Chapter 374: The more he wanted to conquer
The next morning, He Sang had dinner in the restaurant.
Assistant Fan rushed to the mansion. "The daughter-in-law of the Vice Chairman of Zhongyuan Group is due a month earlier. She had a caesarean section at the General Hospital in the early morning. Director Jiao delivered the baby. The operation was not going well. There are signs of embolism. Miss He's appointment will be postponed."
Liang Chihui put down his teacup and asked, "How long will it take?"
"Next week."
He frowned.
Assistant Fan continued his report, "Director Jiao is going to Beijing for a five-day seminar."
He Sang ate eggs without saying a word.
"We only know Director Jiao in the gynecology department. If we make an appointment with someone else, what if we run into someone we know..." Assistant Fan hesitated. "If Miss He becomes pregnant, aren't you planning to abort the baby quietly?"
Liang Chihui looked towards the dining table. He Sang seemed to have heard nothing. She was well-behaved, docile, and soft. She wore a light pink T-shirt and a white mid-length skirt, like a lotus in clear water.
"Are you afraid of pain?"
She looked up, "Yeah."
"Afraid of needles, right?"
He Sang pursed his lips and asked, "Big needle or small needle?"
Liang Chihui was stunned for a moment, then laughed, "A needle for drawing blood."
She said weakly, "I'm afraid..."
"Take my business card," Liang Chihui instructed Assistant Fan. "Ask Professor Luo Zhili to go to Bingquan Resort to check her pulse."
Luo Zhili is a well-known gynecologist in Hebei Province and even in Beijing. He is a nationally renowned authority on traditional Chinese medicine. He has accurate pulse diagnosis and can distinguish between men and women. He is known as the "fingertip tester."
After breakfast, He Sang followed Liang Chihui to Bingquan Resort.
The resort is located halfway up the mountain. It is a pure wooden building. After crossing a round arched white stone door, you will see a concave pool. The inner wall of the pool is inlaid with a layer of green jade, and the outer wall is marble bricks with carved patterns.
The air was shrouded in mist, cool and comfortable.
He Sang took a look and asked, "What kind of water is that?"
The manager paused. "The spring water, drawn from a mountain stream, is as cool as jade. Over a hundred herbal bags have been laid on the bottom of the pool, making it particularly suitable for women with cold constitutions. Soaking in the icy springs is the ultimate way to cool down during the hottest summer months."
She took another look.
Liang Chihui noticed her curiosity and said, "You have a cold body, and the spring water won't hurt you. Why don't you take a dip?"
"In May and June, the temperature is a constant 27 degrees Celsius. The weather isn't too hot, and the water isn't too cold," the manager explained. "In July and August, the temperature is a constant 24 degrees Celsius. We don't use air conditioning here, so it's naturally cool."
"Can the water temperature be adjusted?"
He Sang wanted to go into the water, so Liang Chihui was extra cautious.
"The mountain water, while crystal clear, is inevitably contaminated by dust and microorganisms," the manager explained. "It's first filtered through a filter to sterilize it before it's pumped into the pool."
Liang Chihui said, "It's going to be hot tomorrow, let's try it at noon." He smiled and asked He Sang, "Want to see the circus?"
"Is there a circus?"
"The resort's most popular attraction is the circus," the manager said, leading the way. "It's at five o'clock every day. Mr. Liang has asked for permission, and we've booked the entire venue. Mrs. Liang can watch it whenever she wants."
He Sang walked through the audience and sat down in the first row. "How much is it for the whole theater?"
"There are 1,008 seats in the venue, including 18 VIP seats, 200 first-class tickets, 400 second-class tickets, and the rest are ordinary tickets, with prices ranging from 1,888 to 388."
She gasped, "Hundreds of thousands."
Liang Chihui asked the manager to turn off the air conditioner and only open the door for ventilation. "As long as you are happy, money doesn't matter."
After the opening, the horse performed a fire ring jump in the center of the venue. The horse trainer led a foal and slipped it into the corridor of the audience seats. The horse trainer was Italian and her Chinese pronunciation was stuttering. She gestured, indicating He Sang to hold the whip and hit the foal's butt.
He Sang refused and touched the foal. It was irritable at first, but slowly calmed down under her touch. It rubbed its head against her skirt, and its fur scratched her, making her feel itchy.
She curled up and covered her mouth with her hands. Liang Chihui thought she was afraid, so he held her in his arms and explained to her, "It feels your kindness."
"Does it have feelings?"
"Everything in the world has its own laws of growth. Survival of the fittest. Similarly, humans and mammals are passionate and emotional."
He Sang smiled, bent down and hugged the foal. The foal did not resist her, half-knelt and half-crouched, neighing gently.
"How old is it?"
The horse trainer held up two fingers.
"Just two years old..."
Liang Chihui was worried that the little pony might suddenly lose her temper and kick He Sang, so he put his arms around her and protected her carefully.
"Does it eat grass?"
"There's less wild grass, and the lawns in big cities are garden lawns, so how can you eat them?" The dean pulled a carrot from his pocket and fed it to the foal. "It eats feed and vegetables, and it's not picky."
The foal chewed with a crunching sound, and He Sang giggled.
Liang Chihui brushed aside a thick strand of her hair that fell on her cheek. Beads of sweat were floating on the tip of her nose. She clearly had no blush on, but her cheekbones were tinged with rouge, their whiteness tinged with peach pink, making her look very charming and spirited. "Are you happy today?"
She shook the whip, "A little happier than yesterday."
She was so spoiled that she learned to control him.
Liang Chihui was delighted and said, "Then I'll find a way to make Mrs. Liang happier." He asked the horse trainer in English if he could understand. The trainer smiled and greeted him. He had a brief conversation. The trainer patted the horse's neck and made a gesture. The foal lifted up its front legs, supported itself with its hind legs, and took a few steps.
He Sang's eyes widened in surprise, "It can walk!"
The horse trainer squatted down, pointed at He Sang, and asked if the foal was beautiful. The foal nodded.
"It praised your beauty." Liang Chihui leaned close to her. Her skin was thin, with narrow indigo veins. He couldn't help but stroke her, his neck throbbing slightly. "Even a horse can tell the value of its goods, let alone a man. Mrs. Liang makes me feel threatened."
"It's really smart." He Sang changed the subject and gently pulled the foal's ear. "Am I smart?"
The foal nodded.
Her eyes suddenly turned into crescent shapes when she smiled.
Liang Chihui was inexplicably infected with laughter, "Do you like being praised for your intelligence?"
"Who doesn't like it? Big brother said I'm a fool." He Sang was angry.
"Liang Jing has always been honest."
She was startled and turned her head.
Liang Chihui clenched his left hand, put it to his lips and cleared his throat, "He sometimes lies."
Only then did He Sang turn back.
Leaning over, he asked the pony, "Is Liang Chihui's skirt beautiful?"
The foal nodded again.
Her face instantly fell. "You're lying. How could you be wearing a skirt? No matter what I asked it, it just nodded."
Liang Chihui didn't expect He Sang to be so hard to fool. He had deceived so many women, whether they were pretending or really doing it, in short, they acted innocently and satisfied in order to please him. Only He Sang, whose acting skills were the most professional, did not act.
Even last night at the Yanshan Restaurant, she had publicly humiliated him by saying "there's no wedding date set".
The harder it was to conquer her, the more excited he was to conquer her.
