Chapter 48 Excitement
He Sang moved back and pulled the girl who was acting as his stand-in, "Let's switch places."
The little girl didn't dare to change, "You are the heroine."
"Give you a chance to show your face in front of the leaders, and the hospital will praise you."
The little girl couldn't resist the temptation of fame and said, "Thank you, Sister Sang!"
He Sang hid himself in a group of tall supporting actors, as stealthily as possible.
The director gestured, indicating Liang Jishen in the center. "This is Deputy Secretary Liang of the China Overseas Group Committee."
After the applause, he walked towards Zhou Chen, who was the most conspicuous, and shook his hand briefly, "What was your performance?"
Zhou Chen was quite unconvinced, "Xu Wenqiang."
Liang Jishen tilted his head slightly, and the director immediately introduced, "It's Chow Yun-fat's role in the old version of 'The Bund'."
"Is he the backbone of your theater?"
"He used to be, but now he's been transferred. He's a mainstay of the city theater. Last year, the Central Academy of Drama offered him a teaching position in the acting department, but he didn't go."
"Why not?"
Zhou Chen took the lead and said, "Because the woman I like is in the theater."
"Zhou Chen!" Someone in the back row called his name.
Liang Jishen recognized who it was and glanced at them with a cold gaze. He Sang clenched his fist and fell silent.
"Sacrifice for love," he concluded.
Zhou Chen looked him in the eye. "Deputy Secretary Liang and I are not the same kind of people. You don't understand me, and I don't understand you either."
A smile played on his lips, "So did your sacrifice yield any results?"
Zhou Chen was full of hostility. "As long as people like Deputy Secretary Liang don't interfere, there will be results."
"Very confident." The man's smile deepened. "I believe I'm qualified to teach you a lesson. First, cultivate your skills. Once you have them, even if someone like me intervenes, you'll have the capital to fight back instead of harboring resentment."
The director sensed something was amiss and led Liang Jishen forward, searching for He Sang as he walked. "Where's the heroine?"
Everyone made way, and He Sang was in the last row.
Liang Jishen laughed and jokingly asked the director, "Are you hiding from me?"
"No, no—" The director, unaware of the situation, dragged He Sang out. "She's timid and hasn't experienced such a big scene."
The man held out his hand as usual and waited for her.
He Sang held it and said, "Deputy Secretary Liang."
His hands were warm and rough, wrapping around her like a heavy iron.
"The typhoon is good."
"As long as you like it."
Liang Jishen seemed to be teasing her on purpose, "What are you acting?"
He Sang took a deep breath and answered patiently, "Feng Chengcheng."
He tilted his head in thought again, "Are you and Xu Wenqiang a couple?"
The director nodded repeatedly, "They are a couple."
Liang Jishen still held He Sang's hand, "We have a tacit understanding, isn't it in real life?"
"In real life, they're old classmates and a golden pair in the drama world." The director beamed. "It's normal for young people to fall in love. When fate brings them together, their feelings will naturally blossom."
The man suddenly said seriously, "Work is work. Don't let your personal life interfere with your work."
The director was stunned. Liang Jishen actually spoke in an official tone, and he hurriedly cooperated, "We must strictly manage actors' romantic relationships during filming, and require that public and private affairs be kept separate."
He let go of He Sang and comforted the next person.
Originally, they were only going to express their condolences to the main characters, but Liang Jishen had just taken office in the provincial enterprise and it was not convenient for him to put on airs, so they shook hands and talked with each of them one by one. It was half an hour later when the conversation ended and He Sang's feet were numb from standing. During the final group photo session, the dean quietly slipped onto the stage, pushed He Sang out, and stood on the left side of Liang Jishen.
On the right was the second female lead, who was very schemingly holding Liang Jishen's arm in a very intimate posture. He slowly pulled his arm away and said jokingly, "Director Ma, isn't it inappropriate to hug left and right?"
The director laughed. "Deputy Secretary Liang is a man of integrity. Even if you were lying around women, your actions would be innocent. Who could possibly misunderstand you?"
Liang Jishen finally declined the girl, and Zhou Chen took his place on his right. When the photographer pressed the shutter, He Sang felt the man put his arm around her waist, just once, not a big move, and since they were so crowded, she didn't expose anything.
As soon as the flash went off, he pulled away.
He Sang's heart was pounding and his palms were sweaty.
No wonder men are keen on excitement. The more they steal, the more hidden they are, the more rebellious they are, the more excited they get and they can't stop.
It does have a different flavor.
She limped down the stairs, and the girls gathered to discuss the leaders present. In addition to Liang Jishen, there was one from the Cultural Bureau who was very gentle and refined. During the intermission, he recited a poem by Gorky with a very emotional rhythm.
Girls of this age are just beginning to fall in love and are easily attracted to men with culture and status. He Sang has witnessed with his own eyes how many girls admire the men in Liang Jishen's circle and throw themselves at them one after another, hoping for a good outcome but failing to achieve it.
Passing by the men's dressing room, the director was criticizing Zhou Chen inside, "You're just a little actor, don't you have eyes? Why are you showing off so much?"
Zhou Chen leaned against the wall, his hands in his pockets, "Don't worry about it."
The dean gnashed his teeth and said, "You were demoted to the city theater. Don't you know what's going on?"
"He was the one who bullied me!"
"It's good that you know what's going on! Can you think that an arm can twist a thigh? Liang Laosan is not a merciless person. If you don't provoke him, he won't easily make things difficult for you. You are just overestimating yourself, do you understand?"
When Zhou Chen received the demotion notice, he knew that Liang Jishen had deliberately separated him and He Sang. He went to China Overseas Group to ask for an explanation, but was not even seen by the security guards.
At first, he thought Liang Jishen felt he was in the wrong and didn't have the courage to see him.
It was not until that day when Zhonghai held a board meeting that Liang Jishen hurried over from the opening ceremony of the city museum. After presiding over the meeting, he went to Lin City without stopping to attend a political and business seminar, like a spinning top. Only then did he realize that the man did not take him seriously at all.
They were not from the same class, and Liang Jishen could crush him as easily as crushing an ant.
This hit Zhou Chen hard.
He hated people like Liang Jishen, who had all the advantages to capture women without even having to do it, and was born a winner.
"He Sang broke up with him."
"So what if it's broken?" The dean was also annoyed. "It's not your turn to take the woman he doesn't want! Think about your own weight!"
He Sang listened at the door for a moment and then went backstage.
"Sister Sang, you really stole the show today! Deputy Secretary Liang shook hands with you the longest." The little girl leaned over the dressing table. "Is he soft?"
He Sang sat down and took off his lipstick. "Rough."
"So, is he in good shape?"
There were many people talking backstage, so she didn't want to talk about it. "You can see for yourself."
"Isn't he stunning when he takes off his clothes? The announcer, Huang, is a physiognomist. He said that Deputy Secretary Liang's physique—"
She covered the little girl's mouth and said, "Stop talking nonsense."
After removing her makeup, He Sang came out of the theater, walked around the main entrance, and headed towards the back door.
A red flag car was parked across the street. She didn't get in the car, but closed the window.
The man lowered the window. The sky was gray and his face looked a little gloomy.
"I have something to ask you."
Liang Jishen hummed, "Come up and ask again."
