Chapter 67 The Choice Between Two Women
The rider fell down the slope and hit the tree trunk hard. The knight's hat flew several meters away. The long chestnut hair was tied behind her head. It was a woman.
The horse fell sprawled in the grass, with a string of silver bells hanging from its neck, engraved with the golden characters "Liang San" in small seal script.
He Sang was stunned.
Private horse farms have a rule: the horses are named after the owner. These dignitaries often gather for races. At the peak of their activity, seven or eight prominent figures occupy the same track, especially those with female companions. The men, to save face, are known for their ability to hold back. With the name tag, whoever has the greater background runs first, and those who are outnumbered must give way.
Since it is a "Liang San" card, it must be Liang Jishen's horse.
He Sang had a bad premonition. She stared at the woman. The woman slowly turned her head, and she felt Liang Jishen's chest tremble violently.
Even wrapped in thick knight clothes, the fluctuation of his heartbeat was so obvious.
Song He's riding suit was an old red military uniform, while He Sang's was a brand new white military uniform of the same style. Even the phoenix pattern on the sheepskin belt was exactly the same.
The colors, one red and one white, are like a cinnabar mole and white moonlight.
It’s just that Song He wore it in front and she wore it in the back.
What she had was what Liang Jishen had already given to others, and what Song He had possessed many years ago.
He Sang felt as uncomfortable as if he had swallowed a fly.
Xin Xin said that Liang Jishen taught Song He horsemanship personally and also took her to the fencing field. Zhou Kun had seen her before, and probably because of preconceived notions, he had a better impression of her than of He Sang.
She actually appeared here.
Liang Jishen turned the corner and she went downhill, timing herself to the exact minute.
The man dismounted, strode over, and held out his hand to her, "Why are you here?"
She sprained her ankle and it was severely swollen. She held the man's hand but it was too painful to get up.
Liang Jishen pulled her, just like pulling He Sang onto a horse, and Song He threw herself into his arms, moaning awkwardly.
He lowered his eyes, "Where does it hurt?"
Song He was sweating profusely, "My hamstring might be broken..."
Liang Jishen picked her up horizontally, raised his left arm, and observed the top of her feet. The blood vessels were purple, and bruises spread from her toes to her calves. There was not an inch of intact skin, all were torn and abraded.
His eyes showed anxiety, and his tone became more serious. "You just got out of the hospital and haven't recovered yet. Why are you riding a horse?"
"I want to see you." Song He hugged his neck, suppressing tears with a trembling voice. "I don't know where you are. I just remember that you raised horses at the ranch, so I didn't care."
She held back for a moment, but tears still fell.
Drop after drop fell on the back of his hand, warm and cool.
Liang Jishen noticed this and calmed down. "Who told you that I was in another province?"
Song He gasped in pain, "Mrs. Huang..."
He frowned, not impressed, "Which Mrs. Huang?"
"The ex-wife of Huang Biao, vice president of Liang Group."
He Sang knew that Huang Biao was Cui Manli's backer, and he liked her very much. If there was anyone in the drama theater who married into a wealthy family and had a happy ending, Cui Manli would probably be the only one.
"I've been to Zhonghai..." Song He choked, burying her face in his shoulder. "Secretary Cheng said you weren't there, but later Mrs. Huang told me you were in another province visiting Miss He."
The man squinted his eyes at the flying dust and was silent for a long time. "Let's go to the hospital first."
He Sang gripped the reins, the horse's hooves bouncing back and forth, shaking her and making her tremble. The bright sun was suddenly obscured by a sudden cloud, and in the darkness, her small, soft body came into Liang Jishen's sight.
Song He's horse also frightened her. Her face turned pale and her eyes were red. She was riding alone on the broad horse's back, feeling shaky.
"I'll tell Lao Qiu to pick you up and take you back to the hotel."
He Sang froze.
Cheng Xun did not come to the horse farm with him, and Liang Jishen only rented a car. He had to take care of Song He first, so he couldn't take care of her.
At this juncture, he always has to make a choice.
Thunder roared loudly in the empty mountains, rumbling overhead, very low and very close.
He Sang is most afraid of darkness and thunder.
If she were at home, she would lock the windows, draw the curtains, and crawl under the quilt until the thunder stopped.
"The city is so far away from the western suburbs, and Mr. Qiu and I are not familiar with each other."
"He's entertaining people at Hongliu Villa today, so he's not far away."
He Sang looked at him for a long time. She took off her riding clothes and threw them at Liang Jishen's feet. She climbed onto the horse's back with both hands and tried to touch the ground. She didn't grasp the angle well and kicked the horse's belly. The horse tilted and she staggered and fell into the mud.
The man wanted to help her, but he had no hands free. He carried Song He into the back seat, closed the car door, turned around and hugged He Sang. She patted the dust off her butt, ignored him, and stood up by herself.
Liang Jishen stood there, the sky was gloomy and his expression was also dark.
He Sang said, "I'll take a taxi back."
"There are no cars in the suburbs." He pulled her back and said, "He Sang, don't be so willful."
Song He leaned against the glass, sympathizing with him, "Brother Shen, please give Miss He a ride."
The man didn't respond.
To get to the nearest hospital in the western suburbs, go east, and to get to Lishui Gongguan, go west, which are completely opposite directions.
Another thunderstorm is coming, and the mountain road is already muddy and difficult to walk on.
Song He's foot injury is the top priority.
Liang Jishen tightened his grip on He Sang's fingers, then released them the next second. "Xiao He's condition cannot be delayed any longer. He needs bone-setting surgery."
He Sang remained calm and didn't say a word of no.
Saying no won't change the situation.
