Chapter 101 (1)

Zhou Peiyu's excitement lasted for three days.

Unfortunately, the filming process was indeed not as interesting as Wan Qiu said on the phone.

The process of constant repetition, modification, exploration, and refinement is arduous and tedious.

But Zhou Peiyu always manages to find something interesting to do even when he's bored.

"Can I wear all of these clothes?" Zhou Peiyu asked Zhao Xinghua, her eyes sparkling as she saw a large pile of clothes in the prop room of the film crew.

“Okay, wear it.” Zhao Xinghua replied.

The clothes themselves were mostly worn by extras.

"Wanqiu!" Zhou Peiyu grabbed Wanqiu's shoulder, extremely excited. "Let's do it!"

Wan Qiu had been with the film crew for a long time, but he had never once considered these clothes.

Zhou Peiyu, on the other hand, wished he could wear all the clothes on.

Zhou Peiyu chose her favorite pink outfit, put it on and refused to take it off, and even tried to find clothes for Wanqiu.

Wanqiu stood to the side, bewildered, like a doll being dressed up.

Chu Yigui leaned against the side, keeping her head down while attending online classes, only occasionally glancing up at Wan Qiu after she had changed her clothes.

Because Wan Qiu is slender, many men's clothes look too big on her.

However, if you use the women's version, it fits perfectly but looks a bit short.

"Wanqiu, your legs aren't short at all, that's great." Zhou Peiyu had always only thought that Wanqiu was short and hadn't paid much attention to Wanqiu's body proportions.

"Is this a good thing?" Wan Qiu asked.

"Of course it's a good thing, it looks great." Zhou Peiyu said with a frown, "You usually dress up so beautifully, I don't know why you look a bit cheap in these clothes."

Wan Qiu didn't understand what Zhou Peiyu meant by "feeling".

“My clothes are usually prepared for me by my mother or the housekeeper,” Wan Qiu said.

Zhou Peiyu stroked his chin: "No wonder, they are all professionals, they can't compare."

The makeup artist on the side was eager to try it out: "How about I try it out and see?"

Zhao Xinghua twitched her lips. Why was everyone playing this game?

When Wanqiu was tidied up and even put on a wig, she stood in front of the mirror and was stunned for a moment.

Wan Qiu always thought that Chu Zhang's appearance was so different because he wore those kinds of clothes.

But Wanqiu discovered that a set of clothes can also change a person's image.

Wan Qiu was wearing a bright yellow robe with colorful cloud patterns woven into the fabric.

Although Wanqiu was thin, the intricate patterns made her appear more substantial than she actually was.

"Great job, very professional." Zhou Peiyu and the makeup artist gave each other a high five.

"Young Master Chu San actually looks quite noble. Those eyes of his make him look like an innocent young master who doesn't know the ways of the world," the makeup artist and Zhou Peiyu chatted on.

"No, no, no, that's not contrasting enough!" Zhou Peiyu shook his head. "Wan Qiu is better suited to a seemingly innocent but actually cunning persona! That's more appealing!"

Wanqiu, holding her long clothes, looked quite bewildered.

After the crew took a break, Chu Zhang couldn't find Zhao Xinghua. He called her and found out that they had all gathered in the props room.

Chu Zhang curiously reached out and immediately spotted the bright yellow little angel.

Chu Zhang was stunned.

"Brother Chu Zhang!" Zhou Peiyu called out to Chu Zhang after Wan Qiu, "Look, I've taken so many photos of Wan Qiu!"

At this moment, Chu Zhang almost completely abandoned his idol image and moved closer to Zhou Peiyu, craning his neck to look at Zhou Peiyu's phone.

Zhou Peiyu showed Chu Zhang the photos she had carefully taken, one by one.

Honestly, these photos are very unprofessional.

Even without professional knowledge, one can still glimpse their endearing charm.

Chu Zhang said, "Could you send me all of these photos later?"

"Of course, no problem!" Zhou Peiyu excitedly gave a thumbs up.

Chu Zhang went to see Wan Qiu.

Wan Qiu must have been exhausted from all the torment. He was sitting in a chair, looking longingly at Chu Zhang.

When Chu Zhang saw this outfit, he remembered the scene where it had appeared.

She was a wealthy but insignificant character who appeared at the night market; her clothes were particularly flamboyant, just to show off her extravagance.

But because it was Wanqiu, this extravagance was transformed into elegance.

Chu Zhang was itching to try it.

"Wanqiu, how about you and your older brother act out a short skit?"

Wan Qiu nodded.

Wan Qiu felt that Chu Zhang seemed to be filled with anticipation.

"Aren't you tired?" Zhao Xinghua asked, somewhat surprised.

"It's not easy to see our Wanqiu being this cute. I think I'll regret it later if I don't do something to commemorate it!" Chu Zhang said seriously.

"..." Zhao Xinghua was disgusted by Chu Zhang's unbridled and undisguised brother-complex behavior.

"Wanqiu, Wanqiu, come and take a look at this." Chu Zhang found the original location of this scene in the script. "Zhou Peiyu, how about trying out a duet? You can play the female lead?"

Zhou Peiyu was taken aback.

An excited scream.

"Brother Zhao, could you ask the photographer to work overtime? I'll pay you!" Chu Zhang grinned at Zhao Xinghua.

Zhao Xinghua covered her face wearily.

Although Chu Zhang wanted to take photos, he only wanted to record some interesting moments.

He just wanted to record this moment in high definition.

The photographer came over with his equipment, but remained expressionless when he saw this childish scene.

Wan Qiu and Zhou Peiyu also read that short section of the script.

"Go home and sleep after the performance. Just do whatever you want, as long as it's fun!" Chu Zhang also tidied up his clothes.

Zhao Xinghua stroked his chin, feeling that if the filming went well, it might have a chance to be released as an interesting promotional clip in the future.

The prerequisite is that Chu Zhang agrees to Wan Qiu leaving the country.

With nothing to do, Zhao Xinghua sat down next to Chu Yigui, watching the three of them enthusiastically discuss the script, and then turned his head to look at Chu Yigui.

Although he knew that Chu Yigui had been taking online classes all day with nothing to do, he glanced at it and felt something was wrong, so he stared at Chu Yigui's online classes for a few more minutes.

Zhao Xinghua fell into deep thought. After all, he was a graduate of a top university, and he couldn't even understand what kind of online class Chu Yigui was taking.

Are junior high school students already learning to this extent these days?

"That's enough." Chu Zhang suddenly closed the script.

Zhou Peiyu wailed, "I haven't memorized it yet!"

"There's no need to memorize them; just improvise your lines."

Chu Zhang looked down at Wan Qiu, who was also somewhat flustered, and tapped Wan Qiu's head with his finger.

"It's just for fun, to make you laugh. Remember playing house when you were a kid? Something like that will do."

Wan Qiu's eyes remained fixed on Chu Zhang until he finally nodded.

The photographer, expressionless, turned on the camera: "Action! We're starting!"

Chu Zhang immediately adopted the aloof and dignified demeanor of an immortal, while Zhou Peiyu, upon standing in front of the camera, instantly became stammering, seemingly unsure of what to do.

This short scene is very simple; it's just a small conflict between Wan Qiu, a spoiled rich kid, and the female protagonist. The spoiled rich kid mocks the poor female protagonist for not having family to love her, and then makes the female protagonist feel wronged.

"Do you think your family can protect you for life?" With great difficulty, Zhou Peiyu managed to read this line aloud.

"Of course, my parents owe me a lot. They gave birth to me so they could pay off their debt!"

Wan Qiu's voice suddenly reached everyone's ears clearly.

Zhao Xinghua subconsciously raised an eyebrow, surprisingly finding Wan Qiu's delivery of the line quite good, even though it was a significant departure from the original script.

Chu Yigui paused her online class, took off her headphones, and looked towards the filming location.

"You don't know how to be grateful to your parents for the good life they've given you, and you still feel like they owe you something?"

Zhou Peiyu was actually provoked by Wan Qiu's words and his reading became slightly overly emotional.

“Their things are my things, and it’s only right that they let me use them. Without parents, I’m destined to live a poor life. Did they bring me into this world just so I could live a poor life?”

"They don't care about me, so they have to give me money to spend."

"What do they have to be sad about!"

Surprisingly, Wan Qiu delivered his lines very smoothly.

After a few words back and forth, Zhou Peiyu was completely enraged.

She even got so angry that she put her hands on her hips and completely forgot about her innocent female lead persona, and started arguing with Wan Qiu.

Zhou Peiyu: "I gave birth to you and gave you a good life, but you don't know how to cherish it."

Wan Qiu: "I never asked them to give birth to me. If they did, they have to take responsibility for me!"

Zhou Peiyu: "That's no reason for you to blame them!"

Wan Qiu: "They abandoned me when I was growing up, and now they expect me to thank them?!"

Zhao Xinghua stood up; he didn't remember these lines being in the script.

Zhou Peiyu's voice was getting higher and higher.

They've really started arguing.

Zhou Peiyu wasn't really into the role, but Wan Qiu was completely immersed in it. The script didn't give this minor character so much background information.

This angered Zhou Peiyu.

Zhao Xinghua was almost at a loss for words, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

Where is Chu Zhang? Why isn't he stopping it at this point?

Zhao Xinghua wanted to step forward to stop him, but first glanced at Chu Zhang.

Chu Zhang stared blankly at Wan Qiu.

Zhao Xinghua frowned, vaguely sensing that something was amiss.

Something seems off.

Chu Zhang looked at Wan Qiu with a mixture of unfamiliarity, confusion, inquiry, and even... some fear.

Zhao Xinghua stepped forward and entered the cameraman's field of vision. The cameraman was taken aback and didn't know whether he should stop filming.

"Alright, alright, don't be angry. Have you forgotten you're acting? Why are you arguing?" Zhao Xinghua stepped between the two.

Zhou Peiyu, who was arguing until he was red in the face and out of breath, suddenly remembered something and was stunned.

He looked at Zhao Xinghua, then at Wan Qiu.

She instantly clutched her cheeks in shock: "I actually got angry, huh?"

At this moment, Wan Qiu peeked out from behind Zhao Xinghua, looking blankly at Zhou Peiyu, who was on the verge of a breakdown.

Zhao Xinghua turned to look at Wan Qiu and couldn't help but laugh: "What was that all about? Did you add your own scenes? Do you like acting?"

Wan Qiu raised his head and blinked, but seemed not to have found himself again.

Zhao Xinghua lowered his head, looking at Wan Qiu. The young man's face, revealed by his bright yellow clothes, showed a unique fragility, but at this moment...

This reminded Zhao Xinghua of what had just happened.

Wan Qiu's lines are delivered very fluently, which is quite annoying and effectively stirs up anger in others.

But this shouldn't happen to Wanqiu.

Zhao Xinghua vaguely sensed that the atmosphere was strange. He looked up and saw that everyone was looking at him.

And the most undeniable aspect is the gaze of Chu Zhang and Chu Yigui.

Very...

Dazzling.

Suddenly, Chu Zhang's laughter broke the silence.

Chu Zhang laughed, clutching his stomach, before leaning closer to the camera: "Oh my, I thought you guys were just good actors, but I didn't expect you to actually be arguing? I was saying that with this kind of acting skill, you could become child stars, it's unbelievable."

Zhou Peiyu's face was already bright red: "I...I didn't mean to, Wan Qiu's lines just now were too infuriating."

Wan Qiu gripped her clothes tightly with a somewhat helpless expression: "I'm sorry."

"No, no, I mean you did a great job."

Zhou Peiyu stepped forward and patted Wan Qiu on the shoulder.

"Amazing! As expected of Chu Zhang's younger brother! Is this what they call being drawn into the role?"

Because of Chu Zhang's laughter, the entire space regained its original harmonious atmosphere.

If it were really filming, it definitely wouldn't be possible, since Chu Zhang didn't even appear on screen from beginning to end.

However, Chu Zhang did not request a reshoot.

He simply patted the photographer on the shoulder and told him to send him the document and then remember to delete it completely.

Everyone returned to the hotel happily. Chu Zhang and Zhou Peiyu were both cheerful people, and the atmosphere in the van was great.

Zhao Xinghua just felt the atmosphere was very subtle.

The assistant was driving, and he was sitting in the passenger seat.

Always look at the back seat through the rearview mirror.

Chu Yigui sat next to Wan Qiu, holding Wan Qiu's hand the whole time.

Chu Zhang was clearly exhausted after a day of filming, but he was unusually excited, which was not normal.

"Alright, alright, go back to sleep." Chu Zhang put his arm around Wan Qiu's shoulder and said to Zhou Peiyu, "If you want to have a late-night snack, just book room service and put it all on... Brother Zhao's tab."

"Thank you, Brother Chu Zhang! You are truly the most approachable celebrity I have ever met! It's clear that people of different status are different!"

Zhou Peiyu made no attempt to hide his praise for Chu Zhang.

"You two go too." Chu Zhang pushed Wan Qiu and Chu Yigui back into the room. "Get a good night's sleep!"

Zhao Xinghua watched as Chu Zhang pushed the two of them into the room and even helped them close the door.

Zhao Xinghua noticed that Wan Qiu seemed to be trying to stop Chu Zhang, but Chu Zhang dodged her seemingly unintentionally.

If Zhao Xinghua could see Wan Qiu's confusion and disappointment, how could Chu Zhang not see it?

It's rare for Chu Zhang to overlook Wan Qiu's emotions.

Following behind Chu Zhang, Zhao Xinghua entered Chu Zhang's room.

Normally, Zhao Xinghua would just leave.

After closing the door, Zhao Xinghua looked at Chu Zhang.

Chu Zhang collapsed onto the sofa in the room.

Then……

He let out a long sigh of relief.

Zhao Xinghua: "???"

Chu Zhang grabbed his hair several times and rubbed his arms, his face full of lingering fear and disbelief.

"My God, my God, I'm getting goosebumps. It's terrifying. Wanqiu is so scary."

Chu Zhang shrank his neck while exaggerating his fear.

Zhao Xinghua thought Chu Zhang was joking.

But when he saw Chu Zhang's genuinely terrified expression, and even the cold sweat on his face, his heart skipped a beat.

"Wha...what's wrong? What happened to you?"

Zhao Xinghua couldn't figure out what was so scary about Wan Qiu.

"It's terrifying! Wanqiu... Wanqiu actually said something like that! I was scared out of my wits!"

Seeing that Chu Zhang was indeed trembling, Zhao Xinghua realized the seriousness of the situation.

"What exactly happened?" Zhao Xinghua asked seriously.

"You saw what Wanqiu looked like, didn't you?" Chu Zhang asked.

Zhao Xinghua nodded; what had just happened was actually quite shocking.

The crew has witnessed firsthand what kind of person Wan Qiu is over this period of time; those words are simply unimaginable coming from Wan Qiu.

Chu Zhang reached up and brushed a stray hair from his forehead, his expression suddenly enlightened.

"If Wanqiu really is that kind of child, what should I do?" Chu Zhang suddenly asked. "What will happen to our family?"

Suddenly, Zhao Xinghua understood something.

Chu Zhang was unable to express to Zhao Xinghua how he felt when he saw Wan Qiu say those words.

Those words, spoken without regard for those around them, and even without a care for hurting their own family members, if they really came from Wan Qiu…

What kind of impact will this have on the Chu family?

A tiny flame was placed inside a sealed space filled with dust.

An instantaneous explosion and shattering.

Zhao Xinghua sat down next to Chu Zhang and patted him on the back.

"Isn't this something that never happened? It's just acting."

Chu Zhang seemed to have calmed down a bit, leaning back on the sofa listlessly.

"I was so anxious to go back and see Wanqiu because I was afraid that this kind of thing would happen."

"Hmm." Zhao Xinghua still remembered how anxious Chu Zhang was back then, even arguing with the entire crew. It wasn't just being willful; he was genuinely unable to control his emotions.

"It's so wonderful that Wanqiu is the Wanqiu we know now," Chu Zhang murmured.

Because I actually met Wanqiu, held Wanqiu's hand, and felt him.

A soul as gentle, comfortable, and natural as flowing water, so clear it could almost illuminate the gloomy mansion.

Even the cold air was tinged with a faint, milky candy-like fragrance.

That's why Chu Zhang felt relieved.

However, after feeling relieved, Chu Zhang never considered the possibility that Wan Qiu might be something else.

But what is the reality?

Seeing Wan Qiu today, Chu Zhang realized how much he feared Wan Qiu, who was filled with resentment, disdain, and indifference towards them.

He witnessed Wanqiu say those words with his own eyes.

It was as if facing the last supporting beam that was barely holding it up. The huge, magnificent, dilapidated building was rotten, destroyed, and collapsed, disappearing in an instant.

"It's not real, thank goodness! I was so scared! My God, I was terrified by Wan Qiu's acting!"

Chu Zhang kept repeating it, saying it aloud made him feel much better.

"Alright, alright, you're an actor yourself, why are you scared by those extras?" Zhao Xinghua soothed Chu Zhang's emotions.

This seemingly carefree but actually emotionally sensitive man.

When Chu Zhang throws a tantrum, he howls like a cat in heat.

Zhao Xinghua, however, showed more patience than usual.

With great difficulty, Chu Zhang calmed down a little.

He sighed and said, "I keep thinking about what would have happened if Wanqiu hadn't been lost."

Zhao Xinghua thought for a moment and replied, "Maybe it won't be like this?"

Chu Zhang glanced at Zhao Xinghua indifferently, as if he were looking down on his intelligence.

"Then you tell me?" Zhao Xinghua choked on his words.

"I don't know, but based on my understanding of my parents, I'm afraid Wanqiu won't learn anything good under their tutelage," Chu Zhang said, stroking his chin.

Zhao Xinghua's expression was subtle: "How worried are you about your parents' personalities?"

"I'm just worried!" Chu Zhang expressed his undisguised feelings about the chaotic family he saw. "I really think it's an angel descended from heaven that Wanqiu has grown up like this. I'm not using an adjective, it's true, an angel descended from heaven!"

Zhao Xinghua's eyelids twitched: "You still believe in God?"

"Tsk, you don't understand." Chu Zhang said with a look of disdain.

Whether it's Chu Jianshu, Yang Xiaoyu, or him and Yang Ze.

They each have their own personality flaws, which are difficult to correct.

"Waaaaah, angel turned into demon! No! It's too scary! Don't let me see that video again..."

Although Chu Zhang really wanted to say that he didn't want it anymore, he couldn't bear to do it when he thought of Wan Qiu's beautiful appearance in ancient costume.

Zhao Xinghua had no idea what Chu Zhang was thinking.

Finally, he just patted Chu Zhang on the shoulder and said, "Alright, if it's nothing else, then forget it. You're so jumpy, it's scary."

“Those who aren’t family won’t understand.” Chu Zhang stared at Zhao Xinghua with deadpan eyes.

Zhao Xinghua sighed: "But Wan Qiu's personality does seem to be quite good now."

After saying that, Zhao Xinghua noticed Chu Zhang's smile.

"That's a little angel," Chu Zhang said proudly.

He tilted his head and looked ahead, his smile gentle, a look he often sported on screen.

Aloof yet gentle, her appearance and talent are a gift from the world, sculpted by her own hand.

Zhao Xinghua rarely saw Chu Zhang show such an expression on a normal day; most of the time, he seemed somewhat neurotic.

At this very moment, Zhao Xinghua was also thinking about it.

Is it because Chu Zhang is deliberately acting neurotic?

How can we bring some life to that lifeless home?

Nothing can operate at full tension without maintenance or relaxation.

Chu Zhang is like a string on a zither.

It produces a beautiful sound, playing the most melodious tune with tension.

But no one knows how worn he has become.

I don't know when it will break.

If that's the case, then Wanqiu's return should be a sign that Chu Zhang can relax.

No wonder Chu Zhang was so sensitive to Wan Qiu.

——

Wan Qiu sensed something when Chu Zhang left.

His older brother is unhappy.

A deep sense of unhappiness pervaded the air, like muddy ground, and Chu Zhang seemed to be standing in the mud, utterly disheveled.

Wan Qiu tried to stop Chu Zhang, but he was unintentionally evaded.

Wan Qiu couldn't find a chance to stop Chu Zhang immediately, and could only watch as Chu Zhang closed his door.

Standing at the door, Wan Qiu wanted to reopen it, but Chu Zhang had already closed it.

My older brother has probably already left.

Wanqiu stood at the door, unable to do anything.

"Brother." Suddenly, Chu Yigui's voice broke Wan Qiu's daze.

Wan Qiu turned around and looked at Chu Yigui, whose younger brother also seemed somewhat unhappy.

What happened? Everything was fine before.

"Brother, when you were acting with Zhou Peiyu, those lines weren't in the script. How did you come up with those lines?"

Chu Yigui knew very well that Wan Qiu herself could not have come up with those words.

Wanqiu rarely goes online; everything he has access to comes from the people around him.

Without a large amount of information, Wanqiu hasn't even touched on enough negative aspects.

Wan Qiu spoke those words too fluently, as if they had been thought through.

Chu Yigui took Wan Qiu's hand and led her into the room.

In the quiet hotel room at night, in the dim light of the not-fully-lit room, Chu Yigui kept staring at Wan Qiu.

Wan Qiu said something that Chu Yigui didn't understand.

“I saw it,” Wan Qiu said. “When I was reading the script, the content on the script was very similar to what I had seen before.”

Chu Yigui frowned: "Where did you see it before, brother?"

Chu Yigui did not recall any similar articles in Wan Qiu's reading materials.

“…In my memory, there are many words, so many.” Wan Qiu said.

Words from memory?

"What kind of script is it? Can you tell me?" Chu Yigui vaguely sensed that something important was being unearthed by him.

Wan Qiu opened her mouth, as if instinctively wanting to explain something to him.

However, Chu Yigui saw that Wan Qiu had stopped speaking and was now silent, with his head lowered.

In a daze, Chu Yigui caught a glimpse of the box once again.

The box that Wan Qiu secretly hid away, unknown to anyone, yet firmly guarded by Wan Qiu.

That was something Wanqiu had never allowed anyone to touch.

Even he couldn't get Wan Qiu to open her heart and open this box.

"It's okay, brother, it's fine even if you don't tell me."

Chu Yigui reached out and grasped Wan Qiu's hand, then leaned on Wan Qiu's shoulder.

"Everyone has their own secrets, and my brother can have them too."

Chu Yigui had no interest in prying into other people's privacy.

Wanqiu's concealment made him feel somewhat anxious.

When observing others, Chu Yigui always had more time to analyze and understand from an outsider's perspective.

But the person who understands you best is yourself, and the person who is hardest to understand is also yourself.

Chu Yigui had no idea what he was anxious about.

It's just that emotion and reason are locked in a struggle, neither gaining the upper hand.

Wan Qiu felt that Chu Yigui was probably somewhat disappointed.

But Wanqiu couldn't bring herself to talk about her memories.

As before, Wanqiu guarded these malicious memories, unwilling to let them burst forth.

But it seems that his younger brother was a little unhappy because of this.

Wan Qiu hesitated for a moment, then withdrew his hand from Chu Yigui's palm and placed it on the back of Chu Yigui's hand.

This is something that cannot be said.

But if it's a younger brother...

Just a little bit, just a little bit.

"It's a lot of text."

Wan Qiu was unwilling to tell Chu Yigui any more.

However, this does not apply if it involves texts filled with filth and pain.

"These are very unhappy words."

Chu Yigui leaned on Wanqiu's shoulder, but Wanqiu couldn't see his younger brother's expression.

It was as if she was deliberately preventing him from seeing it.

But for some reason, his brother seemed to relax his shoulders when he finished speaking.

The faint, lingering feeling that couldn't be completely eliminated gradually dissipated a little.

Wan Qiu heard Chu Yigui's voice and spoke slowly in his ear.

"Thank you, brother."

Wan Qiu didn't know why Chu Yigui was thanking him.

However, Wan Qiu felt that Chu Yigui was no longer as unapproachable as before.

——

While Wanqiu was washing up in the morning, there was a constant knocking on the door.

Wan Qiu heard Chu Yigui open the door.

"Where's Wanqiu?!" Zhou Peiyu's voice quickly reached Wanqiu's ears.

Wan Qiu immediately sped up her washing and grooming process.

At the same time, Chu Zhang's voice came from the doorway: "What are you doing here so early?"

Wanqiu blinked.

Big brother?

Chu Zhang doesn't usually travel with them; their schedules didn't match up when they were filming at the scenic spot once.

They're currently inside the film studio, and the journey isn't far. Wan Qiu and Chu Yigui usually wash up before they set off.

Wan Qiu found it strange that Chu Zhang would appear here so early.

"I'm going home tomorrow afternoon, and before that I want to film a video with Wanqiu."

Zhou Peiyu was clearly much more excited by Chu Zhang's sudden appearance.

"What video?" Chu Zhang seemed a little curious as well.

"The video of me dancing in the movie theater, I even borrowed the costume from a male classmate in the dance studio who had participated in competitions."

Chu Zhang looked down and saw the black performance costume in Zhou Peiyu's hand.

Because it's folded up, it's not very clear, but the understated yet gorgeous patterns on the clothes are enough to show the uniqueness of this performance costume.

"Doesn't Wanqiu have a performance costume?" Chu Zhang thought that given Yang Xiaoyu's habits, it was impossible that she wouldn't prepare one for Wanqiu.

"How come he has a performance costume? Wan Qiu probably isn't at a level where he can participate in a performance yet, right?" Zhou Peiyu said without any regard for the consequences.

Although Wan Qiu studied dance diligently, he really didn't have much talent, a fact that Chu Zhang was aware of.

Wan Qiu then poked his head out of the bathroom and stood in front of Zhou Peiyu to look at the black performance costume.

"Wanqiu, try it on!" Zhou Peiyu immediately came up to Wanqiu excitedly. "I borrowed it from the thinnest boy in the class, but I feel it might still be a bit big. I brought a lot of safety pins for you to use. Let's make a video."

Zhou Peiyu immediately unfolded the performance costume in his hand.

What catches Wan Qiu's eye is a black performance costume with understated blue and white accessories, except for a single beautiful feather on her shoulder.

Chu Zhang raised an eyebrow.

He looked at the clothes thoughtfully.

“I even brought my performance outfit.” Zhou Peiyu made a gesture of swaying her skirt in the air. “I’ll get you fixed first, and your hair too, then I’ll go change into my dress.”

"Why didn't you say so yesterday?" Chu Zhang asked Zhou Peiyu.

"Huh? I forgot," Zhou Peiyu said matter-of-factly.

As Zhou Peiyu was about to hand the costume to Wan Qiu, Chu Zhang snatched it away the next moment.

Zhou Peiyu: "???"

“We Wanqiu people don’t wear other people’s clothes,” Chu Zhang said to Zhou Peiyu with a smile.

Zhou Peiyu looked up at Chu Zhang: "Huh? Why? Is it an allergic reaction?"

"Let me see your dress first. I'll go to the stylist and have them make a new outfit for you. Don't worry, it won't be any worse than your performance costume," Chu Zhang said.

Zhou Peiyu thought for a moment, blinked, and looked at Chu Zhang.

"Oh, okay, I also think the color of this outfit doesn't match my skirt."

Wanqiu was completely bewildered.

Wan Qiu followed Chu Zhang to look at Zhou Peiyu's skirt.

The pink costume was a very bright color, as dazzling as a real peacock, with delicate decorations that shimmered with sparkling light.

Wanqiu thought the dress was absolutely gorgeous.

Zhou Peiyu would look absolutely stunning in it.

"Okay, then you can do your makeup. Do you need me to lend you my makeup artist?" Chu Zhang asked.

Zhou Peiyu was clearly surprised: "Can we really use your makeup artist? Can we even do stage makeup?"

“Of course.” Chu Zhang took Wan Qiu’s hand. “Come on, come with your older brother.”

Wan Qiu turned around and looked at Chu Yigui, who had been following closely behind him, looking quite bewildered.

When Zhao Xinghua heard that Chu Zhang was actually asking for leave, he immediately started having a headache. He made several phone calls, but no one answered.

I heard the person was with the stylist, so I rushed over there without stopping.

"Chu Zhang, what kind of trouble are you causing me today?" Zhao Xinghua saw Chu Zhang's back from afar and strode over.

I saw Chu Zhang cutting out a set of clothes with scissors.

And the person wearing this outfit now is actually Wan Qiu.

Wan Qiu looked up at him blankly.

"What are you trying to do now?" Zhao Xinghua's lips twitched.

"Zhou Peiyu said he wanted to design costumes for Wanqiu and film a short video with Wanqiu," Chu Zhang said matter-of-factly.

Zhao Xinghua's temple veins throbbed: "When everyone is busy, do you have to do something so trivial at this crucial moment?"

However, as soon as he said that, Zhao Xinghua's expression changed.

He immediately looked at Wan Qiu and, as expected, saw Wan Qiu's expression gradually realize something after hearing those words.

Zhao Xinghua's heart skipped a beat: "No, Wan Qiu, that's not what I meant. I was just talking about Chu Zhang, not you..."

Zhao Xinghua was also overly sensitive to Chu Zhang's bizarre and unpredictable actions. Every time something happened, the first thing she thought of was that Chu Zhang was up to something.

"It's okay, even if I'm not here for a day, it's fine. Today's filming is mostly about the second male lead."

Surprisingly, Chu Zhang did not argue with Zhao Xinghua today, but spoke calmly.

“Brother Zhao, you should know that I initially entered the entertainment industry for Wanqiu's sake. More important than work is spending time with Wanqiu.”

"I am responsible to my fans and to my work now, but I can't put the cart before the horse. I will work hard and write songs well, but Wanqiu is more important."

Wan Qiu slowly opened his eyes wide, looking at Chu Zhang who was sewing decorations onto his clothes.

Zhao Xinghua and Chu Zhang argued so many times every day, but they never expected that one day they would be speechless.

"Although I'm a troublemaker, Brother Zhao, I've never done anything wrong. I'm very responsible."

Chu Zhang repeatedly compared the decorations beside him to Wan Qiu's body, speaking earnestly and without any thought, his thoughts just slipping out.

“I have always wanted to be a very responsible person, and also to take on the responsibility of taking care of my younger brother. Wanqiu is also my younger brother, and what I am doing now is very important to me.”

Seeing Chu Zhang's unusually serious expression, Zhao Xinghua finally relented: "At least discuss this with me before you talk about it."

"I only found out when I went to find Wan Qiu this morning. I happened to see Zhou Peiyu looking for Wan Qiu with the performance costume."

"Then why did you suddenly go to see Wanqiu today?" Chu Zhang remembered that every morning he would tell Wanqiu to sleep a little longer.

Chu Zhang paused.

Suddenly, something came to mind.

His fingers were trembling.

"Um, Wanqiu, I have a question for you, can you answer me truthfully?" Chu Zhang asked in a trembling voice.

Wan Qiu nodded, waiting for Chu Zhang's question.

"Where did you hear those lines you said yesterday when you were filming with Zhou Peiyu?"

Chu Zhang didn't sleep well all night, constantly wondering where Wan Qiu had heard those words.
