good thing or a generous client, I'll introduce them to you..."
"You also admit that you have good things in mind for him?" Liang Chihui's eyes were so cruel that Ni Hong's heart trembled.
"You've got a great plan to make my mother dislike He Sang and break her and me up, but unfortunately you missed one point." He stood up from his chair and stepped closer. "What my mother thinks of her is of no use to me. My feelings and marriage are my own decisions. Everyone else is bullshit."
