Divination
When Su Fangli saw what was in his hand, she remembered the fortune stick box that she had broken before.
Unexpectedly, He Chenghuan remembered it and found it specifically for her.
She raised her hand and took the chopsticks. The wood was a warm amber color, with rounded edges and a slight warmth to the touch. When she gently shook it, the sound was clear and not muffled.
Both the material and the workmanship are quite in line with her preferences.
"It's just an apology." He Chenghuan explained, "Didn't the divination stick you were using earlier get broken? I thought this one might work, so I brought it over."
His voice was low and full of concern. "I wonder if you like it. If you need anything else, you can tell me."
"Thank you, it's very good." Su Fangli said.
"There may be a spy here, but I will find out as soon as possible. You don't have to worry. Just live peacefully with Grandma Fang." He Chenghuan said again.
Su Fangli: "Do you want me to find out the spy?"
"No." He Chenghuan sighed inwardly: "Actually, I didn't do this to take advantage of you."
As he spoke, he saw the obvious alertness on Su Fangli's face, and a bitter feeling welled up in his heart. He gave up explaining and said, "If it's possible, please help me calculate it, young lady."
"Okay." Su Fangli nodded with relief.
She didn't want to have anything to do with these people, but now she had to stay temporarily, so she could only try her best to exchange one for one, without any loss or debt.
Ye Zhihui didn't understand what the two were talking about, but he didn't get discouraged. He asked in confusion:
"Do these chopsticks have other uses?"
After he asked, he thought carefully about the past few days and said in surprise, "Shaking the hexagrams, could it be used for divination?"
He Chenghuan nodded.
"I was wondering why you suddenly sent people out to look for nanmu the day before yesterday, and why you put down what you were doing and spent the night sharpening chopsticks. So it turns out you have this purpose," Ye Zhihui said. He then changed the subject and asked curiously, "Don't you always say that fortune-tellers are charlatans and should be arrested and thrown into jail?"
He Chenghuan's eyes became a little embarrassed. He cleared his throat and looked away to hide his feelings.
Ye Zhihui ignored him and looked at Su Fangli and said:
"Miss Ah Li, you don't know. Nowadays, because the Imperial Master is so famous, divination is very popular everywhere. Therefore, every family has a few disciples who can tell fortunes. Only this man has locked up those who come to him to offer their services. The question he asks is: Didn't you predict that you would face such a disaster today? How dare you come here without mastering the skills?"
Ye Zhihui spared no effort to discredit He Chenghuan, and came closer and said attentively: "But I am different from him. I believe in fate the most. Only fate can let me meet the girl."
"Miss, can you tell me Ye's marriage fate?"
He said, pulling a chopstick from the stick holder in Sukufangli's hand, "Is that so?"
He spun the chopsticks between his fingers and handed them to Su Fangli.
Ye Zhihui spared no effort to unleash his charm, hoping to see a little surprise in Su Fangli's eyes. But he was disappointed. Su Fangli had no expression on her face and even wanted to laugh.
What can you tell just by pulling out the chopsticks?
"You should have a good rest." He Chenghuan put his hand on Ye Zhihui's shoulder and pulled him away. Before leaving, Ye Zhihui still shouted to Su Fangli: "I'll come to see you later."
After the two left, the atmosphere in the tent suddenly became much more relaxed.
Su Fangli glanced at Grandma Fang and saw that she hadn't woken up yet, so she simply leaned against the bed and looked at the chopstick holder in her hand.
The chopstick holder was also made of nanmu. Su Fangli poured out all the chopsticks inside and counted them.
88 pieces, just enough for her to make a tarot deck.
Along with the chopsticks, a carving knife also fell out.
Su Fangli raised her eyebrows, a little surprised by the man's attentiveness.
The carving knife is heavy but feels good to hold.
Su Fangli lined up the chopsticks in a row, distributed them, and started carving.
A light bulb went off in Su Fangli's head, and he thought: Is it possible to combine modern Tarot with the I Ching hexagrams?
The noisy commotion outside interrupted her thoughts.
She listened, walked to the door of the tent, pulled open the curtain and looked outside.
Not far away a group of people were arguing.
"Miss, do you have any instructions?" A man standing at the door asked when he saw her come out.
Su Fangli shook her head and pointed at the group of people: "Who are those people?"
"Foreigner."
"I see that their appearance and accent are no different from ours, so why are they called aliens?" Su Fangli asked.
She used to think that foreigners were from other nationalities, but the ones she saw today were completely different.
The man paused, as if not expecting her to ask. But his master had already instructed that all the girl's requests be met, so he replied, "The name was given by the current ruler."
Su Fangli nodded, not quite understanding.
It seems to be some kind of palace feud.
"Miss, do you want to take a walk around the camp? The master said that you can walk around freely here, and I can lead the way." The man said again.
Su Fangli: "Not yet, thank you for clearing up my confusion."
After saying that, she lifted the curtain again and entered the tent.
She didn't dare ask too much, for fear of revealing her ignorance of this era.
Before Grandma Fang woke up, Su Fangli sat beside her and tried out her new Tarot.
-My fortune for today.
- Ten of Wands
-Tower
-"grim Reaper"
Su Fangli's hand paused.
The three-card spread generally corresponds to the past, present, and future.
The "Tower" representing a sudden disaster and the "Death God" representing an irreversible end should be her current situation and result.
Then, the Ten of Wands is the cause card.
The Ten of Wands generally represents burdens and pressures, responsibilities and difficulties that cannot be escaped.
Will this lead to her death?
Su Fangli thought carefully, and in order to interpret the Tarot more easily, she carefully described the three cards in her mind.
She opened her eyes, reshuffled the cards, and silently recited the question:
-Grandma Fang’s fortune today.
- Seven of Cups
-Tower
-"grim Reaper"
Granny Fang’s present and future are the same as mine, only her “past” is different.
The Seven of Cups mainly means confusion and illusion, as well as being deceived and self-deception.
But Granny Fang is still in a coma, how could she be related to the Seven of Cups?
Su Fangli glanced inside the tent and suddenly noticed the empty medicine bowl on the bedside.
The chalice, the bowl, the medicine...
A light of inspiration suddenly flashed in her eyes. Could it be that there was something wrong with this bowl of medicine?
Countless thoughts flashed through his mind as Su Fangli told Ye Zhihui and He Chenghuan a fortune.
The two people's results were exactly the same.
- Seven of Cups
-Tower
-"grim Reaper"
"So it doesn't necessarily refer to this bowl of medicine, then it refers to the Holy Grail..." Su Fangli murmured.
That’s right! It’s water!
After she figured it out, she immediately stood up, tucked in the quilt for Grandma Fang, asked Fang Zai to watch over her, and left the tent.
No one knew where the person who was guarding the gate had gone. There was not a single person nearby. They were all gathered at the camp gate from afar.
Su Fangli walked and looked around. There should be a mountain spring or a well in this camp. Where is it?
She didn't walk fast, just looked around.
Suddenly, I saw a lone figure by the well in the northwest.
At this time, being alone would definitely cause problems, so Su Fangli walked towards that direction.
The man had his back to her, and his attire was similar to the others. He was thin, though, and the star chart on his head was very messy. Before Su Fangli could see clearly, the man had already turned around cautiously.
When his eyes fell on her, his expression froze inexplicably.
"Excuse me, I would like to ask where this person has gone." Su Fangli asked.
The thin man was stunned by the question, "How should I know?"
Su Fangli: "Oh. I just got here today. Could you please show me around?"
"What?" the thin man asked in disbelief.
Su Fangli saw his bulging chest, which seemed to be stuffed with something, causing his clothes to bulge out in an unnatural curve.
It should be something round.
She stared at that place for a long time. The thin man noticed it and put his hand on his chest inadvertently, stroking it and said, "I was wondering what you were going to do. You scared me. I have other things to do. You can find someone else."
Su Fangli seemed not to understand his refusal and continued, "I see you don't do any work, what are you busy with?"
She approached innocently, and when she saw him take a few steps back, she asked, "Do you know where the kitchen is? I'm a little hungry."
"I don't have time to deal with you, go find it yourself." The thin man said, turning around and leaving.
He deliberately did not look back. After walking a few feet away, he quickly turned his head to take a look.
That woman was actually following him!
He walked faster.
Su Fangli followed the man, and her suspicion towards him grew stronger and stronger.
Mars in Scorpio in the twelfth house indicates a heavy mind and secretive behavior. Furthermore, in opposition to Saturn, this often restricts one's actions, and one harbors resentment, which can easily breed a desire for revenge.
Su Fangli wasn't afraid of him getting angry. Even though no one was around, she only needed to shout and they would definitely come. Even if this guy wanted to take action, he would have to think twice.
"I'm going back to my residence. Don't follow me!" The thin man finally couldn't bear it anymore. He said viciously and went into his tent.
"Did you succeed?" An old man who was waiting in the tent asked immediately when he saw the thin man coming in.
"No, keep your voice down!" the thin man said irritably.
The old man was surprised, but he lowered his voice and asked, "What's going on?"
"What bad luck! I was just about to make a move when this little bitch showed up, asking all sorts of questions and following me around. I couldn't find a chance at all."
"What?" Hearing this, the old man was surprised: "Who is it?"
Thin Man: "I don't know. She said she just arrived today."
"Just arrived?" The old man slapped his head. "I remember now. Yes, those two people brought back two women and a dog today. How did they target you?"
The thin man was angry and anxious: "How should I know?" He turned around and opened the curtain a little, "Why is it still there?"
The old man was obviously calmer than him. Something occurred to him and he asked, "Did she see you when you did it?"
"No!" the thin man immediately retorted.
"How do you know she didn't? Seeing how persistent she was, she must have noticed something was amiss." The old man pondered for a moment, his expression growing increasingly fierce as he spoke, "For those two to personally bring her back and take care of her, there must be something special about her. To be absolutely certain, let's go out together and..."
His tone was gloomy and he made a gesture of wiping his neck.
