Chapter 358 A Hug from Behind
Liang Chihui had two meetings today, one board meeting regarding semi-annual dividends and a small executive meeting.
The news that Liang Yanzhang was going to emigrate caused a huge uproar within the group. The directors were shrewd people and they all smelled the signs of crisis. If something really happened to Liang, the entire board of directors would suffer. They had reaped huge dividends from the company, and if the dividends were not clean, then everyone would be impure.
After the meeting, they still blocked Liang Chihui to ask for an explanation.
Liang Chihui took great effort to intimidate them.
Assistant Fan came out of the meeting record room next door and reported to him, "The Third Young Master and Zhao Kai went to the southern suburbs."
Liang Chihui concentrated on organizing the documents and said nothing.
Assistant Fan stole a glance at him, terrified. "Ms. He made a call. It was her own phone, and the mansion has the signal record."
"What exactly do you want to say?" Liang Chihui stopped impatiently.
Now it was Assistant Fan's turn to remain silent.
Liang Chihui covered his face with his palms and calmed down, "Who did she call?"
"I interrogated the nanny. Miss He was calling Zeng Mingwei's wife." Assistant Fan played the surveillance recording from the study. "It's 56 seconds long. From the 41st second on, Miss He deliberately lowered her volume, so the monitor didn't pick up any clear content."
Liang Chihui's eyes were dark and deep, like a bottomless abyss.
After a long time, he stood up and said, "Contact them."
Assistant Fan called the short man, who was speeding down the highway, and couldn't wait to answer the call. "Boss! We have nowhere to hide. Will we be wanted?"
"Zhao Kai still doesn't have any solid evidence, both human and physical. A wanted warrant is no joke. The probability of only a single-digit wanted warrant out of a thousand suspects is too high to be easily issued." Liang Chihui calmly unbuttoned his suit and looked in the dressing mirror. "You're not qualified enough."
"Let's ask the old chairman for help." The short man was completely at a loss when he saw Liang Jishen. That was Liang Jishen, who was once the mainstay of the municipal procuratorate. Even in the business world, he was the gatekeeper of the last line of defense for the province's economic and taxation. Anyone who embezzled corporate funds, transferred corporate property, or evaded corporate taxes would be exposed under his sharp eyes.
He is in China Overseas Group, actually supervising all provincial enterprises on behalf of the province.
No one knows their peers better than their peers.
"The old chairman will find a way to place Tong Da and Ni Hong so I can get out of this. It was the old chairman who hired the Tong brothers to attack He Jinping, who was inspecting the project, intending to cripple him. But Tong Da got nervous and lost his hand." The shorter man became more and more frightened the more he thought about it. The car seemed to be drifting, and the tires were practically sending sparks, making his voice tremble. "Now the old chairman has completely disowned him and gone abroad to avoid the limelight. If he successfully immigrates, this mess will be left to us!"
Liang Chihui was indifferent. "Since he has distanced himself from the matter, will your request for help be of any use?"
The short man spoke in a panic, "Don't you have something on the old chairman?"
Assistant Fan saw this and snatched the phone away, scolding the shorter man, "How dare you! Do you think you can find out the boss's background?"
After cursing, cut it off.
"Is Pei Yong my father's spy?" Liang Chihui stared at the mirror and buttoned his clothes one by one.
"Asking you for no reason if you have any evidence is indeed suspicious. Is he trying to find out?" Assistant Fan gasped. "You saved his daughter. There's no reason for him to betray you."
Liang Chihui laughed. "Betrayal is derogatory, while reason is commendatory. Betrayal in this world is inherently irrational and depends on desire and evil thoughts."
Assistant Fan was apprehensive. "The key is that President Ni is still in the southern suburbs... She's willing to jump off a building to get away from us. She's determined to turn against you. If she falls into the hands of the Third Young Master, it will be a disaster."
The man stood in front of the mirror for a long while, "Let's go back to the mansion first."
Walking out of the office, He Yan raised her hand to knock on the door. Liang Chihui, tall and thin, appeared before her, casting a slender dark shadow. Her vision went dark, and her hand froze in the air. "Director Liang... You've been in a meeting, I didn't dare to disturb you. I've already heated up your lunch twice."
Liang Chihui took a look at the lunch box she was holding. It had a pink Winnie the Pooh shape, a transparent plastic lid, a heart-shaped fried egg, and heart-shaped rice. The little girl's attitude was obvious.
"Secretary He, aren't you in the PR department receiving foreign guests?" Assistant Fan interrupted. "According to the Liang Group's rules, employees are not allowed to leave their posts without permission."
He Yan was stunned, "I don't know..."
"It's okay." Liang Chihui took it and opened the lid. "She has only been working for a short time and doesn't know the rules. You should teach her more often."
Assistant Fan was stunned. "Yes."
"Can you tie a tie?" Liang Chihui looked at He Yan.
He Yan didn't expect him to turn the topic to such a private one. She was not his life assistant and had no obligation to be responsible for his life. He was talking about tying a tie with a woman as a man.
"Yes...but it's not very authentic."
Liang Chihui took a royal blue tie with dark patterns from the hanger and asked, "What is authentic?"
He Yan thought, "A popular business tie."
"I don't mind." He held out the tie. "Whatever you can wear."
Assistant Fan was confused.
He Yan tied it pretty well, at least it was more artistic than He Sang's "dead knot".
Her fingertips occasionally brushed across Liang Chihui's Adam's apple. Her nails were trimmed into a round shape, and when they scratched, it didn't hurt or itch. It was a delicate feeling that seemed deliberate, but also unintentional.
"Mr. Liang, the day after tomorrow is my birthday."
"Your birthday?"
He Yan nodded, "My twentieth birthday."
Liang Chihui had a flat expression and just nodded.
He asked Assistant Fan to put the box of "love lunch" prepared by He Yan into his handbag. The bag also contained the red bean and ripe pear cake he bought on his way to work that morning, which was He Sang's favorite dessert.
The two boxes are stacked on top of each other.
It was 3:10 when we returned to Bixi Mansion.
The nanny was feeding the alpacas in the backyard, and the bodyguard was resting in the glass house.
He went straight to the master bedroom on the second floor.
He Sang was standing by the dressing table, changing the makeup light. She was startled when her chest pressed against hers without warning.
In my sight was Liang Chihui's fair and elegant face. The curtains in the bedroom were drawn, and the weak sunlight coming in made him look hazy and handsome.
"Why are you back?" He Sang turned around. "Don't you have work this afternoon?"
