Chapter 420 Self-harm
It was midnight when the car drove into the hospital.
There was only one consulting room with lights on on the first floor, and next door was a temporary ward.
A sign saying "Family members are not allowed" was nailed to the wall. Liang Chihui held He Sang horizontally on the hospital bed, comforted her with a few words, and then left silently.
The nurse looked at the man. He was soaked and looked quite disheveled, but he was handsome and not decadent at all. Instead, he seemed quite dignified.
Even though the clothes were wrinkled, one could still tell they were from a high-quality brand, especially the watch, which was out of production and sold for a high price at the auction.
She was furious. "Why didn't the family pay attention? A pregnant woman caught a cold in the rain. Injections and medication will affect the fetus. If she doesn't take the medicine, the pregnant woman will suffer. You are a husband, right? No matter how busy your career is, you have to be with your wife and children. Pregnant women are prone to depression, and the pregnancy and postpartum period are the most sensitive."
"I remember that."
Liang Chihui stood in the corridor, peering through the window of the treatment room at He Sang. Her face was white and transparent, and she lay frail under the light. "Will my wife have a miscarriage?"
"The doctor is disinfecting. Come over in a while and take some X-rays and tests first." The nurse entered the ward and closed the door.
Liang Chihui took out the cigarette box and lighter from his pocket, stood at the stairs at the back door, and lit it with trembling hands.
The cigarette was soaked in water and became damp and cottony. He tried several times but failed. He held the cigarette in his mouth and looked up at the heavy rain.
This city is not as prosperous as Hebei Province. Hebei Province is full of decadence and luxury, while this city is depressed and lonely.
Maybe his state of mind is different.
From the noble Second Master Liang, he fell to an ordinary man hiding his identity.
He pressed the tip of his tongue against the cigarette butt, tore it with his teeth, and the tobacco scattered all over the windowsill.
Liang Chihui bent down and blew the tobacco into the wind and rain outside the window.
After the three nurses took the blood, He Sang was pushed back to the temporary ward.
A group of medical staff in white clothes holding syringes scared her so much that she hid under the quilt and covered her head.
Liang Chihui couldn't help but smile and lifted her quilt, "I'm here, what are you afraid of."
She tried to hide it, but he held her back, "Hold your breath. If you don't breathe, the child won't breathe either."
He Sang suddenly stopped moving.
The doctor asked her how her abdomen felt. She grabbed the hem of her skirt and refused to let go. "I...it doesn't hurt anymore."
The doctor was stunned. "Bleeding is not a trivial matter. Bleeding in early pregnancy is likely a symptom of threatened miscarriage. The results will be available in half an hour. I need to check first and prescribe medication to protect the fetus in time according to your physical condition."
She said slowly, "Is there a female doctor..."
Liang Chihui laughed and explained to the doctor, "My wife is shy and introverted, so thank you for your help."
"There happened to be a female doctor on duty, so I asked her to take over." The doctor was very generous, and Liang Chihui personally escorted him out of the ward.
Not long after, the female doctor arrived, and He Sang's pregnancy test report was also expedited. The female doctor flipped through it and said, "It's not a threatened miscarriage. The fetus is healthy and developing well in the mother's body."
Liang Chihui vaguely sensed something was wrong. He looked at He Sang, but she didn't look relieved. It seemed like she had expected the child to be fine.
"Could you please check my wife?" he said seriously. "I'm not sure."
The female doctor put down the diagnosis sheet and washed her hands in front of the disinfectant. "A new father, right? It's right to be cautious. Pregnant women need the most care."
He Sang pursed his lips and said, "Isn't the fetus very healthy? I won't check it anymore."
The female doctor noticed their disagreement and waited on the side.
Liang Chihui narrowed his eyes, his whole body solemn and intimidating. "I'll tolerate you in everything else, but you can't be willful in this matter." He scolded He Sang and looked at the female doctor. "Go ahead and check."
He Sang wiped the sweat from his palms without leaving a trace.
The female doctor carefully examined her lower body, especially her legs. It was obvious that the focus was not on the fetus. Liang Chihui became increasingly aware that something was wrong. He remained calm on the surface and said, "Excuse me for a moment."
He Sang panicked.
He watched in fear as the female doctor and Liang Chihui walked out of the ward.
He closed the door, leaving no room for a gap. "Doctor, it's okay if you tell me what you mean."
The female doctor was puzzled. "The fetus is fine, but the pregnant woman's inner thigh was punctured by a sharp object."
Liang Chihui's expression was solemn. "Stab wound?"
"Yes, if it's iron, you must get a tetanus shot, otherwise it may cause fetal infection."
He slowly clenched his lowered hand for a long time, "I'll ask her."
The female doctor nodded. "You can stay overnight for observation, or go home and rest."
Liang Chihui turned around and ran straight to the garage in the wind and rain.
......
He Sang sat in the ward for twenty minutes before Liang Chihui came back.
He was drenched in the rain again, took off his suit at the door of the ward and shook off the water droplets.
"You'll be discharged tomorrow morning. No more trouble." He was still gentle and considerate, like a lingering spring breeze, gently brushing past her and nourishing her.
But beneath this jade-like appearance, there is a sense of solemnity and distance.
He Sang's heart was pounding.
Liang Chihui's emotions are much more stable than Liang Jishen's, but once a stable man's emotions accumulate to the point of explosion, he becomes unstable, which is quite terrifying.
He hung up his suit, sat on the edge of the bed, and gently stroked He Sang's belly, "It's almost two months."
He Sang hummed.
Liang Chihui's eyes were filled with the loving kindness of a father, "Shouldn't he be a little older?"
"There are colleagues in the theatre who have been pregnant, and their pregnancies were visible at four months."
"Every mother is different." He stroked her harder, "You're even more different from them."
He Sang began to feel unwell, "Chi Hui..."
Liang Chihui's hand stopped at her lower abdomen, as if smiling or not, "For example, as mothers, they dare not follow Mrs. Liang's self-harming methods to deceive me to send you to the hospital."
