Chapter 4 Buying Livestock

"What's here? Take it yourself."

"The boss lady is generous and makes a lot of money!"

With permission, Ji He happily took one of each spice. She was not greedy and really only took one of each, as long as it was enough to upgrade the space.

The proprietress instructed the shop assistants to hurry up and stock the goods. Although the seasonings are sold by weight, they are now individually packaged in barrels, not in bulk.

After getting the spices, Ji He saw that it would take some time to get all the goods, so he told the proprietress that he would come to get them later and then hurried back to the grain area.

The goods were ready, so she asked someone to help move them onto the tricycle, and they were delivered in just a few trips.

After taking away all the food and seasonings, she saw the dry goods area and simply turned in to buy some black fungus, mushrooms, kelp, seaweed, red dates, pickled plums, etc. After buying these, she saw peanuts, melon seeds, and beef-flavored broad beans, which were not expensive in the wholesale market. She tried to hold back but couldn't, and bought 50 kilograms.

In the end, I spent 7,000 yuan to leave.

After buying these, she went to the seed wholesale store on one side of the market. This really opened her eyes. Basically, there were many types of each kind of grain, most of which she had never heard of. Even corn was simply divided into sweet corn, glutinous corn, black corn, ordinary corn and high-oil corn, and there were many different models under them.

Ji He asked the store owner to help him introduce things, and finally he picked out those with good taste and that could be kept for seeds. He bought all the seeds of daily vegetables, grains, fruits, cotton, and medicinal herbs.

When he bent down, he saw piles of yams, sweet potatoes, potatoes, and sugarcane on the ground. Ji He did not miss any of them and took some of them all.

Although the boss was a little surprised that she bought so much, he still introduced various mushroom bags based on the principle that it would be a fool not to make money. He said that they could be eaten after pouring water on them and could be harvested three times in total. Ji He did not miss out and selected the commonly eaten enoki mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, chicken leg mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and tea tree mushrooms and ordered 40 bags.

The final bill totaled 1,000 yuan. Although the seeds were not too expensive, only 1 or 2 yuan per bag, Ji He bought a lot, so in the end it was not that cheap.

Seeing that she bought a lot, the boss gave her a lot of other seeds and told her to go back and plant them before coming back.

After leaving the seed shop, Ji He went to the sapling area next to it and picked out apples, bananas, oranges, dragon fruit, dates, pears, bayberries, mulberries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, plums, mangoes, cherries, mangosteens, lychees, durian, lemons, pomegranates, yellow-heart kiwis, and jackfruits and bought 2 plants each.

The boss was kind enough to tell her that tropical fruits like durian and mango cannot be grown here.

Ji He said that she took it back for research and it didn't matter if it couldn't grow.

In fact, she just wanted to give it a try. If the space could really grow durian, what kind of vegetables would she need to sell in the future? She could just plant durian trees instead. By then, she could make much more money than selling other fruits.

In addition to these, she bought a lot of farming tools, such as hoes, shovels, fertilizers, pesticides, etc.

After finally calculating, this trip cost more than 50,000 yuan in total. Although she felt a little distressed, Ji He was still satisfied. When she saw the space filled with supplies, she really felt a sense of satisfaction and security from the inside out.

After finding an empty place to store the saplings, Ji He went to the breeding base again. The place was not small, but the smell inside was unpleasant.

Ji He picked out 10 hens, 2 roosters, 5 female ducks, 2 drakes, 3 female rabbits, 2 drakes, 3 female geese, 1 gander, and 6 quails and paid for them. They were all young birds, and the price was not expensive, only a few dollars each.

After buying these, she picked out pigs, cows, and sheep and asked for one male and one female of each.

These types are more expensive, even the cubs are not cheap, and in the end I spent a total of 9,500.

Ji He bargained for a long time but the boss refused to give him a bargain. He only agreed to give him some supporting items such as feed, feed boxes, and troughs.

After all, having a gift is better than having no gift, so Ji He finally nodded.

After buying the livestock, Ji He was so hungry that her stomach was sticking to her back. She hadn't eaten in the morning and had been busy all morning. Now her stomach was a little painful.

She rode her tricycle and soon found a lunch box seller at a construction site. She lined up with the construction workers, bought a lunch box for 12 yuan, and ate it on the tricycle.

As soon as the lunch box was opened, Ji He smelled the fragrance. After taking a bite, he nodded in satisfaction. The taste was quite good.

Today's dishes include meat slices, dried tofu with hot peppers, dry-pot cauliflower, and roasted eggplant, one meat and three vegetables. Ji He ate to his heart's content and didn't leave a single grain of rice. Finally, he drank the egg drop soup that the boss gave him, and only then did he feel alive.

She took all the livestock from the tricycle and then rode to the aquaculture base.

Ji He had never raised fish before, and there were too many types of fish fry in the aquaculture base, many of which she had never seen before.

Finally, she decided to buy a few types selectively. She found a larger store and told the owner about her needs.

"Boss, we need to raise fish at home, so I came here to pick some that taste good."

The boss was a middle-aged man who looked quite honest and did not bully Ji He because of her young face.

"Do you want fresh water or sea water?"

"I want both, but preferably the kind that tastes good and sells well."

After listening to Ji He's needs, the boss provided her with a set meal and spent a long time introducing the varieties of fish. Some of them can be raised together, such as lobsters and crabs, but some cannot.

After hearing this, Ji He nodded repeatedly, and finally, accompanied by the boss, he bought 1 pound of crayfish, 1 pound of hairy crabs, 1 pound of eels, half a pound of loach, half a pound of crucian carp, half a pound of silver carp, half a pound of carp, half a pound of mandarin fish, half a pound of grass carp, half a pound of sea bass, half a pound of turbot, half a pound of grouper, half a pound of black fish, 1 pound of small blue dragon, 1 pound of scallops, 1 pound of oysters, half a pound of razor clams, half a pound of cockles, half a pound of abalone, half a pound of swimming crabs, half a pound of octopus, half a pound of prawns, half a pound of yellow croaker, half a pound of eel, half a pound of silver cod, half a pound of sunfish, half a pound of tilapia, half a pound of dace, half a pound of hairtail, and half a pound of mandarin fish.

Gradually, the boss's expression became hesitant, probably thinking that Ji He would be beaten if he bought such things home. He tried to persuade him a few times, but seeing that Ji He insisted, he didn't say much in the end. After all, the fact that he could say that one sentence showed that he had a conscience.

When the boss saw that Ji He had bought the fish, he explained to her some fish-raising techniques and sold her a bunch of fish worms, water plants, seaweed, kelp, fish feed, tool nets, etc.

Ji He thought they were all useful, so she bought them all, and also bought some extra fishing nets, preparing to make several partitions in the space sea. After all, she had spent money to buy them, and she might as well not eat them all before the carnivorous fish in the space.

At last count, it cost almost 6,000.

After buying the fish fry, Ji He discussed with the boss and asked for one of each of the fish fry that she had not bought. The boss agreed without thinking, saying that the fish fry were not big and one would not be worth the money. He asked her to catch them herself while he prepared the stock.
