Chapter 39: Standing for Lateness

Gong Yu dodged to the side, and the chalk flew over her and hit the corridor outside. At the same time, while no one was paying attention, she opened her five fingers and controlled her supernatural power to grab a piece of chalk from the podium.

"Still dare to hide?"

Seeing Gong Yu dodge, Yang Li angrily grabbed the chalk again and wanted to throw it, but suddenly he screamed, quickly covered the back of his head and looked behind him.

A piece of chalk hit him on the head and broke into two pieces when it fell to the ground.

Is this a blatant challenge to the teacher's authority?

"Who dumped me?"

Yang Li glared at the classmates present with fierce eyes, and finally locked his eyes on Gong Yu in anger.

But before he could say anything, Gong Yu said calmly, "The chalk you threw at me is still on the ground, and I can't hit the back of your head."

What it means is: This matter has nothing to do with me.

Yang Li looked at the chalk on the ground, and then thought that the chalk was thrown from the opposite direction of Gong Yu. It seemed a bit far-fetched to put the blame on Gong Yu.

But even though he knew it had nothing to do with Gong Yu, it didn't stop him from venting his anger on Gong Yu.

"Did I ask you to speak? Go stand there as punishment." Yang Li pointed to the corner.

The corner is the dirtiest place in every classroom. Not only is it located in a remote area, but it also houses brooms and trash cans. An unpleasant musty smell wafts out, making people frown.

But for the students who always sit at the last table in the fourth group, they have long been accustomed to this smell.

Gong Yu's location is here.

Gong Yu remained silent and stood in the corner.

It was normal for her to be punished by standing for being late for school. There was nothing to make a fuss about.

"Teacher Yang, Gong Yu hasn't handed in her homework yet."

Yang Li was feeling frustrated and was about to continue the class when Zhao Rui suddenly stood up and kindly reminded him with a gloating glint in her eyes.

Gong Yu's academic performance is notoriously poor, and her homework is full of mistakes. She often hands in blank assignments because she can't finish them.

Yang Li is very angry now, and Zhao Rui's reminder clearly shows that she wants Yang Li to humiliate Gong Yu in public.

"Zhao Rui is a very responsible study committee member, and the teacher is very relieved." Yang Li first praised Zhao Rui, then looked at Gong Yu with annoyance, "Hand in your homework book."

All the students looked at Gong Yu's face, expecting her to show fear, frustration, and cowardice.

But surprisingly, Gong Yu not only did not do as they expected, but instead put the homework book on the podium and turned around and walked back to the corner.

This calm self-awareness actually makes people feel that Gong Yu was not forced, but rather voluntary.

Could it be that Gong Yu has finished his homework?

So what if it’s finished?

There will still be lots of mistakes and omissions, which will be embarrassing.

Yang Li picked up Gong Yu's homework book and opened it in confusion. The first few pages were previous homework, and the big red crosses were very eye-catching.

Seeing Yang Li's look of disdain, Zhao Rui couldn't help but glance at Gong Yu with pride.

She spent half of the week off in the hospital, her arm in a cast due to a broken bone, which seriously affected her life.

Even after being discharged from the hospital, she didn't dare go out and only dared to stay at home and didn't want to see anyone.

Every time she looked in the mirror and saw her bald head, she had the urge to kill Gong Yu, and her hatred became stronger and stronger.

"Teacher Yang, has Gong Yu finished her homework?" Zhao Rui asked deliberately.

Yang Li did not answer Zhao Rui's words. Instead, he looked up with a strange expression and looked at Gong Yu in disbelief. His unfamiliar eyes seemed as if he didn't recognize Gong Yu.
