Chapter 67

Mingqiao's usual gentleness and politeness disappeared when Sun Guiping and the others mentioned Shi Xin.

His face was filled with rage. He walked quickly to Sun Guiping and looked down at the little old man who was only as tall as his shoulders.

"Threat me?" Mingqiao knew Shi Xin, and he also knew himself. He lowered his voice and pronounced every word very clearly: "He and I are not afraid of being threatened by others."

Sun Guiping was shocked by Mingqiao's overwhelming momentum and took a few steps back. He looked at Mingqiao in shock, then quickly sat down in front of his computer.

Mingqiao had no idea what he was up to, and subconsciously wanted to go over to see, but was stopped by Lao Jiang beside him and could not move.

"Sun Guiping!"

The cursor flickered in an input box, and Sun Guiping typed Mingqiao's name into it with trembling hands.

Several columns of code automatically appeared on the computer screen. Mingqiao watched as his blue T-shirt was instantly changed into a white shirt, and his casual shorts turned into straight suit pants. Then, he took a few steps uncontrollably and stopped beside Sun Guiping.

"Teacher Sun." Ming Qiao's lips trembled slightly. He wanted to scold Sun Guiping. He tried his best to restrain himself from being controlled, but when he politely called out the three words "Teacher Sun", it meant that he had failed.

Sun Guiping said he had changed, but in Mingqiao's eyes, this teacher whom he loved and respected the most had not changed either. He thought Sun Guiping would devote his life to research and become a pure scholar, but when he sat here and used autocracy to "reform" and "select" these students, all his sincerity was thrown behind his mind.

Mingqiao lowered his head and clenched his fists, silently fighting against the consciousness that was becoming increasingly blurred and out of control.

"Your good student~" The old principal glanced at Mingqiao and sneered, "I said you should have controlled him early, but you refused to do so and even argued with me and fought with me. Now you are fine, right?"

"He is my most obedient student." Sun Guiping was so angry that he couldn't speak. His cheeks bulged. After a long while, he finally said something. He pointed at the old principal and cursed: "It was my fault that I recommended him to you. You made a good child of mine change his temper."

"You are always right." The old principal first glanced at the watch on his wrist, then quickly tapped his fingers on the keyboard, controlling Mingqiao to take the work card from Lao Jiang's hand.

Mingqiao came to Grade 12 in a daze.

He was a deputy invigilator, and the main invigilation responsibilities were borne by the chief invigilator. He had nothing to do, so he wandered around in the aisle unconsciously.

There was a large empty space next to the trash can in the corner. He felt empty and felt as if something was missing when he stood there.

The first day of exams ended quickly. The students all followed the rules consciously. No one made trouble and no one died. Everything was normal except that no one got full marks.

Mingqiao naturally breathed a sigh of relief and returned to the office.

The layout here is very different from the previous ones. It is split in the middle into a marking area and a rest area. Most of the teachers who are not qualified to be invigilators are in the marking area. The assembly line they form is the busiest in the office - because it only takes ten minutes from collecting the papers to issuing the scores.

The rest area is just as the name suggests. As long as you lie down in your seat, close your eyes, and open them again, it will be the next morning.

Mingqiao stood at the door of the office with his back against the door.

His limbs drove him to his seat, but he was still a little clear-headed. He felt that he had to stand there and witness the end of the day and the beginning of the next day. He was really afraid that all this was just a few strings of code from Sun Guiping and the principal. The unreality of the virtual game frightened him.

This was the only time that Mingqiao successfully controlled his body that day. He was not controlled back to his seat by another consciousness system, but was nailed to the spot.

This was a rare surprise for him.

If things continued like this, he would be able to control himself for longer and longer periods of time. As long as he could get rid of the control, even for a moment, he could give Shi Xin a hint. Ming Qiao was confident that they had a tacit understanding, and that the other party would understand what he was thinking, and then help him accomplish what he wanted but couldn't accomplish.

Mingqiao is now certain that what Lao Jiang said to him at the library gate in the morning were basically lies, but his coming here is not entirely without benefits. At least he has confirmed that it was Sun Guiping and the old principal who were playing tricks. As for how to end all this, he probably has to start with their computers.

But before this major main task, he must first stop the exam from going on.

Although Mingqiao was basically in a trance the whole day, he still tried hard to recall today's exam.

The subject was Chinese, and the whole day was spent on Chinese. Not only did the subject not change, even the questions did not change. The corrected test papers had to be handed back to the students again and again, asking them to "re-do it".

This exam is really weird.

Just like “practice makes perfect”, students can make the test paper perfect by constantly correcting their mistakes.

Mingqiao's deep brows sank.

This routine gave him a familiar feeling, he must have learned it or seen it somewhere.

One that is about education, and one that involves repeated attempts to reduce errors.

Is it Thorndike's hungry cat experiment?

Both similar and unlike.

Even if it was indeed a hungry cat experiment, Mingqiao did not think that this kind of repeated exams would help these students. First, they had not prepared for the exam, and second, they could not obtain a constantly innovative source of knowledge in the exam. Repeating the knowledge points on the test paper meaninglessly did not seem to conform to the mechanism of this experiment.

Mingqiao stayed awake all night with this guess in mind, until the next morning when he was controlled again and brought to the largest office in the teaching building.

Sun Guiping and the old principal sat at the front row in high spirits, watching the teachers line up in an orderly manner like puppets and then take their seats.

The old principal coughed twice into the microphone to test his voice. "Good morning, teachers. Our school is committed to becoming one of the top middle schools in the city. While providing students with a comfortable learning environment and atmosphere, we aim to cultivate talents and focus on the development of students' good qualities."

It's in the teacher's manual.

Mingqiao bit the tip of his tongue hard until he tasted blood. When the intense pain swept through his brain, his consciousness was briefly restored.

He had already read the teacher's manual to pieces in his spare time, but when he thought the old principal would continue reading the contents of the teacher's manual, Sun Guiping clapped the microphone.

A piercing noise was played through the four speakers in the office and it lasted for a while before slowly dying down.

"Good morning, teachers. Please remember every iron rule of exams that I am about to tell you.

1. No talking is allowed during the exam. No matter what grade you are in. (Except for the invigilator)

2. Cheating is prohibited during the exam. Regardless of grade. (The invigilator may make the decision at his/her discretion)

Please ask all teachers to strictly require students to abide by the rules, otherwise they will bear the consequences (including but not limited to death). "

This is a set of rules that are completely applicable to exams, which traps students in a cage where they seem unable to do anything except "study the exam questions seriously".

Mingqiao came late yesterday and didn't hear any of this.

"Are you awake?" A voice suddenly came, ringing in Mingqiao's ears: "Don't turn your head to look at me, you will be discovered."

Hearing the voice, Mingqiao knew it was Zhang Tao, who had been his partner in supervising the exam yesterday.

"Are you awake?" Mingqiao asked back.

"Yes." Zhang Tao whispered, "You can ask me if you have any questions."

Mingqiao looked at Sun Guiping who was still speaking at the front and asked him in a low voice: "Proctors also need to abide by the rules, right? What are they?"

"You know a lot." Zhang Tao laughed softly, "Don't help students, and don't tell them any rules, or you will die."

Mingqiao pursed his lips.

The rules that are exclusive to students are not told to the students, but teachers are asked to "help" students to follow them. Moreover, according to the teacher's manual, teachers should help students with any problems, but the current situation is completely the opposite.

Before he could ask the next question, Zhang Tao took the initiative to say, "The chief invigilator holds the power of life and death over the deputy invigilators and students."

"Then how can I become the chief invigilator?"

Zhang Tao thought for a moment and said, "Maybe, I can become the principal's loyal lackey?"
