Chapter 28 Wait for Me
Liang Jishen has been in China Overseas Group recently, preparing to take office.
Factional struggles within Zhonghai were intense, and their parachuting in was meant to shake things up. Liang Jishen had also learned that positions above vice president were filled with well-connected individuals with proven track records. As a leader of the new generation, he was too young and inexperienced to convince the crowd.
When He Sang went to Jinyue Mansion, her husband was not there, so she went to Zhonghai.
The front desk clerk told her that Deputy Secretary Liang had a lot of appointments scheduled until the end of January.
"I'm not here to discuss business. I'm here to deliver medicine."
When the receptionist heard about the medicine, she realized the seriousness of the matter and immediately dialed the internal line, "A lady delivering medicine wants to see Deputy Secretary Liang."
The other party replied something, and the receptionist nodded, "Please go to the third floor."
When He Sang entered the elevator, a wall-mounted advertising machine was introducing the resumes of the members of the China Overseas Group's committee.
There is a world of difference between leading enterprises and private enterprises. Private enterprises have a light luxury modern style, while China Overseas’ conference room is like a retro conference hall, with an old, simple and official style.
He Sang had only seen Liang Jishen working in his study, but had never seen him in the company.
I envy Miss Song quite a bit. When she was with Liang Jishen, he was working in a government office. His uniform, leather shoes, and gold-rimmed epaulettes gave him a serious, dashing look, especially with his peaked cap. Just looking at his work photos made him look incredibly handsome. And he was more active than still; no wonder he was so popular with women.
The average age of this group of executives is around fifty years old. Their every smile, every word and action is sophisticated and sarcastic, like an old demon that has turned into a spirit.
Liang Jishen sat in the upper seat, wearing an iron-gray suit with dark stripes and holding a fountain pen. He would occasionally comment on a project, but mostly just listened attentively. He was more stable than usual, serious and composed, yet he was able to keep the situation under control.
Cheng Xun, who was taking minutes at the meeting, noticed He Sang outside the glass window and whispered a reminder to him.
The man raised his eyes, without showing any emotion, and continued with the meeting.
He Sang knew him, a vigorous and efficient workaholic. She was not in a hurry and took a paper cup of coffee in the rest area opposite and casually flipped through magazines.
After flipping through the book halfway, she saw a pair of white leather shoes out of the corner of her eye.
The corridor echoed loudly, so the man deliberately controlled his voice and asked, "Why are you here?"
"You don't take photos," He Sang said sincerely. "Your resume is posted in the elevator. You look better in person than in photos."
He raised an eyebrow, "The photo isn't good?"
"ugly."
Liang Jishen looked down at her condescendingly, a smile on his face, "Lying will give you pimples."
She used to rehearse plays day and night, which caused endocrine disorders and she had as many as seven pimples on her chin. He jokingly said it was a conjunction of seven stars.
"I won't grow any longer after drinking the Chinese medicine."
"It will take longer to lie."
He Sang got up from the chair and said, "I'll change the medicine for you."
He was tired after sitting in a series of meetings all morning. He stretched his neck twice and said, "Wait for me at Lushan Mansion."
Liang Jishen rented a lake-view apartment there on an annual basis. Lushan has a high degree of privacy and a dedicated hotel butler, so outsiders are not allowed to enter. He was actually a little scared, so he arranged for He Sang to live there for a while.
"Go change in your office."
He Sang was worried that he wouldn't make it to the evening, so the gauze he used for the last dressing change was cut too thin, so blood would seep through easily.
"The office is being renovated. Now you have to share a room with the director of the Supervision Department. It's not convenient for you to go." The man disagreed.
"Then you should come home early after get off work."
Liang Jishen's collar was tucked in, and He Sang went to straighten it out for him. At this moment, an old man suddenly appeared from nowhere and bowed to him. "Congratulations, Deputy Secretary Liang. You have the brightest future among this group of young talents in the province."
The man said politely, "Thank you for your support."
"You are truly capable. The group has had a backlog of projects for several years, and you dared to make the decision to restart them. Who else has such courage?"
Subordinates came out of the conference room one after another to congratulate him. Liang Jishen was not arrogant and was very approachable, which instead enhanced his sense of authority.
Almost everyone had left, leaving only Cheng Xun packing up his speech next door. Liang Jishen handed her the car keys and said, "There's a Land Rover in the basement garage. Drive back to Lushan."
He Sang refused, "Your license plate is too eye-catching."
Liang Jishen is now a rising star, and his relationships with men and women have attracted much attention.
Either their status is restored, or they disappear into obscurity.
Being in between unclear and unclear things caused him the most trouble.
"It's a new car, I haven't driven it before."
He stood under the lamp, as tall and handsome as a pine or cypress.
"It's a bit like an affair, no." He Sang felt that the description was not harsh enough, "It's more like adultery."
The man smiled and said, "Stop talking nonsense."
