Chapter 399 Unreal Warmth
He Sang vomited violently in the early morning and fell asleep at dawn. He got up and went downstairs at eleven o'clock.
There was a clanging noise in the kitchen. She walked over and saw a strange middle-aged woman inside. The nanny was introducing the kitchen utensils and how to use them to her.
"Ms. He doesn't eat onions, ginger, garlic, vegetable leaves, or sugar..."
"Sister Su." She was curious, "Who is this?"
"She's a nutritionist who takes care of pregnant women," the nanny said with a smile. "My husband is a first-time father too, so he has no experience, so he humbly asked Mrs. Lin for advice. Mrs. Lin's cousin from her natal family prepared the meals with the nutritionist from her pregnancy through the confinement period, and she took great care of him!"
The middle-aged woman bowed and said, "Ms. He, my last name is Gu."
He Sang's mind echoed with Liang Chihui's humbly asking Mrs. Lin for advice. What exactly was he up to?
Won’t it flow away?
Give birth and raise it?
Using the emperor to command the princes and coerce Liang Jishen?
"Ms. He...are you dissatisfied?"
At the nanny's urging, she came to her senses and said, "I have a lot of dietary restrictions and am quite picky about food. Thank you for your hard work, Teacher Gu."
She then asked the nanny, "Is Chi Hui coming home for lunch?"
"Go home." The nanny pointed to the French window. "The workers installed a swing this morning. Go play with it if you're bored."
He Sang followed the nanny's gestures and found a swing. It had a purple frame and was placed among the banana trees. The purple and green colors intertwined and were very beautiful.
Liang Chihui stepped into the entrance hall at noon. There was a sound of bells behind the door. The alpaca was lying on the shoe cabinet, chewing his slippers. He kicked it, and the alpaca was startled and spat at him. The nanny hurriedly drove it away, "Go to the backyard!"
The alpaca circled Liang Chihui, waiting for the right moment to spit at him. It spitted repeatedly, like a gentle rain. The nanny was so angry that she picked up the clothesline and threw it at the alpaca. "It's mean. It only spits at you, not even the bodyguards."
Liang Chihui's face was grim. "He was raised by the Third Brother. He is what he is."
The nanny didn't dare to say anything.
He took off his suit and asked, "Did your wife vomit?"
"I haven't eaten anything."
Liang Chihui frowned, "No appetite?"
"Waiting for you."
The corners of his lips curled up into a barely perceptible smile, "I don't believe it."
Liang Chihui went straight to the backyard.
The long wooden corridor extended to the fence frame. The floor was soaked with rainwater, and although it was cleaned in time, the color was soaked and darkened.
The sunlight shone on the leaves and then fell onto the swing through the cracks. He Sang didn't notice that there was a figure at the entrance of the wooden corridor. She was barefoot, her calves were exposed, and her rose pink skirt made her skin look like pearls.
He Sang hummed the tune of the guzheng. She was not good at singing, especially when she was not serious about singing, which was even more unbearable to listen to.
Liang Chihui stared at her from a distance for a long time, then stepped closer.
His palms covered her eyes.
"Robbery."
The swing was unstable and rocked violently, causing He Sang to sway back and forth. "What are you robbing?"
"What do you have?"
"I have an Australian and white pearl necklace, I'll give it all to you."
"Are you willing to do that?" Liang Chihui was a little unhappy. "Do you know who I am?"
“You’re an alpaca.”
The hand tightened, slowly moved down, and covered her mouth. "Do alpacas have hands? You're being too naughty."
He Sang leaned back, almost lying horizontally on the swing, looking up at Liang Chihui from below, "Apart from you, the nanny and bodyguards in the mansion won't scare me. What's the fun in a game without suspense?"
Liang Chihui also looked at her, "If you really encountered a robbery, you are very generous."
"Spending money can ward off disaster." She argued, "Do you want me to be safe, or do you want me to protect my money?"
"You can't give me a white wedding ring either." Liang Chihui felt a lump in his chest. He couldn't curse or blame her. "You are not allowed to take off the wedding ring again."
The spots of light between the leaves were like gorgeous bubbles. He Sang's eyes were filled with light, rich white, burnt yellow, and warm. Liang Chihui was immersed in the unreal warmth and was in a daze.
He reached out and held onto the creaking chain, "Are you dizzy?"
"No." She shook her head. "Have you heard of Zhao Feiyan?"
“Yes.”
"Zhao Feiyan could dance in the palm of your hand."
Liang Chihui was worried that she would fall, so he controlled the swing and said, "You can do it too, right?"
"I can be on the swing."
He raised his eyebrows, not quite believing it.
He Sang paused, resting her hands on her chin and shaking her neck, her gaze radiating. "Xinjiang dance." She swung her arms with unrestrained gestures. "Tibetan dance." She covered her face again, for a second, then withdrew her hands, staring with wide, round eyes. "Sichuan Opera face-changing."
Her "dance" medley was full of novelty. Liang Chihui was totally unprepared and couldn't help laughing, "What a mess."
"My final project in college was to perform a skit, and I performed this."
Liang Chihui held her hand and asked, "What's the score?"
"Second in the class."
"That's right." He stroked the diamond ring on He Sang's ring finger and repeated, "Don't take it off."
The ring is cold, and the fingertips are warm.
She pursed her lips.
"Answer me." Liang Chihui said seriously, "Do you want to pick it or not?"
He Sang was slow to respond.
The man took a step forward, put his arms around her, pressed her in his arms, and hugged her tightly.
I can't figure out what he's thinking.
Mrs. Lin came over at lunch time, bringing a box of sugar-free cake and congratulating Liang Chihui on the birth of her baby boy.
"Just over a month old, gender unknown."
"Your son, your daughter, it's the same." Mrs. Lin put down the cake box. "Being reborn into the Liang family means you've accumulated virtue and done good deeds for eight lifetimes. You were born with a hundred golden keys in your mouth. I'm really jealous."
Liang Chihui chuckled, "Mrs. Lin's sense of humor is improving day by day."
The nanny cut the cake. Liang Chihui didn't eat any, but He Sang ate two pieces. Mrs. Lin was surprised. "You have a good appetite. I almost vomited bile in the early stages of my pregnancy and lost 20 to 30 pounds. I only gradually stopped vomiting in the middle stages."
"She vomited too." Liang Chihui clasped his hands on her lower abdomen, looking like a loving father. "She has poor sleep and vomits at night. She's better during the day."
Mrs. Lin picked up the fish on the plate and said, "My specialty is grilled fish. I'll show off my cooking skills for dinner. Mrs. Liang, please eat more to replenish your nutrition."
Assistant Fan came in from outside at this time. Liang Chihui said goodbye and took him upstairs.
He Sang's mind began to stir. She stirred the cake base on the tray and said, "I want to eat oyster omelet."
Mrs. Lin frowned. "Does anyone sell oyster omelets in Ji Province?"
"I ate it during my southern tour and it was quite appetizing."
"You're the little ancestor. If you want to eat it, Mr. Liang will go to the ends of the earth to buy it back." Mrs. Lin stood up and wanted to find Liang Chihui, but He Sang stopped her. "I want to eat it now. I want to eat authentic, freshly baked food."
"Where can we get it now?" Mrs. Lin said in embarrassment.
He Sang lowered his voice, "There's one in Hebei Province, on Salt Lake Snack Street. The owner is from Fujian. The third brother bought there once."
Mrs. Lin does not hang out in the circle of upper-class housewives. She is a wife who has a balanced career and family. Her career is to assist Mr. Lin. Mr. Lin's meeting speeches are rarely written by his secretary. Mrs. Lin writes them for him. She is a woman of great substance. She is not on the same spiritual level as those rich wives who play mahjong and show off luxury goods, and they cannot mix with her.
Because of the differences in their circles, naturally they don’t know much about the inside story of the dispute between He Sang and Liang Jishen. They have heard about it but don’t know it in depth.
"Then you can ask the Third Young Master to buy it. You are his second sister-in-law now, and it is only natural for a brother-in-law to do his best for his sister-in-law."
"The second and third wives are quarreling fiercely, I'm afraid Chi Hui won't be happy..." He Sang pretended to be virtuous and tactful.
Mrs. Lin suddenly understood, without a doubt, "That's right, once the rich brothers have a falling out, they will never see each other again." She took the initiative to jump into the trap, "I asked the third young master to bring a box of hot ones, I picked it up and brought it to you. Mr. Liang thought I bought it."
"That's too much trouble for Mrs. Lin." He Sang was delighted. "I'll give you my phone number. I want a box of oyster omelets. I'm also tempted by the Korean rice cakes across the street from the oyster omelets, but the hygiene there is so filthy and messy. Please remind the third child to go to the kitchen and watch the chef frying. Check every corner and bowl carefully. It can't be unhygienic. It's not good for the fetus."
Mrs. Lin smiled and said, "I'll remember that."
