Chapter 6

Shi Xin could not deny it and stood aside silently.

"We are in a difficult situation now." Ming Qiao put down the knife and sighed softly: "Not only do we have to save the students who are already trapped in here, but we also have to save the ones who come in later."

"But as soon as we came in, we were trapped by all these messy things and had no time to do our work," said Shi Xin.

After saying this, both of them looked solemn.

The problems they are worried about are all problems that need to be solved urgently, and each one of them cannot be delayed.

"You take the photo." Mingqiao washed his hands. "I don't know where I dropped my phone."

"Yeah." Shi Xin raised the camera hanging around his neck and took a picture of the tomato split in half. He tried to connect to Bluetooth and projected the photo onto the big screen in the cafeteria.

"Go see if you can get out."

The two walked out together, neither of them speaking tacitly, until they were almost at the restaurant entrance, when Mingqiao, who was walking in front, suddenly stopped.

"I don't think it's open." Mingqiao said, "It can't be that simple."

"I'll try." Shi Xin walked around him and went straight out. Sure enough, the transparent wall was still there.

This time, because Mingqiao had given him a heads-up, he was not too disappointed when he knew he couldn't go out. He went back and stood in front of Mingqiao, "Did we accidentally break any other rules?"

Mingqiao lowered his head and thought for a while: "Replay?"

"Okay. Where do I start?"

"Since we first came in."

The two stood not far from the door, discussing quietly. First, they didn't want to create more pressure on Zhang Wanqiao and Wang Dada, and second, they had to concentrate on thoroughly studying the entire cafeteria - the door was the best place to observe.

"We saw the notice, came in, registered first, and then applied for the card," Shi Xin recalled.

"No problem here." Mingqiao said, "Then we ordered food and used your card."

"There is no rule that prohibits others from swiping your card on your behalf, so there is no problem here," said Shi Xin.

"The problem occurred when we went to get food for the second time." Ming Qiao rubbed his temples and forced himself to remember every detail. "I thought that food should not be wasted, so I thought the key to escape was to finish all the food in the restaurant. So we got food for the second time, but when I swiped my card, I found that my card had reached its limit and an alarm went off that couldn't be stopped. In order to prevent the series of consequences that the alarm might bring, I chose to swipe my employee card."

"This is indeed a violation of the rules written on the notice at the door." Shi Xin said, "But you were also punished, weren't you? You also said that the rules written on the notice at the door were not the most important, so the punishment was relatively light."

"Then during the time when I was being punished, Zhang Wanqiao and Wang Dada came in, right?" Mingqiao asked.

"Yes." Shi Xin nodded: "As soon as you disappeared, they appeared behind me."

"If we rule out Zhang Wanqiao and Wang Dada first, I later changed into my employee uniform and found the employee handbook, which violated the rules, so I followed the prompts and picked up a knife to cut open a red vegetable."

"Then I took a picture and uploaded it to the big screen." Shi Xin's expression was tense. He seemed to know why he couldn't get out and was just waiting for Mingqiao's answer.

"We have no problem." Mingqiao sighed softly and turned his head to look at Zhang Wanqiao and Wang Dada who were having dinner not far away: "Could that be them?"

"Um."

Shi Xin walked a step slower and fell behind Ming Qiao. He thought this man was really amazing. He looked quiet, but he could remain calm and think calmly with others. He had clear thinking, was mature and stable, and very charming.

Shi Xin's lips curled up, then immediately dropped.

It's a pity that now is not the time to exchange feelings. Maybe later, when I get out, it would be nice to make friends with Mingqiao.

Mingqiao quickly walked to the table where Zhang Wanqiao and Wang Dada were sitting and sat down opposite them.

The two of them each got a plate of rice and were eating.

Zhang Wanqiao chewed slowly, checking her phone from time to time.

"Mr. Ming, why is there no signal on my phone?"

"We are isolated in a space. Now even if you can get out of here, there is no signal outside. I tried it." Ming Qiao said.

Wang Dada still had a mouthful of rice in his mouth, which made his cheeks bulge out. He looked carefree and carefree. He probably thought it was a huge magic show, so he didn't care at all.

Mingqiao found the opportunity when Zhang Wanqiao was swallowing her food and said, "Teacher Zhang, I need to know something from you."

"Oh, why are you so formal?" Zhang Wanqiao had almost finished eating, put down her bowl and chopsticks, wiped her mouth with a tissue and looked at him: "Ask."

"Why are you having dinner with Wang Dada?"

"He stopped me after school and said that no one was home for lunch and asked if I could take him to eat." Zhang Wanqiao looked at Wang Dada who was wolfing down his food and smiled softly, "I thought that no one was home for lunch and I was too lazy to cook, so I just brought him to the restaurant for a meal."

Mingqiao didn't hear anything wrong, so he continued to ask, "Did you meet anyone on the way to the restaurant, or did anything strange happen?"

Zhang Wanqiao held her chin and tilted her head to think for a while: "There are no strange people, but on the way to the cafeteria, we didn't see a single student. Logically, there should be students coming out of the cafeteria after lunch at this time. At least there are students who stay in the playground to play basketball every noon, so there shouldn't be no one here."

Mingqiao recalled the empty and quiet corridor when he just came out of the office in the morning, and it seemed to be a similar situation.

"When we arrived at the cafeteria, I saw a notice hanging on the outer wall. But Wang Dada was in a hurry to come in to eat and didn't take a closer look." Zhang Wanqiao continued.

"The red notice?"

"Yes." Zhang Wanqiao nodded: "It's very dazzling. My eyes hurt when I see that red color. It's very strange. It's just an ordinary red color, why does it cause such a big irritation to the eyes."

"So you didn't read the notice carefully and walked straight into the restaurant." Mingqiao tapped the table rhythmically. "And then you saw Shi Xin? He was sitting alone eating, and you walked over to say hello to him."

"Yes." Zhang Wanqiao said, "I was just wondering why there was no one in the restaurant, and then I saw him sitting alone. I thought I'd say hello while getting my food so it wouldn't seem so lonely, but you suddenly appeared out of nowhere after we'd just talked for a few words."

Mingqiao closed his eyes and quickly went over what happened during that period of time in his mind.

As soon as he was taken away, Zhang Wanqiao and Wang Dada came in. And in his opinion, the time he was trapped in the barrel had passed for a long time, but in reality it was just a few casual chats.

The flow of time is wrong, which is similar to the time going back in the office.

"Did you hear the door and window slamming together before you came in?" Mingqiao asked suddenly.

Zhang Wanqiao shook her head: "No."

"Then you didn't see the environment gradually getting darker?"

Zhang Wanqiao shook her head again: "No." She was afraid that she had not noticed, so she specifically asked Wang Dada next to her. Wang Dada also shook his head and gave a negative answer.

"I heard the sound of attack you mentioned, but there was no gradual darkness." Shi Xin sat next to Ming Qiao and said, "Before you left, my eyes only went dark for a moment, faster than the blink of an eye."

"They should have been very close to the restaurant at the time, so it's impossible that they didn't hear it, which means that only people who were originally in the environment could notice it." Ming Qiao said, "More obvious changes, such as the environment gradually getting darker, can only be noticed by the person being punished."

"You can say that." Shi Xin agreed with this reasoning: "Then have you discovered the problems with the two of them?"

"No." Ming Qiao shook his head: "They didn't break any rules. Although they didn't read the notice at the door, that notice didn't require them to read it."

"Teacher Ming," Wang Dada, who had finally finished his meal, raised his head and wiped his mouth with the sleeve of his school uniform: "You said it was the school that had the problem, why do you always doubt whether what people did was right or wrong."

Mingqiao and Shixin were both stunned.

They are indeed constantly looking for problems in themselves, trying to find ways to verify what they did right here and what they did wrong there, and how to correct their mistakes and abide by the rules.

But what if the environment was wrong from the beginning?

"Let's split up," Mingqiao suggested.

"Then I'll take Wang Dada to the second floor." Zhang Wanqiao said.

"I'll go to the third floor." Mingqiao said to Shi Xin, "I always feel that the person who opened the card for us is not right. I have to go and see it myself."

"I'll stay on the first floor." Shi Xin said, "Most of the things I'm facing now are on the first floor. I'll take a look."

"OK."

In this way, the four of them were divided into three teams, each exploring the three floors of the cafeteria. They agreed that whoever found something special would shout loudly immediately.

Mingqiao walked quickly up the stairs to the third floor, but was immediately shocked by the scene before him.

There are many people gathered here, of all kinds, men and women, they are all wearing white staff uniforms and are busy working.

Mingqiao thought he was dazzled, but after calming down he realized that it was not the case.

Just as he was about to turn around and go downstairs to tell his companions about the strangeness here, someone covered his mouth from behind and tied his hands and feet.

The employees who were originally working were now staring at him, as if he were a dead person, with empty eyes and livid faces. Being stared at by dozens of pairs of eyes like this, Mingqiao's heart was about to jump out of his throat.

He really couldn't describe such a scene. He felt like he had arrived at the eighteenth level of hell and was about to face the most cruel torture.

The old man who had helped them to apply for the card slowly walked out from the crowd and stood in front of Mingqiao.

"Why don't you work?"

Hearing this voice again, Mingqiao's hair stood on end.

He clenched his fists and squeezed his palms together, forcing himself to stay calm.

"Why! Don't! Work!!"

The old man was getting closer and closer to Ming Bridge. His roar sounded like the harsh sound of brakes, which made people's ears tinnitus.

Mingqiao could even clearly see the wrinkles on the man's face and the pair of terrifying eyes.

"Why should I work?" Mingqiao clenched his teeth and asked word by word with a voice forced out of his throat.
